John 8
1 But Jesus went to the mount of Olives.
ಯೇಸುವಾದರೋ ಓಲಿವ್ ಮರಗಳ ಗುಡ್ಡಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದರು.
2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came to him; and he sat down and taught them.
ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಯೇಸು ತಿರುಗಿ ದೇವಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರು ಅವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು. ಯೇಸು ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಿದರು.
3 And the scribes and the Pharisees bring [to him] a woman taken in adultery, and having set her in the midst,
ಆಗ ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯನ್ನು ನಿಯಮ ಬೋಧಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಫರಿಸಾಯರು ಹಿಡಿದು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಂದು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ನಡುವೆ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದರು.
4 they say to him, Teacher, this woman has been taken in the very act, committing adultery.
ಅವರು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ಬೋಧಕರೇ, ಈ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡುವಾಗಲೇ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಬಿದ್ದಳು.
5 Now in the law Moses has commanded us to stone such; thou therefore, what sayest thou?
ಇಂಥವರನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಲೆಸೆದು ಕೊಲ್ಲಬೇಕೆಂದು ಮೋಶೆಯು ನಿಯಮದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಏನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀರಿ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
6 But this they said proving him, that they might have [something] to accuse him [of]. But Jesus, having stooped down, wrote with his finger on the ground.
ಅವರು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಮಾತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಸಿ ತಪ್ಪು ಹೊರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದೇ ಹೀಗೆ ಕೇಳಿದರು. ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ಬಗ್ಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಬೆರಳಿನಿಂದ ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರೆಯುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದರು.
7 But when they continued asking him, he lifted himself up and said to them, Let him that is without sin among you first cast the stone at her.
ಅವರು ಬಿಡದೆ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಿರಲು ಯೇಸು ನೆಟ್ಟಗೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು, “ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಪವಿಲ್ಲದವನು ಯಾರಿದ್ದಾನೋ ಅವನೇ ಮೊದಲು ಇವಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಲ್ಲು ಎಸೆಯಲಿ,” ಎಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
8 And again stooping down he wrote on the ground.
ತಿರುಗಿ ಯೇಸು ಬಗ್ಗಿಕೊಂಡು ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರೆಯತೊಡಗಿದರು.
9 But they, having heard [that], went out one by one beginning from the elder ones until the last; and Jesus was left alone and the woman standing there.
ಅದನ್ನು ಅವರು ಕೇಳಿ ಹಿರಿಯರು ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಕಿರಿಯರವರೆಗೂ ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬರಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದರು; ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಒಬ್ಬರೇ ಉಳಿದರು. ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದಳು.
10 And Jesus, lifting himself up and seeing no one but the woman, said to her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? Has no one condemned thee?
ಯೇಸು ನೆಟ್ಟಗೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ಅಮ್ಮಾ ಅವರು ಎಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ? ನಿನಗೆ ಯಾರೂ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ವಿಧಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?” ಎಂದರು.
11 And she said, No one, sir. And Jesus said to her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಕೆಯು, “ಸ್ವಾಮಿ, ಯಾರೂ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ವಿಧಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದಳು. ಯೇಸು ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ನಾನೂ ನಿನಗೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ವಿಧಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಹೋಗು; ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ಪಾಪ ಮಾಡಬೇಡ,” ಎಂದರು.
12 Again therefore Jesus spoke to them, saying, I am the light of the world; he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
ಯೇಸು ಪುನಃ ಜನರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾ, “ನಾನೇ ಲೋಕದ ಬೆಳಕಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುವವರು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಕತ್ತಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ಜೀವದ ಬೆಳಕನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವರು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
13 The Pharisees therefore said to him, Thou bearest witness concerning thyself; thy witness is not true.
ಫರಿಸಾಯರು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ನೀನೇ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿರುವೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಸತ್ಯವಾದುದ್ದಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
14 Jesus answered and said to them, Even if I bear witness concerning myself, my witness is true, because I know whence I came and whither I go: but ye know not whence I come and whither I go.
ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಾನೇ ನನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ನಾನು ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ನೀಡಿದರೂ ನನ್ನ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಸತ್ಯವಾದದ್ದು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದೆ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೋ ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದು.
