Matthew 11
1 And it came to pass when Jesus had finished commanding his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and preach in their cities.
೧ಯೇಸು ತನ್ನ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಮಂದಿ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಡುವುದನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸಿದ ಬಳಿಕ ಅವರ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪದೇಶಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಬೋಧಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದನು.
2 But John, having heard in the prison the works of the Christ, sent by his disciples,
೨ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳ ಸುದ್ದಿಯನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಯೋಹಾನನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, ಆತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ,
3 and said to him, Art thou the coming [one]? or are we to wait for another?
೩“ಬರಬೇಕಾದವನು ನೀನೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ನಾವು ಬೇರೊಬ್ಬನಿಗಾಗಿ ಕಾದು ನೋಡಬೇಕೋ” ಎಂದು ಅವರ ಮೂಲಕ ಹೇಳಿ ಕೇಳಿಸಿದನು.
4 And Jesus answering said to them, Go, report to John what ye hear and see.
೪ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ನೀವು ಹೋಗಿ ಕಾಣುವವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವವುಗಳನ್ನು ಯೋಹಾನನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿರಿ;
5 Blind [men] see and lame walk; lepers are cleansed, and deaf hear; and dead are raised, and poor have glad tidings preached to them:
೫ಕುರುಡರು ನೋಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಕುಂಟರು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಕುಷ್ಠರೋಗಿಗಳು ಶುದ್ಧರಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಕಿವುಡರು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಸತ್ತವರು ಜೀವದಿಂದ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಮತ್ತು ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯು ಸಾರಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆ.
6 and blessed is whosoever shall not be offended in me.
೬ನನ್ನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಪಾದಿಸದವನೇ ಧನ್ಯನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
7 But as they went [away], Jesus began to say to the crowds concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? a reed moved about by the wind?
೭ಅವರು ಹೊರಟು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರಲು ಯೇಸು ಯೋಹಾನನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಆ ಜನರ ಗುಂಪುಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೇಳತೊಡಗಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ, “ನೀವು ಏನು ನೋಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅಡವಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಿರಿ? ಗಾಳಿಯಿಂದ ಅಲ್ಲಾಡುವ ದಂಟನ್ನೋ?
8 But what went ye out to see? a man clothed in delicate raiment? behold, those who wear delicate things are in the houses of kings.
೮ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಏನು ನೋಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಿರಿ? ನಯವಾದ ಉಡುಪನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನೋ? ನಯವಾದ ಉಡುಪನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವರು ರಾಜನ ಅರಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುತ್ತಾರಷ್ಟೆ.
9 But what went ye out to see? a prophet? Yea, I say to you, and more than a prophet:
೯ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಯಾತಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಿರಿ? ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯನ್ನು ನೋಡುವುದಕ್ಕೋ? ಹೌದು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನವನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದ್ದೀರಿ ಎಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
10 this is he of whom it is written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, who shall prepare thy way before thee.
೧೦‘ಇಗೋ ನನ್ನ ದೂತನನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುವೆನು. ನೀನು ಹೋಗುವ ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಅವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸುವನು’ ಎಂದು ಯಾರ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಬರೆದದೆಯೋ ಆತನು ಇವನೇ.
11 Verily I say to you, that there is not arisen among [the] born of women a greater than John the baptist. But he who is a little one in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he.
೧೧ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವರೊಳಗೆ ಸ್ನಾನಿಕ ಯೋಹಾನನಿಗಿಂತ ದೊಡ್ಡವನು ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ ಆದರೂ ಪರಲೋಕ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಚಿಕ್ಕವನು ಅವನಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ದೊಡ್ಡವನೆಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
12 But from the days of John the baptist until now, the kingdom of the heavens is taken by violence, and [the] violent seize on it.
೧೨ಸ್ನಾನಿಕ ಯೋಹಾನನ ಕಾಲದಿಂದ ಈ ವರೆಗೂ ಪರಲೋಕ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಬಲವಂತಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಬಲಾತ್ಕಾರಿಗಳು ಒತ್ತಾಯದಿಂದ ಅದನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
13 For all the prophets and the law have prophesied unto John.
೧೩ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳೂ, ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವು ಯೋಹಾನನ ತನಕ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಿದರು.
14 And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, who is to come.
೧೪ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿದ್ದರೆ ಗಮನಿಸಿ ಬರತಕ್ಕ ಎಲೀಯನು ಇವನೇ.
15 He that has ears to hear, let him hear.
೧೫ಕೇಳುವುದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಿವಿಯುಳ್ಳವನು ಕೇಳಲಿ.
16 But to whom shall I liken this generation? It is like children sitting in the markets, which, calling to their companions,
೧೬ಆದರೆ ಈ ಸಂತತಿಯನ್ನು ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಸಲಿ? ಪೇಟೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು ತಮ್ಮ ಗೆಳೆಯರಿಗೆ,
17 say, We have piped to you, and ye have not danced: we have mourned to you, and ye have not wailed.
೧೭‘ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಕೊಳಲೂದಿದೆವು ನೀವು ಕುಣಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಶೋಕಿಸಿದೆವು ನೀವು ಗೋಳಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ’ ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳುವಂಥ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನವಾಗಿದೆ.
