Numbers 4
1 And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse et Aaron en ces termes:
2 Take the sum of the sons of Kohath from among the sons of Levi, after their families, according to their fathers' houses,
Forme la somme des fils de Kahath parmi les fils de Lévi, selon leurs familles, selon leurs maisons patriarcales,
3 from thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, all that enter into the service, to do the work in the tent of meeting.
depuis les hommes de trente ans et plus jusqu'à ceux de cinquante, de tous les hommes capables de servir pour exercer une fonction dans la Tente du Rendez-vous.
4 This shall be the service of the sons of Kohath in the tent of meeting: it is most holy.
Voici l'office des fils de Kahath dans la Tente du Rendez-vous: le soin du Lieu très-Saint.
5 And when the camp setteth forward, Aaron and his sons shall go in, and they shall take down the veil of separation and cover the ark of testimony with it;
A la levée du camp, Aaron et ses fils y entreront et descendront le rideau qui le voile, et ils en couvriront l'Arche du Témoignage.
6 and shall put thereon a covering of badgers' skin, and shall spread over it a cloth wholly of blue, and shall put its staves [to it].
Et ils superposeront une couverture de peau de chien de mer, et ils étendront par-dessus une draperie toute d'azur; puis ils arrangeront les barres.
7 And upon the table of shewbread they shall spread a cloth of blue; and put thereon the dishes, and the cups, and the bowls, and goblets of the drink-offering; and the continual bread shall be thereon.
Et sur la Table des Pains de Présentation ils étendront une draperie d'azur; puis ils y placeront les plats et les coupes, et les jattes et les patères des libations; le pain perpétuel devra s'y trouver.
8 And they shall spread upon them a cloth of scarlet, and cover it with a covering of badgers' skin, and shall put its staves [to it].
Et sur le tout ils étendront une draperie de vermillon qu'ils recouvriront d'une couverture de peau de chien de mer, puis ils arrangeront les barres.
9 And they shall take a cloth of blue, and cover the candlestick of the light, and its lamps, and its snuffers, and its snuff-trays, and all the oil vessels thereof, wherewith they perform its service;
Et ils prendront une draperie d'azur dont ils couvriront le candélabre et ses lampes et ses mouchettes et ses pinces et tous ses vases à huile, employés à son service;
10 and they shall put it and all the utensils thereof within a covering of badgers' skin, and shall put it upon a pole.
et ils le mettront avec tous ses ustensiles dans une enveloppe de peau de chien de mer et le placeront sur le brancard.
11 And upon the golden altar they shall spread a cloth of blue, and cover it with a covering of badgers' skin, and shall put its staves [to it].
Et sur l'Autel d'or ils étendront une draperie d'azur et le couvriront d'une couverture de peau de chien de mer; puis ils arrangeront les barres.
12 And they shall take all the instruments of service, wherewith they serve in the sanctuary, and put them in a cloth of blue, and cover them with a covering of badgers' skin, and shall put them upon a pole.
Et ils prendront tous les ustensiles de service employés à faire le service dans le Sanctuaire et les mettront dans une draperie d'azur et les couvriront d'une couverture de peau de chien de mer; puis ils les placeront sur les brancards.
13 And they shall cleanse the altar of the ashes, and spread a purple cloth thereon;
Et ils enlèveront les cendres de l'Autel, sur lequel ils étendront une draperie de pourpre, puis sur lequel ils placeront tous ses ustensiles employés à y faire le service, les cendriers et les fourchettes et les pelles et les bassins, tous les ustensiles de l'Autel;
14 and they shall put upon it all the utensils thereof, wherewith they perform service about it: the firepans, the forks, and the shovels, and the bowls, — all the utensils of the altar; and they shall spread upon it a covering of badgers' skin, and put its staves [to it].
et ils étendront par-dessus une couverture de peau de chien de mer; puis ils arrangeront les barres.
15 And when Aaron and his sons have ended covering the sanctuary, and all the utensils of the sanctuary, when the camp setteth forward, then afterwards the sons of Kohath shall come to carry it; but they shall not touch the holy things, lest they die. This is what the sons of Kohath have to carry in the tent of meeting.
Et lorsque Aaron et ses fils auront achevé de mettre à couvert le Sanctuaire et tous les meubles du Sanctuaire lors de la levée du camp, alors les fils de Kahath viendront pour le porter; mais ils ne toucheront pas au Sanctuaire sous peine de mort. Tel est l'office de porteurs, des fils de Kahath dans la Tente du Rendez-vous.
