Lamentations 3
1 I am the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
Eu sou o homem que tem visto aflição pela vara de sua ira.
2 Me hath he led, and brought into darkness, and not into light.
Ele me conduziu e me fez andar na escuridão, e não em luz.
3 Surely against me hath he turned again and again his hand all the day.
Com certeza ele vira sua mão contra mim repetidamente durante todo o dia.
4 My flesh and my skin hath he wasted away, he hath broken my bones.
He fez minha carne e minha pele envelhecerem. Ele quebrou meus ossos.
5 He hath built against me, and encompassed [me] with gall and toil.
Ele construiu contra mim, e me cercou de amargura e dificuldade.
6 He hath made me to dwell in dark places as those that have been long dead.
He me fez morar em lugares escuros, como aqueles que estão há muito tempo mortos.
7 He hath hedged me about that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.
Ele me cercou, de modo que eu não posso sair. Ele tornou minha corrente pesada.
8 Even when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.
Sim, quando eu choro, e peço ajuda, ele fecha minha oração.
9 He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.
He amuralhou meus caminhos com pedra cortada. Ele fez com que meus caminhos fossem tortos.
10 He is unto me [as] a bear lying in wait, a lion in secret places.
Ele é para mim como um urso à espera, como um leão escondido.
11 He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces; he hath made me desolate.
Ele desviou meu caminho, e me puxou em pedaços. Ele me deixou desolado.
12 He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
He dobrou seu arco, e me colocar como uma marca para a seta.
13 He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.
Ele fez com que os eixos de sua aljava entrassem em meus rins.
14 I am become a derision to all my people; their song all the day.
Eu me tornei um escárnio para todo o meu povo, e sua canção o dia inteiro.
15 He hath sated me with bitterness, he hath made me drunk with wormwood.
He me encheu de amargura. Ele me empanturrou de absinto.
16 He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes.
He também quebrou meus dentes com cascalho. Ele me cobriu de cinzas.
17 And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I have forgotten prosperity.
Você removeu minha alma para longe da paz. Eu esqueci a prosperidade.
18 And I said, My strength is perished, and my hope in Jehovah.
Eu disse: “Minha força pereceu, junto com a minha expectativa de Yahweh”.
19 Remember thou mine affliction and my wandering, the wormwood and the gall.
Lembre-se de minha aflição e minha miséria, o absinto e a amargura.
20 My soul hath [them] constantly in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
Minha alma ainda se lembra deles, e está curvado dentro de mim.
21 — This I recall to heart, therefore have I hope.
Lembro-me disso em minha mente; portanto, tenho esperança.
22 It is of Jehovah's loving-kindness we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not;
É por causa da bondade amorosa de Yahweh que não somos consumidos, porque suas misericórdias não falham.
23 they are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
Eles são novos todas as manhãs. Grande é sua fidelidade.
24 Jehovah is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
“Yahweh é minha porção”, diz minha alma. “Portanto, terei esperança nele”.
25 Jehovah is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul [that] seeketh him.
Yahweh é bom para aqueles que esperam por ele, para a alma que o procura.
26 It is good that one should both wait, and that in silence, for the salvation of Jehovah.
É bom que um homem tenha esperança e esperar silenciosamente pela salvação de Yahweh.
27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth:
É bom para um homem que ele carregue o jugo em sua juventude.
28 He sitteth solitary and keepeth silence, because he hath laid it upon him;
Let ele se senta sozinho e guarda silêncio, porque ele o colocou sobre ele.
29 he putteth his mouth in the dust, if so be there may be hope;
Deixe-o colocar sua boca na poeira, se é para que possa haver esperança.
30 he giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him; he is filled full with reproach.
Deixe-o dar sua bochecha a quem o golpear. Que ele seja cheio de reprovação.
31 For the Lord will not cast off for ever;
Pois o Senhor não abandonará para sempre.
32 but if he have caused grief, he will have compassion according to the multitude of his loving-kindnesses:
Pois embora ele cause tristeza, No entanto, ele terá compaixão de acordo com a multidão de suas carinhosas gentilezas.
33 for he doth not willingly afflict or grieve the children of men.
Pois ele não aflige de bom grado, nem entristecer os filhos dos homens.
