Lamentations 3
1 I am the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
१उसके रोष की छड़ी से दुःख भोगनेवाला पुरुष मैं ही हूँ;
2 Me hath he led, and brought into darkness, and not into light.
२वह मुझे ले जाकर उजियाले में नहीं, अंधियारे ही में चलाता है;
3 Surely against me hath he turned again and again his hand all the day.
३उसका हाथ दिन भर मेरे ही विरुद्ध उठता रहता है।
4 My flesh and my skin hath he wasted away, he hath broken my bones.
४उसने मेरा माँस और चमड़ा गला दिया है, और मेरी हड्डियों को तोड़ दिया है;
5 He hath built against me, and encompassed [me] with gall and toil.
५उसने मुझे रोकने के लिये किला बनाया, और मुझ को कठिन दुःख और श्रम से घेरा है;
6 He hath made me to dwell in dark places as those that have been long dead.
६उसने मुझे बहुत दिन के मरे हुए लोगों के समान अंधेरे स्थानों में बसा दिया है।
7 He hath hedged me about that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.
७मेरे चारों ओर उसने बाड़ा बाँधा है कि मैं निकल नहीं सकता; उसने मुझे भारी साँकल से जकड़ा है;
8 Even when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer.
८मैं चिल्ला-चिल्ला के दुहाई देता हूँ, तो भी वह मेरी प्रार्थना नहीं सुनता;
9 He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked.
९मेरे मार्गों को उसने गढ़े हुए पत्थरों से रोक रखा है, मेरी डगरों को उसने टेढ़ी कर दिया है।
10 He is unto me [as] a bear lying in wait, a lion in secret places.
१०वह मेरे लिये घात में बैठे हुए रीछ और घात लगाए हुए सिंह के समान है;
11 He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces; he hath made me desolate.
११उसने मुझे मेरे मार्गों से भुला दिया, और मुझे फाड़ डाला; उसने मुझ को उजाड़ दिया है।
12 He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
१२उसने धनुष चढ़ाकर मुझे अपने तीर का निशाना बनाया है।
13 He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.
१३उसने अपनी तीरों से मेरे हृदय को बेध दिया है;
14 I am become a derision to all my people; their song all the day.
१४सब लोग मुझ पर हँसते हैं और दिन भर मुझ पर ढालकर गीत गाते हैं,
15 He hath sated me with bitterness, he hath made me drunk with wormwood.
१५उसने मुझे कठिन दुःख से भर दिया, और नागदौना पिलाकर तृप्त किया है।
16 He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes.
१६उसने मेरे दाँतों को कंकड़ से तोड़ डाला, और मुझे राख से ढाँप दिया है;
17 And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I have forgotten prosperity.
१७और मुझ को मन से उतारकर कुशल से रहित किया है; मैं कल्याण भूल गया हूँ;
18 And I said, My strength is perished, and my hope in Jehovah.
१८इसलिए मैंने कहा, “मेरा बल नष्ट हुआ, और मेरी आशा जो यहोवा पर थी, वह टूट गई है।”
19 Remember thou mine affliction and my wandering, the wormwood and the gall.
१९मेरा दुःख और मारा-मारा फिरना, मेरा नागदौने और विष का पीना स्मरण कर!
20 My soul hath [them] constantly in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
२०मैं उन्हीं पर सोचता रहता हूँ, इससे मेरा प्राण ढला जाता है।
21 — This I recall to heart, therefore have I hope.
२१परन्तु मैं यह स्मरण करता हूँ, इसलिए मुझे आशा है:
22 It is of Jehovah's loving-kindness we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not;
२२हम मिट नहीं गए; यह यहोवा की महाकरुणा का फल है, क्योंकि उसकी दया अमर है।
23 they are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
२३प्रति भोर वह नई होती रहती है; तेरी सच्चाई महान है।
24 Jehovah is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
२४मेरे मन ने कहा, “यहोवा मेरा भाग है, इस कारण मैं उसमें आशा रखूँगा।”
25 Jehovah is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul [that] seeketh him.
२५जो यहोवा की बाट जोहते और उसके पास जाते हैं, उनके लिये यहोवा भला है।
26 It is good that one should both wait, and that in silence, for the salvation of Jehovah.
२६यहोवा से उद्धार पाने की आशा रखकर चुपचाप रहना भला है।
27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth:
२७पुरुष के लिये जवानी में जूआ उठाना भला है।
28 He sitteth solitary and keepeth silence, because he hath laid it upon him;
२८वह यह जानकर अकेला चुपचाप रहे, कि परमेश्वर ही ने उस पर यह बोझ डाला है;
29 he putteth his mouth in the dust, if so be there may be hope;
२९वह अपना मुँह धूल में रखे, क्या जाने इसमें कुछ आशा हो;
30 he giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him; he is filled full with reproach.
३०वह अपना गाल अपने मारनेवाले की ओर फेरे, और नामधराई सहता रहे।
31 For the Lord will not cast off for ever;
३१क्योंकि प्रभु मन से सर्वदा उतारे नहीं रहता,
32 but if he have caused grief, he will have compassion according to the multitude of his loving-kindnesses:
३२चाहे वह दुःख भी दे, तो भी अपनी करुणा की बहुतायत के कारण वह दया भी करता है;
33 for he doth not willingly afflict or grieve the children of men.
३३क्योंकि वह मनुष्यों को अपने मन से न तो दबाता है और न दुःख देता है।
34 To crush under foot all the prisoners of the earth,
३४पृथ्वी भर के बन्दियों को पाँव के तले दलित करना,
35 to turn aside the right of a man before the face of the Most High,
३५किसी पुरुष का हक़ परमप्रधान के सामने मारना,
36 to wrong a man in his cause, — will not the Lord see it?
