Judges 5
1 Then sang Deborah and Barak, the son of Abinoam, on that day, saying,
An jenem Tage sangen Debora und Barak, der Sohn Abinoams, folgendes Lied:
2 For that leaders led in Israel, For that the people willingly offered themselves, Bless Jehovah!
Daß Führer an der Spitze standen in Israel, daß das Volk sich willig zeigte: drob preiset den HERRN!
3 Hear, ye kings; give ear, ye princes, I, [even] I, will sing to Jehovah; I will hymn to Jehovah the God of Israel.
Hört zu, ihr Könige! Merkt auf, ihr Fürsten! Ich will, ja, ich will dem HERRN lobsingen, will spielen dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels!
4 Jehovah, when thou wentest forth from Seir, When thou marchedst out of the fields of Edom, The earth trembled, and the heavens dropped, Yea, the clouds dropped water.
HERR, als du auszogst von Seir, als du schrittest von Edoms Gefilden her, da bebte die Erde, es troffen die Himmel, ja, die Wolken troffen von Wasser;
5 The mountains quaked before the face of Jehovah, That Sinai, from before Jehovah the God of Israel.
die Berge wankten vor dem HERRN, der Sinai dort vor dem HERRN, dem Gott Israels.
6 In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, The roads were unused, and the travellers on highways went by crooked paths.
In den Tagen Samgars, des Sohnes Anaths, in den Tagen Jaels waren öde die Straßen, und die Wegewandrer gingen auf krummen Pfaden;
7 The villages ceased in Israel, Ceased until that I Deborah arose, That I arose a mother in Israel.
es fehlte an Führern in Israel, gebrach, bis du auftratst, Debora, auftratst, eine Mutter in Israel.
8 They chose new gods; then was war in the gates: Was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?
Man wählte sich neue Götter; damals war Kampf schon vor den Toren, und weder Schild noch Lanze war zu sehn bei Vierzigtausenden in Israel.
9 My heart is toward the governors of Israel, who offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless Jehovah!
Mein Herz gehört den Führern Israels, denen, die willig sich zeigten im Volk: – preiset den HERRN!
10 Ye that ride on white she-asses, ye that sit on carpets, and ye that walk by the way, consider.
Die ihr reitet auf weißglänzenden Eselinnen, die ihr sitzet auf Teppichen und die zu Fuß ihr wandert: erzählt es euch!
11 Because of the voice of those who divide [the spoil] in the midst of the places of drawing water; There they rehearse the righteous acts of Jehovah, His righteous acts toward his villages in Israel. Then the people of Jehovah went down to the gates.
Horch! … zwischen den Tränkrinnen! Dort preist man die Heilstaten des HERRN, die Heilstaten seiner Führerschaft in Israel. Da zog das Volk des HERRN zu den Toren hinab.
12 Awake, awake, Deborah! awake, awake, utter a song! Arise, Barak, and lead captive thy captives, thou son of Abinoam!
Wach auf, erwache, Debora! Wach auf, erwache und stimme den Sang an! Erhebe dich, Barak, und fange deine Fänger, Sohn Abinoams!
13 Then come down, thou, the remnant of nobles, [as his] people; Jehovah! come down with me in the midst of the mighty ones.
Da zog Israel hinab samt seinen Edlen; das Volk des HERRN zog hinab als Heldenschar.
14 Out of Ephraim [came] those whose root was in Amalek; After thee was Benjamin among thy peoples. Out of Machir came down governors, And out of Zebulun they that handled the staff of the ruler.
Aus Ephraim kamen die, deren Stammsitz unter Amalek ist, hinter ihnen Benjamin mit seinen Scharen; aus Machir zogen Gebieter hinab und aus Sebulon die Träger des Führerstabs,
15 And the princes in Issachar were with Deborah; And Issachar, like Barak; They were sent into the valley at his feet. In the divisions of Reuben there were great resolves of heart!
und die Fürsten in Issaschar mit Debora und wie Issaschar so Barak: in die Ebene stürmte er hin zu Fuß. An Rubens Bächen fanden schwere Erwägungen statt:
16 Why abodest thou among the sheepfolds, To hear the bleating of the flocks? In the divisions of Reuben there were great deliberations of heart!
»Warum bliebst du zwischen den Hürden sitzen, um das Herdengeblök zu hören?« An Rubens Bächen fanden schwere Erwägungen statt.
