Joshua 22
1 Then Joshua called the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh,
Então Josué chamou os rubenitas, e os gaditas, e a meia tribo de Manasseh,
2 and said unto them, Ye have kept all that Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded you, and have hearkened to my voice in all that I commanded you.
E disse-lhes: Tudo quanto Moisés, o servo do Senhor, vos ordenou, guardastes: e à minha voz obedecestes em tudo quanto vos ordenei.
3 Ye have not left your brethren these many days unto this day, and ye have kept the charge of the commandment of Jehovah your God.
A vossos irmãos por tanto tempo até ao dia de hoje não desamparastes: antes tivestes cuidado da guarda do mandamento do Senhor vosso Deus.
4 And now Jehovah your God hath given rest to your brethren, as he said unto them; and now return, and get you unto your tents, unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of Jehovah gave you beyond the Jordan.
E agora o Senhor vosso Deus deu repouso a vossos irmãos, como lhes tinha prometido: voltai-vos pois agora, e ide-vos a vossas tendas, à terra da vossa possessão, que Moisés, o servo do Senhor, vos deu de além do Jordão.
5 Only, take great heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded you, to love Jehovah your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
Tão somente tende cuidado de guardar com diligência o mandamento e a lei que Moisés, o servo do Senhor, vos mandou: que ameis ao Senhor vosso Deus, e andeis em todos os seus caminhos, e guardeis os seus mandamentos, e vos achegueis a ele, e o sirvais com todo o vosso coração, e com toda a vossa alma
6 And Joshua blessed them, and sent them away; and they went to their tents.
Assim Josué os abençoou; e despediu-os, e foram-se às suas tendas.
7 And to half the tribe of Manasseh Moses had given [inheritance] in Bashan, and to the other half thereof had Joshua given among their brethren on this side the Jordan westward. And when Joshua sent them away to their tents, he blessed them also,
Porquanto Moisés dera herança em Basan a meia tribo de Manasseh; porém à outra metade deu Josué entre seus irmãos, de aquém do Jordão para o ocidente; e enviando-os Josué também à suas tendas, os abençoou;
8 and spoke to them, saying, Return unto your tents with much wealth and with very much cattle, with silver, and with gold, and with copper, and with iron, and with clothing, in very great quantity; divide the spoil of your enemies with your brethren.
E falou-lhes, dizendo: voltai-vos às vossas tendas com grandes riquezas, e com muitíssimo gado, com prata, e com ouro, e com metal, e com ferro, e com muitíssimos vestidos: e com vossos irmãos reparti o despojo dos vossos inimigos.
9 And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh returned, and departed from the children of Israel out of Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan, to go to the country of Gilead, into the land of their possession, of which they had become possessed, according to the word of Jehovah through Moses.
Assim os filhos de Ruben, e os filhos de Gad, e a meia tribo de Manasseh voltaram, e partiram dos filhos de Israel, de Silo, que está na terra de Canaan; para se irem à terra de Gilead, à terra da sua possessão, de que foram feitos possuidores, conforme ao dito do Senhor pelo ministério de Moisés.
10 And they came to the districts of the Jordan that are in the land of Canaan; and the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh built there an altar by the Jordan, an altar of grand appearance.
E, vindo eles aos limites do Jordão, que estão na terra de Canaan, ali os filhos de Ruben, e os filhos de Gad, e a meia tribo de Manasseh edificaram um altar junto ao Jordão, um altar de grande aparência.
11 And the children of Israel heard say, Behold, the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh have built an altar over against the land of Canaan, in the districts of the Jordan, separately from the children of Israel.
E ouviram os filhos de Israel dizer: Eis que os filhos de Ruben, e os filhos de Gad, e a meia tribo de Manasseh edificaram um altar na frente da terra de Canaan, nos limites do Jordão, da banda dos filhos de Israel.
12 And when the children of Israel heard [of it], the whole assembly of the children of Israel gathered together at Shiloh, to go up against them to war.
O que os filhos de Israel ouvindo, ajuntou-se toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel em Silo, para sairem contra eles em exército.
