< Matthew 8 >
1 And when he had come down from the mountain, great crowds followed him.
Esi Yesu ɖi tso togbɛ la dzi gbɔna la, ameha gã aɖe kplɔe ɖo hoo.
2 And behold, a leper came up to [him] and did him homage, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou art able to cleanse me.
Kasia anyidzela aɖe zɔ tẽe va dze klo ɖe eƒe akɔme, eye wòde ta agu nɛ hegblɔ be, “Aƒetɔ, ne èlɔ̃ la, na ŋutinye nakɔ.”
3 And he stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, I will; be cleansed. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
Enumake Yesu ka asi ŋutsu la ŋu gblɔ nɛ be, “Mèlɔ̃, ŋutiwò nekɔ.” Ale anyidɔ la bu le eŋuti enumake.
4 And Jesus says to him, See thou tell no man, but go, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift which Moses ordained, for a testimony to them.
Yesu yi edzi gblɔ nɛ be, “Kpɔ egbɔ be mègblɔ nu sia na ame aɖeke o, ke boŋ yi nàtsɔ ɖokuiwò afia nunɔla la, eye nàna vɔsanu siwo Mose ɖo ɖi na ameŋukɔkɔ abe ɖaseɖiɖi na wo ene.”
5 And when he had entered into Capernaum, a centurion came to him, beseeching him,
Esi Yesu va ɖo Kapernaum la, aʋafia aɖe va egbɔ va ɖe kuku nɛ vevie be wòakpe ɖe ye ŋu.
6 and saying, Lord, my servant lies paralytic in the house, suffering grievously.
Egblɔ be, “Aƒetɔ, nye dɔla le lãmetutudɔ lém, emlɔ anyi ɖe aƒe me, eye wòle vevesese gã aɖe me.”
7 And Jesus says to him, I will come and heal him.
Yesu gblɔ nɛ be, “Enyo, megbɔna be mada gbe le wò dɔnɔ la ŋu na wò.”
8 And the centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not fit that thou shouldest enter under my roof; but only speak a word, and my servant shall be healed.
Ke aʋafia la ya gblɔ nɛ be, “Aƒetɔ, nyemedze be nàva nye aƒe me o, eye mehiã be nàva hã o. Ke gblɔ nya ɖeka ko, eye nye dɔla la ƒe lãme nasẽ.
9 For I also am a man under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say to this [one], Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my bondman, Do this, and he does it.
Elabena nye ŋutɔ hã menye ame le ŋusẽ te, eye asrafowo le nye hã tenye. Meɖea gbe na tenyeviwo be, ‘Miyi afii,’ eye woyina, ‘Miva afii,’ eye wovana, megblɔna na nye dɔla be, ‘Wɔ esi kple ekemɛ,’ eye wòwɔnɛ.”
10 And when Jesus heard it, he wondered, and said to those who followed, Verily I say unto you, Not even in Israel have I found so great faith.
Yesu ƒe nu ku le aʋafia la ƒe nyawo ŋuti. Azɔ etrɔ ɖe ameha la ŋu gblɔ be, “Le nyateƒe me la, nyemekpɔ xɔse sia tɔgbi le Israelnyigba dzi kpɔ o.
11 But I say unto you, that many shall come from [the] rising and setting [sun], and shall lie down at table with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of the heavens;
Mele egblɔm na mi be, ame geɖewo atso xexea me ƒe dzogoe eneawo katã dzi age ɖe dziƒofiaɖuƒe la me, eye woanɔ anyi kple Abraham, Isak kple Yakob.
12 but the sons of the kingdom shall be cast out into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
Ke Israelvi geɖewo, ame siwo wodzra fiaɖuƒe la ɖo ɖi na ya la, woatsɔ wo aƒu gbe ɖe viviti tsiɖitsiɖi la me, afi si avifafa kple aɖukliɖuɖu anɔ.”
13 And Jesus said to the centurion, Go, and as thou hast believed, be it to thee. And his servant was healed in that hour.
Yesu gatrɔ ɖe Romasrafowo ƒe amegã la ŋu hegblɔ nɛ be, “Heyi aƒe me, nu si nèxɔ se be ate ŋu ava eme la, va eme xoxo.” Le ɣeyiɣi si me Yesu nɔ nya siawo gblɔm la, dɔla la ƒe lãme sẽ.
14 And when Jesus had come to Peter's house, he saw his mother-in-law laid down and in a fever;
Esi Yesu kple eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo va Petro ƒe aƒe me la, ekpɔ Petro lɔ̃xo wònɔ anyimlɔƒe le ŋudza lém.
15 and he touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she arose and served him.
Yesu ka asi eƒe asi ŋu, eye eƒe lãme sẽ enumake. Ale wòtso, eye wòsubɔe.
16 And when the evening was come, they brought to him many possessed by demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all that were ill;
Gbe ma gbe ƒe fiẽ la, wokplɔ ame geɖe siwo gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃wo nɔ fu ɖem na la va Yesu gbɔ, eye ne wògblɔ nya ɖeka ko la, gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃awo doa go le ameawo me hesina dzona. Ale dɔnɔwo katã ƒe lãme sẽ.
17 so that that should be fulfilled which was spoken through Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities and bore our diseases.
Esia wu Nyagblɔɖila Yesaya ƒe nyawo nu be, “Etsɔ míaƒe vevesesewo, eye wòde ta míaƒe dɔlélewo te.”
18 And Jesus, seeing great crowds around him, commanded to depart to the other side.
Esi Yesu kpɔ be ameha geɖewo nɔ ye gbɔ vam la, edɔ eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo be woadi ʋu aɖe vɛ ne yewoatsɔ atso ƒu la ayi eƒe go evelia dzi.