17 Gilead abode beyond Jordan; And Dan, why did he remain in ships? Asher sat on the sea-shore, And abode in his creeks.
Gliead blieb ruhig jenseits des Jordans, und Dan – warum weilte er bei den Schiffen? Asser saß still am Gestade des Meeres und blieb ruhig an seinen Buchten;
18 Zebulun is a people [that] jeoparded their lives unto death, Naphtali also, on the high places of the field.
aber Sebulon ist ein Volk, das sein Leben dem Tode preisgibt, auch Naphthali auf den Höhen seines Gefildes.
19 Kings came, — they fought; Then fought the kings of Canaan; At Taanach, by the waters of Megiddo; They took no spoil of silver.
Könige kamen und stritten; damals stritten die Könige Kanaans bei Thaanach an den Wassern Megiddos: Beute an Silber gewannen sie nicht.
20 From heaven was the fight; The stars from their courses fought with Sisera.
Vom Himmel her stritten die Sterne, von ihren Bahnen her stritten sie gegen Sisera.
21 The torrent of Kishon swept them away, That ancient torrent, the torrent Kishon. My soul, thou hast trodden down strength!
Der Kisonbach spülte sie weg, der alte Schlachtenbach, der Kisonbach: tritt sie nieder, meine Seele, mit aller Kraft!
22 Then did the horse-hoofs clatter with the coursings, The coursings of their steeds.
Damals stampften die Hufe der Rosse vom Rennen, dem Rennen ihrer Helden.
23 Curse Meroz, saith the Angel of Jehovah; Curse, curse the inhabitants thereof; For they came not to the help of Jehovah, To the help of Jehovah among the mighty.
»Verfluchet Meros!« ruft der Engel des HERRN, »ja, fluchet seinen Bewohnern! Denn sie sind dem HERRN nicht zu Hilfe gekommen, dem HERRN nicht zu Hilfe unter den Helden!«
24 Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, Blessed above women in the tent!
Gepriesen vor allen Weibern sei Jael, das Weib des Keniters Heber, vor den Weibern im Zelt gepriesen!
25 He asked water, she gave milk; In the nobles' bowl she brought forth cream.
Um Wasser bat er, Milch gab sie, im Ehrenbecher reichte sie Sahne.
26 She put her hand to the tent-pin, And her right hand to the workmen's hammer; And she smote Sisera, she struck through his head, Shattered and pierced through his temples.
Ihre Hand streckte sie aus nach dem Zeltpflock, ihre Rechte nach einem Arbeitshammer, hämmerte los auf Sisera, zermalmte sein Haupt, zerschmetterte und durchbohrte ihm die Schläfe;
27 Between her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay down: Between her feet he bowed, he fell; Where he bowed, there he fell, overcome.
zu ihren Füßen brach er zusammen, sank hin, lag da; zu ihren Füßen brach er zusammen, sank hin: wo er zusammenbrach, blieb entseelt er liegen.
28 Them other of Sisera looketh out at the window, And crieth through the lattice, Why is his chariot so long in coming? Why tarry the trampings of his chariots?
Durchs Fenster spähte sie aus und rief in Angst, Siseras Mutter, durchs Gitter hindurch: »Warum zaudert sein Wagen heimzukommen? Warum säumt der Hufschlag seiner Gespanne?«
29 The wise amongst her ladies answer [her], Yea, she returneth answer to herself,
Die klügste ihrer Edelfrauen erwidert ihr, und auch sie selbst gibt sich die Antwort:
30 Have they not found, divided the booty, A damsel, two damsels, to each? A booty of dyed stuffs for Sisera, A booty of dyed stuffs of embroidery, Dyed stuff of double embroidery for the neck of a spoiler?
»Sicherlich haben sie Beute zu teilen gefunden, eine Dirne, zwei Dirnen für jeden Mann, Beute an bunten Stoffen für Sisera, Beute an buntgestickten Gewändern, farbiges Zeug, ein Paar gestickte Tücher für den Hals der Herrin.«
31 So let all thine enemies perish, Jehovah! But let them that love him be as the rising of the sun in its might. And the land had rest forty years.
So müssen umkommen alle deine Feinde, HERR! Doch die ihn lieben, sind wie der Sonne Aufgang in ihrer Kraft. – Darauf hatte das Land vierzig Jahre lang Ruhe.