16 And Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest shall have the oversight of the oil for the light, and the fragrant incense, and the continual oblation, and the anointing oil, — the oversight of the whole tabernacle, and of all that is therein, over the sanctuary, and over its furniture.
Et Éléazar, fils du Prêtre Aaron, aura la surveillance de l'huile du candélabre et de l'encens aromatique et de l'offrande perpétuelle et de l'huile d'onction, la surveillance de toute la Résidence et de tout ce qu'elle contient, du Sanctuaire et de ses meubles.
17 And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse et Aaron en ces termes:
18 Ye shall not cut off the families of the Kohathites from among the Levites,
N'exposez pas la race des familles des Kahathites à être exterminée du milieu des Lévites;
19 but this shall ye do unto them, that they may live, and not die, when they draw near unto the most holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in, and appoint them every one to his service and to his burden;
mais lorsqu'ils s'approcheront du Lieu très-Saint, voici comment vous vous y prendrez avec eux pour qu'ils vivent et ne périssent point: Aaron et ses fils y pénétreront, et assigneront à chacun d'eux son service et son fardeau,
20 but they shall not go in and see for a moment the holy things, lest they die.
mais ceux-ci n'y entreront point pour voir, même un instant, le Sanctuaire et mourir.
21 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,
Et l'Éternel parla à Moïse en ces termes:
22 Take also the sum of the sons of Gershon, according to their fathers' houses, after their families.
Forme aussi la somme des fils de Gerson, selon leurs maisons patriarcales, selon leurs familles;
23 From thirty years old and upward to fifty years old shalt thou number them; every one that cometh to labour in the work, to perform the service in the tent of meeting.
tu les recenseras depuis ceux de trente ans et plus jusqu'à ceux de cinquante, tous les hommes capables de servir pour exercer une fonction dans la Tente du Rendez-vous.
24 This shall be the service of the families of the Gershonites, in serving, and in carrying:
Voici les fonctions des familles des Gersonites quant à ce qu'ils auront à faire et à ce qu'ils auront à porter:
25 they shall carry the curtains of the tabernacle, and the tent of meeting, its covering, and the covering of badgers' skin that is above upon it, and the curtain of the entrance to the tent of meeting,
ils porteront les tentures de la Résidence et la Tente du Rendez-vous avec sa couverture et la couverture de peau de chien de mer superposée à celle-ci, et le Rideau de la porte de la Tente du Rendez-vous
26 and the hangings of the court, and the curtain of the entrance, of the gate of the court, which surroundeth the tabernacle and the altar, and the cords thereof, and all the instruments of their service; and all that is to be done for these things shall they perform.
et les toiles du Parvis et le rideau de l'ouverture de la Porte du Parvis qui entoure la Résidence et l'Autel de toute part, et leurs cordes et toutes les pièces de leur appareil; d'ailleurs ils feront tout ce qui doit y être fait.
27 At the commandment of Aaron and his sons shall be all the service of the sons of the Gershonites, in all their carrying, and in all their service; and ye shall appoint unto them in charge all their carrying.
Les Gersonites seront sous les ordres d'Aaron et de ses fils pour toutes leurs fonctions, dans tous les cas où ils seront porteurs et officiants; vous leur remettrez la garde de tout ce qu'ils auront à porter.
28 This is the service of the families of the sons of Gershon in the tent of meeting, and their charge shall be under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.
Voilà l'office des familles des Gersonites auprès de la Tente du Rendez-vous, et ce dont ils prendront soin sous la direction de Ithamar, fils du Prêtre Aaron.
29 The sons of Merari: after their families, according to their fathers' houses shalt thou number them;
Tu recenseras les fils de Merari selon leurs familles, selon leurs maisons patriarcales,
30 from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old shalt thou number them, every one that entereth into the labour, to perform the service of the tent of meeting.
depuis les hommes de trente ans et plus jusqu'à ceux de cinquante, tous les hommes capables de servir pour exercer une fonction dans la Tente du Rendez-vous.
