Matthew 12
1 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath through the cornfields; and his disciples were hungry, and began to pluck the ears and to eat.
N'aquelle tempo passou Jesus pelas searas, em um sabbado; e os seus discipulos tinham fome, e começaram a colher espigas, e a comer.
2 But the Pharisees, seeing [it], said to him, Behold, thy disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on sabbath.
E os phariseos, vendo isto, disseram-lhe: Eis que os teus discipulos fazem o que não é licito fazer n'um sabbado.
3 But he said to them, Have ye not read what David did when he was hungry, and they that were with him?
Elle, porém, lhes disse: Não tendes lido o que fez David, quando teve fome, elle e os que com elle estavam?
4 How he entered into the house of God, and ate the shewbread, which it was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those with him, but for the priests only?
Como entrou na casa de Deus, e comeu os pães da proposição, que não lhe era licito comer, nem aos que com elle estavam, mas só aos sacerdotes?
5 Or have ye not read in the law that on the sabbaths the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?
Ou não tendes lido na lei que, aos sabbados, os sacerdotes violam o sabbado no templo, e ficam sem culpa?
6 But I say unto you, that there is here what is greater than the temple.
Pois eu vos digo que está aqui um maior do que o templo.
7 But if ye had known what is: I will have mercy and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.
Mas, se vós soubesseis o que significa: Misericordia quero, e não sacrificio, não condemnarieis os innocentes.
8 For the Son of man is Lord of the sabbath.
Porque o Filho do homem até do sabbado é Senhor.
9 And, going away from thence, he came into their synagogue.
E, partindo d'ali, chegou á synagoga d'elles.
10 And behold, there was a man having his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath? that they might accuse him.
E, estava ali um homem que tinha uma das mãos mirrada; e elles, para o accusarem, o interrogaram, dizendo: É licito curar nos sabbados?
11 But he said to them, What man shall there be of you who has one sheep, and if this fall into a pit on the sabbath, will not lay hold of it and raise [it] up?
E elle lhes disse: Qual d'entre vós será o homem que tenha uma ovelha, e, se n'um sabbado a tal ovelha cair n'uma cova, não lance mão d'ella, e a levante?
12 How much better then is a man than a sheep! So that it is lawful to do well on the sabbath.
Pois quanto mais vale um homem do que uma ovelha? É, por consequencia, licito fazer bem nos sabbados.
13 Then he says to the man, Stretch out thy hand. And he stretched [it] out, and it was restored sound as the other.
Então disse áquelle homem: Estende a tua mão. E elle a estendeu, e ficou sã como a outra.
14 But the Pharisees, having gone out, took counsel against him, how they might destroy him.
E os phariseos, tendo saido, formaram conselho contra elle, para o matarem,
15 But Jesus knowing [it], withdrew thence, and great crowds followed him; and he healed them all:
Mas, sabendo-o, retirou-se d'ali, e acompanhou-o uma grande multidão de gente, e elle os curou a todos.
16 and charged them strictly that they should not make him publicly known:
E recommendava-lhes rigorosamente que o não descobrissem,
17 that that might be fulfilled which was spoken through Esaias the prophet, saying,
Para que se cumprisse o que fôra dito pelo propheta Isaias, que diz:
18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen, my beloved, in whom my soul has found its delight. I will put my Spirit upon him, and he shall shew forth judgment to the nations.
Eis aqui o meu servo, que escolhi, o meu amado, em quem a minha alma se compraz: porei sobre elle o meu espirito, e annunciará aos gentios o juizo.
19 He shall not strive or cry out, nor shall any one hear his voice in the streets;
Não contenderá, nem clamará, nem alguem ouvirá pelas ruas a sua voz
20 a bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, until he bring forth judgment unto victory;
Não esmagará a canna quebrada, e não apagará o murrão que fumega, até que faça triumphar o juizo;
21 and on his name shall [the] nations hope.
E no seu nome os gentios esperarão.
22 Then was brought to him one possessed by a demon, blind and dumb, and he healed him, so that the dumb [man] spake and saw.
Trouxeram-lhe então um endemoninhado cego e mudo; e, de tal modo o curou, que o cego e mudo fallava e via.
23 And all the crowds were amazed and said, Is this [man] the Son of David?
E toda a multidão se admirava e dizia: Não é este o Filho de David?
24 But the Pharisees, having heard [it], said, This [man] does not cast out demons, but by Beelzebub, prince of demons.
Mas os phariseos, ouvindo isto, diziam: Este não expulsa os demonios senão por Beelzebú, principe dos demonios.
25 But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not subsist.
Jesus, porém, conhecendo os seus pensamentos, disse-lhes: Todo o reino dividido contra si mesmo é devastado; e toda a cidade, ou casa dividida contra si mesma não subsistirá.
26 And if Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then shall his kingdom subsist?
E, se Satanaz expulsa a Satanaz, está dividido contra si mesmo; como subsistirá pois o seu reino?
27 And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, your sons, by whom do they cast [them] out? For this reason they shall be your judges.
E, se eu expulso os demonios por Beelzebú, por quem os expulsam então os vossos filhos? Portanto elles mesmos serão os vossos juizes.