18 For John has come neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a demon.
೧೮ಯೋಹಾನನು ಬಂದನು, ಅವನು ಅನ್ನ ಪಾನಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳದವನಾಗಿದುದರಿಂದ, ಅವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ, ‘ದೆವ್ವ ಹಿಡಿದಿದೆ’ ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ.
19 The Son of man has come eating and drinking, and they say, Behold, a man [that is] eating and wine-drinking, a friend of tax-gatherers, and of sinners: — and wisdom has been justified by her children.
೧೯ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು ಬಂದನು, ಅವನು ಅನ್ನ ಪಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇವಿಸುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಅವರು ‘ಇಗೋ ಇವನು ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಬಾಕನು ಕುಡುಕನುತೆರಿಗೆಯವರ ಮತ್ತು ಪಾಪಿಗಳ ಗೆಳೆಯನು’ ಅನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಅದರಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಿಂದಲೇ ಜ್ಞಾನವೆಂದು ಸಮರ್ಥಿಸಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತದೆ” ಅಂದನು.
20 Then began he to reproach the cities in which most of his works of power had taken place, because they had not repented.
೨೦ಅನಂತರ ಆತನು ತನ್ನ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳು ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ನಡೆದ ಊರುಗಳವರು ಮಾನಸಾಂತರಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸತೊಡಗಿದನು.
21 Woe to thee, Chorazin! woe to thee Bethsaida! for if the works of power which have taken place in you, had taken place in Tyre and Sidon, they had long ago repented in sackcloth and ashes.
೨೧ಹೇಗೆಂದರೆ, “ಅಯ್ಯೋ ಖೊರಾಜಿನೇ, ಅಯ್ಯೋ ಬೇತ್ಸಾಯಿದವೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳು ತೂರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಸೀದೋನ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿನವರು ಎಂದೋ ಗೋಣಿತಟ್ಟು ಸುತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಬೂದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು ಮಾನಸಾಂತರಪಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
22 But I say to you, that it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in judgment-day than for you.
೨೨ಆದರೆ ನ್ಯಾಯವಿಚಾರಣೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗತಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ತೂರ್ ಸೀದೋನ್ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳ ಗತಿಯು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸಹನೀಯವಾಗಿರುವುದು.
23 And thou, Capernaum, who hast been raised up to heaven, shalt be brought down even to hades. For if the works of power which have taken place in thee, had taken place in Sodom, it had remained until this day. (Hadēs g86)
೨೩ಎಲೈ ಕಪೆರ್ನೌಮೇನೀನು ಪರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೇರುವೇ ಎಂದು ನೆನಸುತ್ತೀಯೋ? ಇಲ್ಲ, ಪಾತಾಳಕ್ಕೆ ಇಳಿಯುವೆ. ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳು ಸೊದೋಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅದು ಇಂದಿನ ವರೆಗೆ ಉಳಿದಿರುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. (Hadēs g86)
24 But I say to you, that it shall be more tolerable for [the] land of Sodom in judgment-day than for thee.
೨೪ಆದರೆ ನ್ಯಾಯವಿಚಾರಣೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗತಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಸೊದೋಮ್ ಸೀಮೆಯ ಗತಿಯು ಸಹನೀಯವಾಗಿರುವುದು” ಎಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ ಅಂದನು.
25 At that time, Jesus answering said, I praise thee, Father, Lord of the heaven and of the earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to babes.
೨೫ಅದೇ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೇಸು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, “ತಂದೆಯೇ! ಪರಲೋಕದ ಭೂಲೋಕದ ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ನೀನು ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತರಿಗೂ ಈ ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮರೆಮಾಡಿ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಪಡಿಸಿರುವಿ ಎಂದು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.
26 Yea, Father, for thus has it been well-pleasing in thy sight.
೨೬ಹೌದು ತಂದೆಯೇ, ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದೇ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದೆಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ತೋಚಿತು.
27 All things have been delivered to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son but the Father, nor does any one know the Father, but the Son, and he to whom the Son may be pleased to reveal [him].
೨೭ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ತಂದೆಯ ಹೊರತು ಇನ್ನಾವನೂ ಮಗನನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದವನಲ್ಲ. ಮಗನ ಹೊರತು ಇನ್ನಾವನೂ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದವನಲ್ಲ. ಮತ್ತು ಮಗನು ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಯಾರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಕಟಪಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಇಚ್ಛಿಸುತ್ತಾನೋ ಅವನು ಆತನನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
28 Come to me, all ye who labour and are burdened, and I will give you rest.
೨೮“ಎಲೈ ಕಷ್ಟಪಡುವವರೇ, ಹೊರೆಹೊತ್ತವರೇ, ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬನ್ನಿರಿ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿ ಕೊಡುವೆನು.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest to your souls;
೨೯ನಾನು ಸಾತ್ವಿಕನೂ ದೀನಹೃದಯನೂ ಆಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ನೊಗವನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಕಲಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ, ಆಗ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಆತ್ಮಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕುವುದು.
30 for my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
೩೦ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನನ್ನ ನೊಗವು ಮೃದುವಾದದ್ದು, ನನ್ನ ಹೊರೆಯು ಹಗುರವಾದದ್ದು ಆಗಿದೆ” ಅಂದನು.