31 And this shall be the charge of their burden, according to all their service in the tent of meeting: the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and bases thereof,
Et voici ce qu'ils auront à soigner et à porter pour tout service de leur part dans la Tente du Rendez-vous: les ais de la Résidence et leurs traverses et ses colonnes et leurs soubassements et les piliers du pourtour du Parvis et leurs soubassements et leurs clous
32 and the pillars of the court round about, and their bases, and their pegs, and their cords, all their instruments, according to all their service; and by name ye shall number to them the materials which are their charge to carry.
et leurs cordes, toutes leurs pièces et tout leur appareil, et vous dresserez nominativement l'état des pièces qu'ils auront à soigner et à porter.
33 This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, according to all their service in the tent of meeting, under the hand of Ithamar the son of Aaron the priest.
Voilà l'office des familles des Merarites, tout le service qu'ils feront dans la Tente du Rendez-vous sous la direction de Ithamar, fils du Prêtre Aaron.
34 And Moses and Aaron and the princes of the assembly numbered the sons of the Kohathites after their families, and according to their fathers' houses,
Ainsi Moïse et Aaron et les Princes de l'Assemblée recensèrent les fils des Kahathites selon leurs familles, selon leurs maisons patriarcales,
35 from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old, every one that entered into the labour, for service in the tent of meeting.
depuis ceux de trente ans et plus jusqu'à ceux de cinquante ans, tous les hommes capables de servir pour exercer une fonction dans la Tente du Rendez-vous.
36 And those that were numbered of them according to their families were two thousand seven hundred and fifty.
Et le nombre de leurs hommes recensés d'après leurs familles fut de deux mille sept cent cinquante.
37 These are they that were numbered of the families of the Kohathites, every one that served in the tent of meeting, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the commandment of Jehovah through Moses.
Tels sont les hommes recensés des familles des Kahathites, tous servant dans la Tente du Rendez-vous, desquels le recensement fut fait par Moïse et Aaron sur l'ordre de l'Éternel par l'organe de Moïse.
38 And those that were numbered of the sons of Gershon, after their families, and according to their fathers' houses,
Quant à ceux des Gersonites qui furent recensés selon leurs familles, selon leurs maisons patriarcales,
39 from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old, every one that entered into the labour, for service in the tent of meeting,
depuis les hommes de trente ans et plus jusqu'à ceux de cinquante ans, à tous les hommes capables de servir pour exercer une fonction dans la Tente du Rendez-vous,
40 even those that were numbered of them, after their families, according to their fathers' houses, were two thousand six hundred and thirty.
le nombre des Gersonites recensés selon leurs familles, selon leurs maisons patriarcales, fut de deux mille six cent trente.
41 These are they that were numbered of the families of the sons of Gershon, all that served in the tent of meeting, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the commandment of Jehovah.
Tels sont les hommes recensés des familles des Gersonites, tous ceux qui faisaient un service dans la Tente du Rendez-vous, desquels Moïse et Aaron firent le recensement sur l'ordre de l'Éternel.
42 And those that were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, after their families, according to their fathers' houses,
Quant à ceux des familles des Merarites qui furent recensés selon leurs familles, selon leurs maisons patriarcales,
43 from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old, every one that entered into the labour, for service in the tent of meeting,

44 even those that were numbered of them according to their families, were three thousand two hundred.
le nombre des Merarites recensés d'après leurs familles fut de trois mille deux cents.
45 These are they that were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, whom Moses and Aaron numbered according to the commandment of Jehovah through Moses.
Tels sont les hommes recensés des familles des Merarites, desquels Moïse et Aaron firent le recensement sur l'ordre de l'Éternel par l'organe de Moïse.
46 All those that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron and the princes of Israel numbered, after their families and according to their fathers' houses,
Total des hommes des Lévites recensés dont le recensement fut fait par Moïse et Aaron et les Princes d'Israël, selon leurs familles, selon leurs maisons patriarcales,
47 from thirty years old and upward even to fifty years old, every one that came to serve [in] the work of the service, and [in] the work of carrying, in the tent of meeting,
des hommes de trente ans et plus jusqu'à ceux de cinquante ans, tous capables de servir pour exercer une fonction et l'office de porteurs dans la Tente du Rendez-vous,
48 even those that were numbered of them, were eight thousand five hundred and eighty.
total des Lévites recensés: huit mille cinq cent quatre-vingts.
49 According to the commandment of Jehovah they were numbered by Moses, every one for his service, and for his burden, and numbered by him, as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
Ils furent recensés sur l'ordre de l'Éternel par l'organe de Moïse, chacun d'après sa fonction et son office de porteur, ceux-là étant recensés que l'Éternel avait indiqués à Moïse.