28 But if I by [the] Spirit of God cast out demons, then indeed the kingdom of God is come upon you.
Mas, se eu expulso os demonios pelo Espirito de Deus, é conseguintemente chegado a vós o reino de Deus.
29 Or how can any one enter into the house of the strong [man] and plunder his goods, unless first he bind the strong [man]? and then he will plunder his house.
Ou, como pode alguem entrar em casa do homem valente, e furtar os seus vasos, se primeiro não manietar o valente, saqueando então a sua casa?
30 He that is not with me is against me, and he that gathers not with me scatters.
Quem não é comigo é contra mim; e quem comigo não ajunta espalha.
31 For this reason I say unto you, Every sin and injurious speaking shall be forgiven to men, but speaking injuriously of the Spirit shall not be forgiven to men.
Portanto eu vos digo: Todo o peccado e blasphemia se perdoará aos homens; porém a blasphemia contra o Espirito não será perdoada aos homens.
32 And whosoever shall have spoken a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him; but whosoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this age nor in the coming [one]. (aiōn g165)
E, se qualquer fallar alguma palavra contra o Filho do homem, ser-lhe-ha perdoado, mas, se alguem fallar contra o Espirito Sancto, não lhe será perdoado, nem n'este seculo nem no futuro. (aiōn g165)
33 Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt. For from the fruit the tree is known.
Ou fazei a arvore boa, e o seu fructo bom, ou fazei a arvore má, e o seu fructo mau; porque pelo fructo se conhece a arvore.
34 Offspring of vipers! how can ye speak good things, being wicked? For of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
Raça de viboras, como podeis vós dizer boas coisas, sendo maus? pois do que é em abundancia no coração falla a bocca.
35 The good man out of the good treasure brings forth good things; and the wicked man out of the wicked treasure brings forth wicked things.
O homem bom tira boas coisas do thesouro do seu coração, e o homem mau do mau thesouro tira coisas más.
36 But I say unto you, that every idle word which men shall say, they shall render an account of it in judgment-day:
Mas eu vos digo que de toda a palavra ociosa que os homens disserem hão de dar conta no dia do juizo.
37 for by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Porque por tuas palavras serás justificado, e por tuas palavras serás condemnado.
38 Then answered him some of the scribes and Pharisees, saying, Teacher, we desire to see a sign from thee.
Então alguns dos escribas e dos phariseos tomaram a palavra, dizendo: Mestre, quizeramos ver da tua parte algum signal.
39 But he, answering, said to them, A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and a sign shall not be given to it save the sign of Jonas the prophet.
Mas elle lhes respondeu, e disse: A geração má e adultera pede um signal, porém não se lhe dará senão o signal do propheta Jonas;
40 For even as Jonas was in the belly of the great fish three days and three nights, thus shall the Son of man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.
Pois, como Jonas esteve tres dias e tres noites no ventre da baleia, assim estará o Filho do homem tres dias e tres noites no seio da terra.
41 Ninevites shall stand up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and behold, more than Jonas [is] here.
Os ninivitas resurgirão no juizo com esta geração, e a condemnarão, porque se arrependeram com a prégação de Jonas. E eis que está aqui quem é mais do que Jonas.
42 A queen of [the] south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, more than Solomon [is] here.
A rainha do meio-dia se levantará no dia do juizo com esta geração, e a condemnará; porque veiu dos confins da terra a ouvir a sabedoria de Salomão. E eis que está aqui quem é mais do que Salomão.
43 But when the unclean spirit has gone out of the man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and does not find [it].
E, quando o espirito immundo tem saido do homem, anda por logares aridos, buscando repouso, e não o encontra.
44 Then he says, I will return to my house whence I came out; and having come, he finds [it] unoccupied, swept, and adorned.
Então diz: Voltarei para a minha casa d'onde sahi. E, voltando, acha-a desoccupada, varrida e adornada.
45 Then he goes and takes with himself seven other spirits worse than himself, and entering in, they dwell there; and the last condition of that man becomes worse than the first. Thus shall it be to this wicked generation also.
Então vae, e leva comsigo outros sete espiritos peiores do que elle, e, entrando, habitam ali: e são os ultimos actos d'esse homem peiores do que os primeiros. Assim acontecerá tambem a esta má geração.
46 But while he was yet speaking to the crowds, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, seeking to speak to him.
E, fallando elle ainda á multidão, eis que estavam fóra sua mãe e seus irmãos, pretendendo fallar-lhe.
47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren are standing without, seeking to speak to thee.
E disse-lhe alguem: Eis que estão ali fóra tua mãe e teus irmãos, que querem fallar-te.
48 But he answering said to him that spoke to him, Who is my mother, and who are my brethren?
Porém elle, respondendo, disse ao que lhe fallára: Quem é minha mãe? e quem são meus irmãos?
49 And, stretching out his hand to his disciples, he said, Behold my mother and my brethren;
E, estendendo a sua mão para os seus discipulos, disse: Eis aqui minha mãe e meus irmãos;
50 for whosoever shall do the will of my Father who is in [the] heavens, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.
Porque, qualquer que fizer a vontade de meu Pae que está nos céus, este é meu irmão, e irmã e mãe.