३६और किसी मनुष्य का मुकद्दमा बिगाड़ना, इन तीन कामों को यहोवा देख नहीं सकता।
37 Who is he that saith, and there cometh to pass, what the Lord hath not commanded?
३७यदि यहोवा ने आज्ञा न दी हो, तब कौन है कि वचन कहे और वह पूरा हो जाए?
38 Out of the mouth of the Most High doth not there proceed evil and good?
३८विपत्ति और कल्याण, क्या दोनों परमप्रधान की आज्ञा से नहीं होते?
39 Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
३९इसलिए जीवित मनुष्य क्यों कुड़कुड़ाए? और पुरुष अपने पाप के दण्ड को क्यों बुरा माने?
40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to Jehovah.
४०हम अपने चाल चलन को ध्यान से परखें, और यहोवा की ओर फिरें!
41 Let us lift up our heart with [our] hands unto God in the heavens.
४१हम स्वर्ग में वास करनेवाले परमेश्वर की ओर मन लगाएँ और हाथ फैलाएँ और कहें:
42 We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.
४२“हमने तो अपराध और बलवा किया है, और तूने क्षमा नहीं किया।
43 Thou hast covered thyself with anger, and pursued us; thou hast slain, thou hast not spared.
४३तेरा कोप हम पर है, तू हमारे पीछे पड़ा है, तूने बिना तरस खाए घात किया है।
44 Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that prayer should not pass through.
४४तूने अपने को मेघ से घेर लिया है कि तुझ तक प्रार्थना न पहुँच सके।
45 Thou hast made us the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the peoples.
४५तूने हमको जाति-जाति के लोगों के बीच में कूड़ा-करकट सा ठहराया है।
46 All our enemies have opened their mouth against us.
४६हमारे सब शत्रुओं ने हम पर अपना-अपना मुँह फैलाया है;
47 Fear and the pit are come upon us, devastation and ruin.
४७भय और गड्ढा, उजाड़ और विनाश, हम पर आ पड़े हैं;
48 Mine eye runneth down with streams of water for the ruin of the daughter of my people.
४८मेरी आँखों से मेरी प्रजा की पुत्री के विनाश के कारण जल की धाराएँ बह रही है।
49 Mine eye poureth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission,
४९मेरी आँख से लगातार आँसू बहते रहेंगे,
50 till Jehovah look down and behold from the heavens.
५०जब तक यहोवा स्वर्ग से मेरी ओर न देखे;
51 Mine eye affecteth my soul, because of all the daughters of my city.
५१अपनी नगरी की सब स्त्रियों का हाल देखने पर मेरा दुःख बढ़ता है।
52 They that are mine enemies without cause have chased me sore like a bird.
५२जो व्यर्थ मेरे शत्रु बने हैं, उन्होंने निर्दयता से चिड़िया के समान मेरा आहेर किया है;
53 They have cut off my life in a pit, and cast a stone upon me.
५३उन्होंने मुझे गड्ढे में डालकर मेरे जीवन का अन्त करने के लिये मेरे ऊपर पत्थर लुढ़काए हैं;
54 Waters streamed over my head; I said, I am cut off.
५४मेरे सिर पर से जल बह गया, मैंने कहा, ‘मैं अब नाश हो गया।’
55 I called upon thy name, Jehovah, out of the lowest pit.
५५हे यहोवा, गहरे गड्ढे में से मैंने तुझ से प्रार्थना की;
56 Thou hast heard my voice: hide not thine ear at my sighing, at my cry.
५६तूने मेरी सुनी कि जो दुहाई देकर मैं चिल्लाता हूँ उससे कान न फेर ले!
57 Thou drewest near in the day that I called upon thee; thou saidst, Fear not.
५७जब मैंने तुझे पुकारा, तब तूने मुझसे कहा, ‘मत डर!’
58 Lord, thou hast pleaded the cause of my soul, thou hast redeemed my life.
५८हे यहोवा, तूने मेरा मुकद्दमा लड़कर मेरा प्राण बचा लिया है।
59 Jehovah, thou hast seen my wrong: judge thou my cause.
५९हे यहोवा, जो अन्याय मुझ पर हुआ है उसे तूने देखा है; तू मेरा न्याय चुका।
60 Thou hast seen all their vengeance, all their imaginations against me.
६०जो बदला उन्होंने मुझसे लिया, और जो कल्पनाएँ मेरे विरुद्ध की, उन्हें भी तूने देखा है।
61 Thou hast heard their reproach, O Jehovah, all their imaginations against me;
६१हे यहोवा, जो कल्पनाएँ और निन्दा वे मेरे विरुद्ध करते हैं, वे भी तूने सुनी हैं।
62 the lips of those that rise up against me and their meditation against me all the day.
६२मेरे विरोधियों के वचन, और जो कुछ भी वे मेरे विरुद्ध लगातार सोचते हैं, उन्हें तू जानता है।
63 Behold thou their sitting down and their rising up: I am their song.
६३उनका उठना-बैठना ध्यान से देख; वे मुझ पर लगते हुए गीत गाते हैं।
64 Render unto them a recompence, O Jehovah, according to the work of their hands;
६४हे यहोवा, तू उनके कामों के अनुसार उनको बदला देगा।
65 give them obduracy of heart, thy curse unto them;
६५तू उनका मन सुन्न कर देगा; तेरा श्राप उन पर होगा।
66 pursue them in anger, and destroy them from under the heavens of Jehovah.
६६हे यहोवा, तू अपने कोप से उनको खदेड़-खदेड़कर धरती पर से नाश कर देगा।”