13 And the children of Israel sent to the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, into the land of Gilead, Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest,
E enviaram os filhos de Israel aos filhos de Ruben, e aos filhos de Gad, e à meia tribo de Manasseh, para a terra de Gilead, a Phineas, filho de Eleazar, o sacerdote;
14 and with him ten princes, of each father's house a prince, out of all the tribes of Israel; and each of them was head of a father's house, of the thousands of Israel.
E a dez príncipes com ele, de cada casa paterna um príncipe, de todas as tribos de Israel: e cada um era Cabeça da casa de seus pais nos milhares de Israel.
15 And they came to the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh, to the land of Gilead, and spoke with them, saying,
E, vindo eles, aos filhos de Ruben, e aos filhos de Gad, e à meia tribo de Manasseh, à terra de Gilead, falaram com eles, dizendo:
16 Thus saith the whole assembly of Jehovah: What wickedness is this which ye have committed against the God of Israel, to turn away this day from following Jehovah, in that ye have built yourselves an altar, rebelling this day against Jehovah?
Assim diz toda a congregação do Senhor: Que transgressão é esta, com que transgredistes contra o Deus de Israel, tornando-vos hoje de após do Senhor, edificando-vos um altar, para vos rebelardes contra o Senhor?
17 Is the iniquity of Peor too little for us? from which we are not cleansed until this day, although there was a plague in the assembly of Jehovah.
Foi-nos pouco a iniquidade de Peor? de que ainda até ao dia de hoje não estamos purificados, ainda que houve castigo na congregação do Senhor?
18 And ye turn away this day from following Jehovah; and it will be, that since ye rebel this day against Jehovah, to-morrow he will be wroth with the whole assembly of Israel.
E hoje vos tornais de após do Senhor: será que, rebelando-vos hoje contra o Senhor, amanhã se irará contra toda a congregação de Israel
19 Notwithstanding, if the land of your possession is unclean, come over into the land of the possession of Jehovah, where Jehovah's tabernacle dwelleth, and take possession amongst us; but rebel not against Jehovah, and rebel not against us, in building for yourselves an altar besides the altar of Jehovah our God.
Se é, porém, que a terra da vossa possessão é imunda, passai-vos para a terra da possessão do Senhor, onde habita o tabernáculo do Senhor, e tomai possessão entre nós: mas não vos rebeleis contra o Senhor, nem tão pouco vos rebeleis contra nós, edificando-vos um altar, a fora do altar do Senhor nosso Deus
20 Did not Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in the accursed thing? and wrath fell on all the assembly of Israel, and he perished not alone in his iniquity.
Não cometeu Acan, filho de Zera, transgressão no tocante ao anátema? e não veio ira sobre toda a congregação de Israel? assim que aquele homem não morreu só na sua iniquidade.
21 And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the half tribe of Manasseh answered and said to the heads of the thousands of Israel,
Então responderam os filhos de Ruben, e os filhos de Gad, e a meia tribo de Manasseh, e disseram aos Cabeças dos milhares de Israel:
22 The God of gods, Jehovah, the God of gods, Jehovah, he knoweth, and Israel he shall know [it]; if it is in rebellion, or if in trespass against Jehovah, — save us not this day!
O Deus dos deuses, o Senhor, ele o sabe, e Israel mesmo o saberá; se é por rebeldia, ou por transgressão contra o Senhor, hoje não nos preserve;
23 — that we have built for ourselves an altar to turn from following Jehovah, and if it is to offer up burnt-offering and oblation on it, and if to offer peace-offerings thereon, let Jehovah himself require it [from us];
Se nós edificamos altar para nos tornar de após do Senhor, ou para sobre ele oferecer holocausto e oferta de manjares, ou sobre ele fazer oferta pacífica, o Senhor mesmo de nós o requeira.
24 and if we have not done it from fear of this thing, saying, In future your children will speak to our children, saying, What have ye to do with Jehovah the God of Israel?
E, se o não fizemos por receio disto, dizendo: Amanhã vossos filhos virão a falar a nossos filhos, dizendo: Que tendes vós com o Senhor Deus de Israel?
25 Jehovah hath made the Jordan a border between us and you, ye children of Reuben and children of Gad, ye have no portion in Jehovah! And so shall your children make our children cease from fearing Jehovah.