15 Ye judge according to the flesh, I judge no one.
ನೀವು ಮಾನವ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೀರ್ಪು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀರಿ. ನಾನು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ತೀರ್ಪು ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
16 And if also I judge, my judgment is true, because I am not alone, but I and the Father who has sent me.
ನಾನು ತೀರ್ಪು ಮಾಡಿದರೂ ನನ್ನ ತೀರ್ಪು ಸತ್ಯವಾದದ್ದೇ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಒಂಟಿಗನಲ್ಲ. ನಾನೂ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ತಂದೆಯೂ ಇದ್ದೇವೆ.
17 And in your law too it is written that the testimony of two men is true:
‘ಇಬ್ಬರ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಸತ್ಯವಾದದ್ದು’ ಎಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಿಯಮದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಬರೆದಿದೆ.
18 I am [one] who bear witness concerning myself, and the Father who has sent me bears witness concerning me.
ನನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ನೀಡುವವನು ನಾನೇ ಮತ್ತು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ತಂದೆಯೂ ನನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾರೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
19 They said to him therefore, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye know neither me nor my Father. If ye had known me, ye would have known also my Father.
ಆಗ ಅವರು, “ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ಎಲ್ಲಿ?” ಎಂದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ತಿಳಿದಿಲ್ಲ, ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದರೆ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಸಹ ತಿಳಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರಿ,” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
20 These words spoke he in the treasury, teaching in the temple; and no one took him, for his hour was not yet come.
ಯೇಸು ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಕಾಣಿಕೆ ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನಿಟ್ಟ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೋಧಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಸಮಯ ಇನ್ನೂ ಬಾರದಿದ್ದ ಕಾರಣ ಯಾರೂ ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
21 He said therefore again to them, I go away, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sin; where I go ye cannot come.
ಯೇಸು ತಿರುಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವಿರಿ ಮತ್ತು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಾಪದಲ್ಲೇ ನೀವು ಸಾಯುವಿರಿ. ನಾನು ಹೋಗುವಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ನೀವು ಬರಲಾರಿರಿ,” ಎಂದರು.
22 The Jews therefore said, Will he kill himself, that he says, Where I go ye cannot come?
ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು, “ಈತನು ಆತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದಾನೋ? ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ‘ನಾನು ಹೋಗುವಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ನೀವು ಬರಲಾರಿರಿ,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನಲ್ಲಾ?” ಎಂದರು.
23 And he said to them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above. Ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಕೆಳಗಿನವರು, ನಾನು ಮೇಲಿನವನು. ನೀವು ಈ ಲೋಕದವರು, ನಾನು ಈ ಲೋಕದವನಲ್ಲ.
24 I said therefore to you, that ye shall die in your sins; for unless ye shall believe that I am [he], ye shall die in your sins.
ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ, ‘ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಾಪಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಸಾಯುವಿರಿ,’ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದೆನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಂಬದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಾಪಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಸಾಯುವಿರಿ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
25 They said therefore to him, Who art thou? [And] Jesus said to them, Altogether that which I also say to you.
ಅವರು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಯಾರು?” ಎಂದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಮೊದಲಿನಿಂದ ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದಂತವನೇ.
26 I have many things to say and to judge concerning you, but he that has sent me is true, and I, what I have heard from him, these things I say to the world.
ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ತೀರ್ಪುಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ನನಗೆ ಅನೇಕ ವಿಷಯಗಳಿವೆ. ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ತಂದೆಯು ಸತ್ಯವಂತರು. ನಾನು ಅವರಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿದವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರವೇ ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
27 They knew not that he spoke to them of the Father.
ಯೇಸು ತಂದೆಯ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರೆಂದು ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲ.
28 Jesus therefore said to them, When ye shall have lifted up the Son of man, then ye shall know that I am [he], and [that] I do nothing of myself, but as the Father has taught me I speak these things.
ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಮನುಷ್ಯಪುತ್ರನಾದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನೀವು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೇರಿಸಿದಾಗ ‘ನಾನೇ ಆತನು’ ಎಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯುವುದು. ನನ್ನಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನೇ ಏನೂ ಮಾಡದೆ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನನಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ನಾನು ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದೂ ನೀವು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿರಿ.
29 And he that has sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, because I do always the things that are pleasing to him.
ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ತಂದೆ ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಒಬ್ಬಂಟಿಗನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿದವುಗಳನ್ನೇ ನಾನು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
30 As he spoke these things many believed on him.
ಯೇಸು ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗಲೇ ಅನೇಕರು ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಟ್ಟರು.
31 Jesus therefore said to the Jews who believed him, If ye abide in my word, ye are truly my disciples;
ಯೇಸು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಂಬಿದ್ದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, “ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ವಾಕ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಾಗುವಿರಿ.
32 and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.
ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನೀವು ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿರಿ; ಸತ್ಯವು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರರಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವುದು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
33 They answered him, We are Abraham's seed, and have never been under bondage to any one; how sayest thou, Ye shall become free?
ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ನಾವು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಸಂತತಿಯವರು, ನಾವು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಎಂದೂ ಗುಲಾಮರಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ನೀವು ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರರಾಗುವಿರಿ ಎಂದು ನೀನು ಹೇಳುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say to you, Every one that practises sin is the bondman of sin.
ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ, “ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಪಾಪ ಮಾಡುವವರು ಪಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಗುಲಾಮರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಗುಲಾಮರು ಕುಟುಂಬದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ಪುತ್ರನು ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿ ಇರುತ್ತಾನೆ. (aiōn g165)
36 If therefore the Son shall set you free, ye shall be really free.
ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ದೇವಪುತ್ರನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ, ನಿಜವಾಗಿ ನೀವು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗುವಿರಿ.
37 I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word has no entrance in you.
ನೀವು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಸಂತತಿಯವರೆಂದು ನಾನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು. ಆದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ವಾಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ಥಳವಿಲ್ಲದ ಕಾರಣ ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಲು ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತೀರಿ.
38 I speak what I have seen with my Father, and ye then do what ye have seen with your father.
ನಾನು ತಂದೆಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡದ್ದನ್ನೇ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನೀವಾದರೋ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀರಿ,” ಎಂದರು.
39 They answered and said to him, Abraham is our father. Jesus says to them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham;
ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ನಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆ,” ಎಂದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಮಾಡಿದ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳನ್ನೇ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಿರಿ.
40 but now ye seek to kill me, a man who has spoken the truth to you, which I have heard from God: this did not Abraham.
ಆದರೆ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿದ ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಈಗ ಕೊಲ್ಲಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತೀರಿ. ಇಂತಹ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
41 Ye do the works of your father. They said [therefore] to him, We are not born of fornication; we have one father, God.
ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀರಿ,” ಎಂದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕವರು, “ನಾವು ಅನೈತಿಕತೆಯಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವರಲ್ಲ. ನಮಗೆ ದೇವರೇ ತಂದೆ,” ಎಂದು ಪ್ರತಿಭಟಿಸಿದರು.
42 Jesus said to them, If God were your father ye would have loved me, for I came forth from God and am come [from him]; for neither am I come of myself, but he has sent me.
ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಿರಿ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾನು ದೇವರಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಬಂದಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನಾನು ನನ್ನಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ದೇವರೇ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದು.
43 Why do ye not know my speech? Because ye cannot hear my word.
ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳದಿರುವುದು ಯಾಕೆ? ನಾನು ಹೇಳುವುದನ್ನು ನೀವು ಕೇಳದೇ ಇರುವುದೇ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ.
44 Ye are of the devil, as [your] father, and ye desire to do the lusts of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks falsehood, he speaks of what is his own; for he is a liar and its father:
ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಪಿಶಾಚನಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದವರಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯ ಆಶೆಗಳನ್ನೇ ನೀವು ಮಾಡಬಯಸುತ್ತೀರಿ. ಅವನು ಆದಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಕೊಲೆಗಾರನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಸತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ಯವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಅವನು ಸುಳ್ಳಾಡುವಾಗ ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಭಾವಾನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಆಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅವನು ಸುಳ್ಳುಗಾರನೂ ಸುಳ್ಳಿನ ತಂದೆಯೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
45 and because I speak the truth, ye do not believe me.
ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವವನಾದ್ದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಂಬುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
46 Which of you convinces me of sin? If I speak truth, why do ye not believe me?
ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಪವಿದೆಯೆಂದು ರುಜುವಾತು ಪಡಿಸುವವರು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಿದ್ದಾರೆ? ನಾನು ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನೇ ಹೇಳುವುದಾದರೆ ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಏಕೆ ನಂಬುವುದಿಲ್ಲ?
47 He that is of God hears the words of God: therefore ye hear [them] not, because ye are not of God.
ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದವನು ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ನೀವು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದವರಲ್ಲ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
48 The Jews answered and said to him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan and hast a demon?
ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೂದಿ ನಾಯಕರು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದವನು ಮತ್ತು ನಿನಗೆ ದೆವ್ವ ಹಿಡಿದಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನಾವು ಹೇಳುವುದು ಸರಿಯಲ್ಲವೇ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
49 Jesus answered, I have not a demon; but I honour my Father, and ye dishonour me.
ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು, “ನನಗೆ ದೆವ್ವ ಹಿಡಿದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಅವಮಾನಪಡಿಸುತ್ತೀರಿ.
50 But I do not seek my own glory: there is he that seeks and judges.
ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ನನಗೆ ಮಹಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವವರು ಒಬ್ಬರಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಅವರೇ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸುವವರು.
51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If any one shall keep my word, he shall never see death. (aiōn g165)
ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಯಾರು ನನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಪಾಲಿಸುತ್ತಾರೋ ಅವರು ಎಂದೆಂದಿಗೂ ಮರಣವನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದರು. (aiōn g165)
52 The Jews therefore said to him, Now we know that thou hast a demon. Abraham has died, and the prophets, and thou sayest, If any one keep my word, he shall never taste death. (aiōn g165)
ಆಗ ಯೆಹೂದಿ ನಾಯಕರು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ನಿನಗೆ ದೆವ್ವ ಹಿಡಿದಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನಮಗೆ ಈಗ ತಿಳಿಯಿತು. ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ಸತ್ತರು. ಆದರೆ, ‘ಯಾರಾದರೂ ನನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಪಾಲಿಸಿದರೆ ಅವರು ಎಂದೆಂದಿಗೂ ಮರಣ ಹೊಂದುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,’ ಎಂದು ನೀನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀಯಲ್ಲಾ? (aiōn g165)
53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, who has died? and the prophets have died: whom makest thou thyself?
ಸತ್ತು ಹೋದ ನಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ನೀನು ದೊಡ್ಡವನೋ? ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳೂ ಸತ್ತುಹೋದರು. ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಯಾರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವೆ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
54 Jesus answered, If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing: it is my Father who glorifies me, [of] whom ye say, He is our God.
ಯೇಸು, “ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಾನೇ ಮಹಿಮೆಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ನನ್ನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯು ಏನೂ ಅಲ್ಲ. ನೀವು ಯಾರನ್ನು, ‘ಅವರೇ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರು’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀರೋ ಆ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯೇ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಮಹಿಮೆ ಪಡಿಸುವವರು.
55 And ye know him not; but I know him; and if I said, I know him not, I should be like you, a liar. But I know him, and I keep his word.
ನೀವು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅರಿತುಕೊಂಡಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅರಿತಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅರಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾನೂ ಸುಳ್ಳುಗಾರನಾಗುವೆನು. ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಅರಿತಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಅವರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಪಾಲಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ.
56 Your father Abraham exulted in that he should see my day, and he saw and rejoiced.
ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ನನ್ನ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವನೆಂದು ಆನಂದಿಸಿದನು ಮತ್ತು ಅದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಉಲ್ಲಾಸಪಟ್ಟನು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
57 The Jews therefore said to him, Thou hast not yet fifty years, and hast thou seen Abraham?
ಆಗ ಯೆಹೂದಿ ನಾಯಕರು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ನಿನಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಐವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ, ನೀನು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನನ್ನು ಕಂಡಿದ್ದೀಯಾ?” ಎಂದರು.
58 Jesus said to them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಹುಟ್ಟುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚೆಯೇ ನಾನು ಇದ್ದೇನೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
59 They took up therefore stones that they might cast [them] at him; but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple, [going through the midst of them, and thus passed on.]
ಆಗ ಅವರು ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಎಸೆಯಲು ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ಅಡಗಿಕೊಂಡು ದೇವಾಲಯದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದರು.