34 To crush under foot all the prisoners of the earth,
Para esmagar sob os pés todos os prisioneiros da terra,
35 to turn aside the right of a man before the face of the Most High,
para recusar o direito de um homem diante da face do Altíssimo,
36 to wrong a man in his cause, — will not the Lord see it?
para subverter um homem em sua causa, o Senhor não aprova.
37 Who is he that saith, and there cometh to pass, what the Lord hath not commanded?
Quem é quem diz, e assim acontece, quando o Senhor não o ordena?
38 Out of the mouth of the Most High doth not there proceed evil and good?
O mal e o bem não saem da boca do Altíssimo?
39 Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
Por que um homem vivo deveria reclamar, um homem pela punição de seus pecados?
40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to Jehovah.
Let nós procuramos e tentamos nossos caminhos, e voltar-se novamente para Yahweh.
41 Let us lift up our heart with [our] hands unto God in the heavens.
Let eleva nosso coração com nossas mãos a Deus no céu.
42 We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.
“Transgredimos e nos rebelamos. Você não perdoou.
43 Thou hast covered thyself with anger, and pursued us; thou hast slain, thou hast not spared.
“Você nos cobriu de raiva e nos perseguiu. Você matou. Você não se arrependeu.
44 Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that prayer should not pass through.
You se cobriu com uma nuvem, para que nenhuma oração possa passar.
45 Thou hast made us the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the peoples.
Você fez de nós um “off-scouring” e recusa no meio dos povos.
46 All our enemies have opened their mouth against us.
“Todos os nossos inimigos abriram bem a boca contra nós.
47 Fear and the pit are come upon us, devastation and ruin.
O terror e o poço vieram sobre nós, devastação e destruição”.
48 Mine eye runneth down with streams of water for the ruin of the daughter of my people.
Meu olho se esgota com correntes de água, para a destruição da filha do meu povo.
49 Mine eye poureth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission,
Meus olhos se abaixam e não cessa, sem qualquer interlúdio,
50 till Jehovah look down and behold from the heavens.
até Yahweh olhar para baixo, e vê do céu.
51 Mine eye affecteth my soul, because of all the daughters of my city.
Meu olho afeta minha alma, por causa de todas as filhas de minha cidade.
52 They that are mine enemies without cause have chased me sore like a bird.
Eles me perseguiram implacavelmente como um pássaro, aqueles que são meus inimigos sem causa.
53 They have cut off my life in a pit, and cast a stone upon me.
They cortaram minha vida no calabouço, e atiraram uma pedra em mim.
54 Waters streamed over my head; I said, I am cut off.
As águas passavam por cima da minha cabeça. Eu disse: “Estou cortado”.
55 I called upon thy name, Jehovah, out of the lowest pit.
Eu invoquei seu nome, Yahweh, da masmorra mais baixa.
56 Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my sighing, at my cry.
Você ouviu minha voz: “Não esconda seu ouvido do meu suspiro, e meu choro”.
57 Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee; thou saidst, Fear not.
Você chegou perto no dia em que eu o chamei. Você disse: “Não tenha medo”.
58 Lord, thou hast pleaded the cause of my soul, thou hast redeemed my life.
Senhor, Vós invocastes as causas da minha alma. Você resgatou minha vida.
59 Jehovah, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause.
Yahweh, você viu meu erro. Julgue minha causa.
60 Thou hast seen all their vengeance, all their imaginations against me.
Você já viu toda a vingança deles e todos os seus planos contra mim.
61 Thou hast heard their reproach, O Jehovah, all their imaginations against me;
Você ouviu a reprovação deles, Yahweh, e todos os seus planos contra mim,
62 the lips of those that rise up against me and their meditation against me all the day.
os lábios daqueles que se levantaram contra mim, e suas parcelas contra mim o dia inteiro.
63 Behold thou their sitting down and their rising up: I am their song.
Você vê eles se sentarem e se levantarem. Eu sou a canção deles.
64 Render unto them a recompence, O Jehovah, according to the work of their hands;
Você os pagará de volta, Yahweh, de acordo com o trabalho de suas mãos.
65 give them obduracy of heart, thy curse unto them;
Você lhes dará dureza de coração, sua maldição para eles.
66 pursue them in anger, and destroy them from under the heavens of Jehovah.
Você vai persegui-los com raiva, e destruí-los sob os céus de Yahweh.
