< Joshua 20 >

1 And Jehovah spoke to Joshua, saying,
Nitsara am’ Iehosoa t’Iehovà ami’ty hoe:
2 Speak to the children of Israel, saying, Appoint for yourselves the cities of refuge, whereof I spoke unto you through Moses,
Saontsio amo ana’ Israeleo ty hoe: Tendreo o rovam-pitsolohañe nitaroñeko ama’ areo am-pità’ i Mosèo;
3 that the slayer who unwittingly without intent smiteth any one mortally may flee thither: and they shall be your refuge from the avenger of blood.
ie amy zay, i mañoho-doza ama’ ondaty tsy nitsatrie’ey, ty hilay mb’eo, toe ho fitsoloham-pamale-fate.
4 And he shall flee unto one of those cities and stand at the entrance of the city-gate, and shall declare his matter in the ears of the elders of that city; and they shall take him into the city unto them, and give him a place, that he may dwell among them.
Ie hitriban-day mb’ ami’ty raik’ amy rova rezay, naho hijohañe an-dalambei’ i rovay, naho hitaroñe ty aze an-dravembia’ o androanavi’ i rovaio; le hampihovae’ iareo amy rovay vaho ho tolora’ iareo toetse himoneña’e am’ iareo.
5 And if the avenger of blood pursue after him, they shall not deliver the slayer up into his hand; for he smote his neighbour unwittingly, and hated him not previously.
Naho mañoridañe aze i mpamale-fatey le tsy hasese’ iereo am-pità’e i namonoy amy te tsy ni-satrie’e ty nanjevoñe i rañe’ey ie tsy niheje’e taolo.
6 And he shall dwell in that city, until he have stood before the assembly in judgment, until the death of the high-priest that shall be in those days; then shall the slayer return, and come unto his own city, and unto his own house, unto the city from whence he fled.
Himoneña’e i rovay ampara’ te mijohañe añatrefa’ ty fivory ty hizaka aze; am-para’ ty fihomaha’ ty mpisorom-bey henane zay; himpoly amy zao i mpamonoy mb’ an-drova’e naho mb’añ’akiba’e, mb’ amy rova nihirifa’e an-daiy.
7 And they hallowed Kedesh in Galilee in the hill-country of Naphtali, and Shechem in the hill-country of Ephraim, and Kirjath-Arba, that is, Hebron, in the hill-country of Judah.
Aa le navì’ iareo ty Kedese e Galilà am-bohibohi’ i Naftalý ao naho i Sekeme am-bohibohi’ i Efraime ao, vaho i Kiriate-arbà (i Kebrone Izay), am-bohibohi’ Iehoda ao.
8 And beyond the Jordan from Jericho eastward, they assigned Bezer in the wilderness, in the plateau, out of the tribe of Reuben, and Ramoth in Gilead out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan of the tribe of Manasseh.
Naho alafe’ Iardeney, atiñana’ Ieriko, le tinoro’ iereo i Betsere am-patrambey an-tane pisakey boak’ am-pifokoa’ i Reobene ao, naho i Ramote e Gilade amy fifokoa’ i Gadey, vaho i Golane e Basane amy fifokoa’ i Menasè.
9 These were the cities appointed for all the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them, that whosoever smiteth any one mortally without intent might flee thither, and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, until he stood before the assembly.
Ie o rova natoro amo hene ana’ Israeleo naho amo renetane mañialo am’ iareoo, te eo ty mañoho-doza ama’ ondaty tsy nitsatrie’e le añe ty itribaha’e an-day tsy hivetrake am-pità’ i mpamale-fatey am-para’ ty ijohaña’e añatrefam-pivory.