Pois o Senhor pôs o Jordão por termo entre nós e vós, ó filhos de Ruben, e filhos de Gad; não tendes parte no Senhor: e assim bem poderiam vossos filhos fazer desistir a nossos filhos de temer ao Senhor.
26 And we said, Let us now set to work to build an altar, not for burnt-offering, nor for sacrifice,
Pelo que dissemos: Façamos agora, e nos edifiquemos um altar: não para holocausto, nem para sacrifício,
27 but to be a witness between us and you, and between our generations after us, that we might do service to Jehovah before him with our burnt-offerings, and with our sacrifices, and with our peace-offerings; that your children may not say to our children in future, Ye have no portion in Jehovah.
Mas para que entre nós e vós, e entre as nossas gerações depois de nós, nos seja em testemunho, para podermos exercitar o serviço do Senhor diante dele com os nossos holocaustos, e com os nossos sacrifícios, e com as nossas ofertas pacíficas: e para que vossos filhos não digam amanhã a nossos filhos: Não tendes parte no Senhor
28 And we said, If it shall be that in future they so say to us and to our generations, we will say, Behold the pattern of the altar of Jehovah which our fathers made, not for burnt-offering, nor for sacrifice, but as a witness between us and you.
Pelo que dissemos: Quando for que amanhã assim nos digam a nós e às nossas gerações, então diremos: vede o modelo do altar do Senhor que fizeram nossos pais, não para holocausto nem para sacrifício, porém para ser testemunho entre nós e vós.
29 Far be it from us that we should rebel against Jehovah, and turn this day from following Jehovah, in building an altar for burnt-offering, for oblation, and for sacrifice, besides the altar of Jehovah our God that is before his tabernacle.
Nunca tal nos aconteça, que nos rebelassemos contra o Senhor, ou que hoje nos tornássemos de após do Senhor, edificando altar para holocausto, oferta de manjares ou sacrifício, fora do altar do Senhor nosso Deus, que está perante o seu tabernáculo.
30 And when Phinehas the priest and the princes of the assembly and the heads of the thousands of Israel that were with him heard the words that the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the children of Manasseh spoke, it was good in their sight.
Ouvindo pois Phineas, o sacerdote, e os príncipes da congregação, e os Cabeças dos milhares de Israel, que com ele estavam, as palavras que disseram os filhos de Ruben, e os filhos de Gad, e os filhos de Manasseh, pareceu bem aos seus olhos.
31 And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest said unto the children of Reuben, and to the children of Gad, and to the children of Manasseh, This day we perceive that Jehovah is among us, because ye have not committed this trespass against Jehovah: now have ye delivered the children of Israel out of the hand of Jehovah.
E disse Phineas, filho de Eleazar, o sacerdote, aos filhos de Ruben, e aos filhos de Gad, e aos filhos de Manasseh: Hoje sabemos que o Senhor está no meio de nós; porquanto não cometestes transgressão contra o Senhor: agora livrastes os filhos de Israel da mão do Senhor.
32 And Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, and the princes, returned from the children of Reuben, and from the children of Gad, out of the land of Gilead, to the land of Canaan, to the children of Israel, and brought them word again.
E tornou-se Phineas, filho de Eleazar, o sacerdote, com os príncipes, de com os filhos de Ruben, e de com os filhos de Gad, da terra de Gilead à terra de Canaan, aos filhos de Israel: e trouxeram-lhes a resposta.
33 And the thing was good in the sight of the children of Israel, and the children of Israel blessed God, and no more said that they would go up in warfare against them, to destroy the land in which the children of Reuben and the children of Gad dwelt.
E pareceu a resposta boa aos olhos dos filhos de Israel, e os filhos de Israel louvaram a Deus: e não falaram mais de subir contra eles em exército, para destruírem a terra em que habitavam os filhos de Ruben e os filhos de Gad.
34 And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad gave a name to the altar; for it is a witness between us that Jehovah is God.
E os filhos de Ruben e os filhos de Gad puseram ao altar o nome Ed: para que seja testemunho entre nós que o Senhor é Deus.