19 And a scribe came up and said to him, Teacher, I will follow thee whithersoever thou mayest go.
Hafi wòaɖe nu le nya sia me la, Yudatɔwo ƒe agbalẽfiala aɖe va egbɔ gblɔ nɛ be, “Nufiala, nye la, makplɔ wò ɖo ayi afi sia afi si nàyi la.”
20 And Jesus says to him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven roosting-places; but the Son of man has not where he may lay his head.
Yesu ɖo eŋu nɛ be, “Abeiwo la, do le wo si wodɔa eme, xeviwo la, atɔ le wo si wodɔa eme, gake Amegbetɔ Vi la mekpɔ afi si wòatsɔ ta aziɔ ɖo o.”
21 But another of his disciples said to him, Lord, suffer me first to go away and bury my father.
Ame bubu aɖe si nye eyomedzelawo dometɔ ɖeka la hã gblɔ nɛ be, “Aƒetɔ, ɖe mɔ nam mayi aɖaɖi fofonye gbã hafi.”
22 But Jesus said to him, Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.
Yesu ɖo eŋu na ame sia hã be, “Dze yonyeme fifia, eye nàɖe asi le ame siwo ku le gbɔgbɔ me la ŋu be woaɖi woƒe ame kukuwo.”
23 And he went on board ship and his disciples followed him;
Azɔ ege ɖe ʋu aɖe me, eye eya kple eƒe nusrɔ̃lawo dze mɔ ɖo ta ƒua ƒe go evelia dzi.
24 and behold, [the water] became very agitated on the sea, so that the ship was covered by the waves; but he slept.
Kasia ahom dziŋɔ aɖe de asi tutu me, eye ƒutsotsoewo de asi ŋeŋe me ɖe ʋua me. Le ɣeyiɣi sia katã me la, Yesu ŋutɔ ya nɔ alɔ̃ dɔm bɔkɔɔ.
25 And the disciples came and awoke him, saying, Lord save: we perish.
Nusrɔ̃lawo te ɖe eŋu enumake. Woʋuʋui sesĩe hegblɔ nɛ kple ɣli be, “Aƒetɔ, ɖe mí! Míele nyɔnyrɔm!”
26 And he says to them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then, having arisen, he rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.
Yesu gblɔ na wo be, “O, mi xɔse ʋɛ tɔwo! Nu ka wɔ miele dzodzom nyanyanya kple vɔvɔ̃ ale?” Azɔ etsi tsitre, eye wòblu ɖe ahom la ta. Ya sesẽ la tɔ enumake, eye ɖoɖoe zi toŋtoŋtoŋ le ƒua dzi.
27 But the men were astonished, saying, What sort [of man] is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?
Nusrɔ̃lawo ƒe nu ku ŋutɔ, ale wogblɔ na wo nɔewo be, “Ame ka gɔ̃e nye esia, be yaƒoƒo kple ƒutsotsoewo hã ɖoa toe mahã?”
28 And there met him, when he came to the other side, to the country of the Gergesenes, two possessed by demons, coming out of the tombs, exceeding dangerous, so that no one was able to pass by that way.
Esi wova ɖi go ɖe ƒua ƒe go kemɛ dzi le Gadaratɔwo ƒe anyigba me la, ame eve siwo me gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃wo xɔ aƒe ɖo la ƒu du va kpee. Ame eve siawo ƒe nɔƒee nye ameɖibɔ aɖe si le afi ma la me. Adã nɔa mo na wo, ale be ame aɖeke megatea ŋu toa afi ma lɔƒo o.
29 And behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Son of God? hast thou come here before the time to torment us?
Esi wokpɔ Yesu la, wode asi ɣlidodo me be, “Nu ka dim wò Mawu ƒe Vi nèle le mía gbɔ? Ɖe nèva be yeawɔ fu mí hafi ɣeyiɣi la naɖoa?”
30 Now there was, a great way off from them, a herd of many swine feeding;
Le ɣe ma ɣi me la, aƒehawo ƒe ha gã aɖe nɔ nu ɖum le afi ma lɔƒo.
31 and the demons besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, send us away into the herd of swine.
Ale gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃awo ɖe kuku na Yesu gblɔ nɛ be, “Ne ènya mí do goe le ame siawo me la, na míayi aɖage ɖe ha mawo me.”
32 And he said to them, Go. And they, going out, departed into the herd of swine; and lo, the whole herd [of swine] rushed down the steep slope into the sea, and died in the waters.
Yesu gblɔ na wo be, “Meɖe mɔ na mi, eya ta mido le ameawo me kaba!” Ale gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃awo do go le ame eveawo me ɖage ɖe haawo me; enumake haawo katã ƒu du sesĩe ɖage ɖe atsiaƒu si le afi ma la me doo, eye wono tsi ku.
33 But they that fed them fled, and went away into the city and related everything, and what had happened as to those possessed by demons.
Hakplɔlawo ŋutɔ lé du tsɔ sesĩe yi du si te ɖe afi ma ŋu la me, eye wogblɔ nu si dzɔ kple ame siwo me gbɔgbɔ vɔ̃ do go le la ƒe nyawo na dua me tɔwo.
34 And behold, the whole city went out to meet Jesus; and when they saw him, they begged [him] to go away out of their coasts.
Ale le ɣeyiɣi kpui aɖe megbe ko la, dua me tɔwo katã do bibibi va ƒo zi ɖe Yesu ŋu. Esi wokpɔe la, woɖe kuku nɛ vevie be wòadzo le yewoƒe anyigba dzi.
