Joshua 14
1 And this is what the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the chief fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, allotted for inheritance to them:
௧கானான் தேசத்திலே இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொண்ட தேசங்களை ஆசாரியனாகிய எலெயாசாரும், நூனின் மகனாகிய யோசுவாவும் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களுடைய கோத்திரப் பிதாக்களின் தலைவர்களும், யெகோவா மோசேயைக்கொண்டு கட்டளையிட்டபடி சீட்டுப்போட்டு,
2 their inheritance was by lot, as Jehovah had commanded by Moses, for the nine tribes, and the half tribe.
௨ஒன்பதரைக் கோத்திரங்களுக்கும் சொந்தமாகப் பங்கிட்டார்கள்.
3 For Moses had given the inheritance of the two tribes and the half tribe beyond the Jordan, but to the Levites he had given no inheritance among them.
௩மற்ற இரண்டரைக் கோத்திரங்களுக்கும் மோசே யோர்தானுக்கு மறுபுறத்திலே பங்கு கொடுத்திருந்தான்; லேவியர்களுக்குமட்டும் அவர்கள் நடுவில் பங்கு கொடுக்கவில்லை.
4 For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim; and they gave no part to the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell in, and their suburbs for their cattle and for their substance.
௪மனாசே மற்றும் எப்பிராயீம் என்பவர்கள் யோசேப்பின் இரண்டு கோத்திரங்களானார்கள்; ஆகவே அவர்கள் லேவியர்களுக்கு தேசத்திலே பங்குகொடுக்காமல், குடியிருக்கும்படி பட்டணங்களையும், அவர்களுடைய ஆடுமாடுகள் முதலான சொத்துக்காக வெளிநிலங்களைமட்டும் அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்கள்.
5 As Jehovah had commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did, and they divided the land.
௫யெகோவா மோசேக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடி இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் செய்து, தேசத்தைப் பங்கிட்டார்கள்.
6 Then the children of Judah came near to Joshua in Gilgal, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, Thou knowest the word that Jehovah spoke to Moses the man of God, concerning me and thee, in Kadesh-barnea.
௬அப்பொழுது யூதாவின் கோத்திரத்தார்கள் கில்காலிலே யோசுவாவிடம் வந்தார்கள்; கேனாசியனான எப்புன்னேயின் மகனாகிய காலேப் அவனை நோக்கி: காதேஸ்பர்னேயாவிலே யெகோவா என்னைக்குறித்தும் உம்மைக்குறித்தும் தேவனுடைய மனிதனாகிய மோசேயிடம் சொன்ன வார்த்தையை நீர் அறிவீர்.
7 Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of Jehovah sent me from Kadesh-barnea to search out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in my heart.
௭தேசத்தை வேவுபார்க்கக் யெகோவாவின் ஊழியக்காரனாகிய மோசே என்னைக் காதேஸ்பர்னேயாவிலிருந்து அனுப்புகிறபோது, எனக்கு 40 வயதாக இருந்தது; என் இருதயத்திலுள்ளபடியே அவருக்கு மறுசெய்தி கொண்டுவந்தேன்.
8 And my brethren that had gone up with me made the heart of the people melt; but I wholly followed Jehovah my God.
௮ஆனாலும் என்னோடு வந்த என் சகோதரர்கள் மக்களின் இருதயத்தைப் பயத்தினாலே கரையச்செய்தார்கள்; நானோ என் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவை உத்தமமாகப் பின்பற்றினேன்.
9 And Moses swore on that day, saying, The land whereon thy feet have trodden shall assuredly be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever! for thou hast wholly followed Jehovah my God.
௯அந்த நாளிலே மோசே: நீ என் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவை உத்தமமாகப் பின்பற்றினபடியினால், உன் கால் மிதித்த தேசம் உனக்கும் உன் பிள்ளைகளுக்கும் என்றென்றைக்கும் சொந்தமாக இருக்கட்டும் என்று சொல்லி ஆணையிட்டார்.
10 And now behold, Jehovah has kept me alive, as he said, these forty-five years, since Jehovah spoke this word to Moses, when Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now behold, I am this day eighty-five years old.
௧0இப்போதும், இதோ, யெகோவா சொன்னபடியே என்னை உயிரோடு காத்தார்; இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் வனாந்திரத்தில் நடந்தபோது, யெகோவா அந்த வார்த்தையை மோசேயிடம் சொல்லி இப்பொழுது 45 வருடங்கள் ஆனது; இதோ, இன்று நான் எண்பத்தைந்து வயதுள்ளவன்.
11 I am still this day strong, as in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out and to come in.
௧௧மோசே என்னை அனுப்புகிற நாளில், எனக்கு இருந்த அந்த பெலன் இந்தநாள்வரை எனக்கு இருக்கிறது; யுத்தத்திற்குப் போக்கும் வரத்துமாக இருக்கிறதற்கு அப்பொழுது எனக்கு இருந்த பெலன் இப்பொழுதும் எனக்கு இருக்கிறது.
12 And now give me this mountain, of which Jehovah spoke in that day; for thou heardest in that day that Anakim are there, and great fortified cities. If so be Jehovah shall be with me, then I shall dispossess them, as Jehovah said.
௧௨ஆகவே யெகோவா அந்த நாளிலே சொன்ன இந்த மலைநாட்டை எனக்குத்தாரும்; அங்கே ஏனாக்கியர்களும், பாதுகாப்பான பெரிய பட்டணங்களும் உண்டென்று நீர் அந்த நாளிலே கேள்விப்பட்டீரே; யெகோவா என்னோடு இருப்பாரானால், யெகோவா சொன்னபடி, அவர்களைத் துரத்திவிடுவேன் என்றான்.
13 And Joshua blessed him, and gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for an inheritance.
௧௩அப்பொழுது யோசுவா: எப்புன்னேயின் மகனாகிய காலேபை ஆசீர்வதித்து, எபிரோனை அவனுக்குப் பங்காகக் கொடுத்தான்.
14 Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he wholly followed Jehovah the God of Israel.
௧௪ஆகவே கேனாசியனான எப்புன்னேயின் மகனாகிய காலேப் இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவை உத்தமமாகப் பின்பற்றினபடியினால், இந்த நாள்வரை இருக்கிறபடி, எபிரோன் அவனுக்குச் சொந்தமானது.
15 Now the name of Hebron before was Kirjath-Arba; the great man among the Anakim. And the land rested from war.
௧௫முன்னே எபிரோனுக்குக் கீரியாத் அர்பா என்ற பெயர் இருந்தது; அர்பா என்பவன் ஏனாக்கியர்களுக்குள்ளே பெரிய மனிதனாக இருந்தான்; யுத்தம் ஓய்ந்ததினால் தேசம் அமைதலாக இருந்தது.
