John 8
1 But Jesus went to the mount of Olives.
೧ಯೇಸು ಎಣ್ಣೆಮರಗಳ ಗುಡ್ಡಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.
2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came to him; and he sat down and taught them.
೨ಬೆಳಗಿನಜಾವದಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನು ತಿರುಗಿ ದೇವಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರು ಆತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು. ಆತನು ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಿದನು.
3 And the scribes and the Pharisees bring [to him] a woman taken in adultery, and having set her in the midst,
೩ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳೂ ಮತ್ತು ಫರಿಸಾಯರೂ ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಬಿದ್ದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಹೆಂಗಸನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಆತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಂದು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಅವರ ಗುಂಪಿನ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ;
4 they say to him, Teacher, this woman has been taken in the very act, committing adultery.
೪ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ಬೋಧಕನೇ, ಈ ಸ್ತ್ರೀ ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಬಿದ್ದಳು.
5 Now in the law Moses has commanded us to stone such; thou therefore, what sayest thou?
೫ಇಂಥವರನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಲೆಸೆದು ಕೊಲ್ಲಬೇಕೆಂದು ಮೋಶೆಯು ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಈಕೆಯ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಏನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀ?” ಎಂದು ಆತನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
6 But this they said proving him, that they might have [something] to accuse him [of]. But Jesus, having stooped down, wrote with his finger on the ground.
೬ಅವರು ಆತನನ್ನು ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುವವರಾಗಿ ಆತನ ಮೇಲೆ ತಪ್ಪುಹೊರಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದೇ ಹೀಗೆ ಕೇಳಿದರು. ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ಬಗ್ಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಬೆರಳಿನಿಂದ ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರೆಯುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದನು.
7 But when they continued asking him, he lifted himself up and said to them, Let him that is without sin among you first cast the stone at her.
೭ಅವರು ಆತನನ್ನು ಬಿಡದೆ ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ಆತನು ನೆಟ್ಟಗೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು, ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಪವಿಲ್ಲದವನು ಯಾರಿದ್ದಾನೋ ಅವನೇ ಮೊದಲು ಆಕೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಲ್ಲು ಎಸೆಯಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು
8 And again stooping down he wrote on the ground.
೮ತಿರುಗಿ ಆತನು ಬಗ್ಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಬೆರಳಿನಿಂದ ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರೆಯುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದನು.
9 But they, having heard [that], went out one by one beginning from the elder ones until the last; and Jesus was left alone and the woman standing there.
೯ಅದನ್ನು ಅವರು ಕೇಳಿ ಹಿರಿಯರು ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬರಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದರು; ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಒಬ್ಬನೇ ಉಳಿದನು. ಆ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದಳು.
10 And Jesus, lifting himself up and seeing no one but the woman, said to her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? Has no one condemned thee?
೧೦ಯೇಸು ನೆಟ್ಟಗೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು ಆಕೆಗೆ, “ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯೇ, ಅವರು ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು? ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಖಂಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾರೂ ಉಳಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?” ಎಂದನು.
11 And she said, No one, sir. And Jesus said to her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
೧೧ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಕೆಯು “ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಯಾರೂ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ವಿಧಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದಳು. ಯೇಸು ಆಕೆಗೆ “ನಾನೂ ಸಹ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ವಿಧಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಹೋಗು, ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ಪಾಪಮಾಡಬೇಡ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
12 Again therefore Jesus spoke to them, saying, I am the light of the world; he that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
೧೨ಯೇಸು ಪುನಃ ಜನರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾ, “ನಾನೇ ಲೋಕದ ಬೆಳಕಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುವವನು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಕತ್ತಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಜೀವದ ಬೆಳಕನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುವನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
13 The Pharisees therefore said to him, Thou bearest witness concerning thyself; thy witness is not true.
೧೩ಫರಿಸಾಯರು ಆತನಿಗೆ “ನಿನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ನೀನೇ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿರುವೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ನಿಜವಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು
14 Jesus answered and said to them, Even if I bear witness concerning myself, my witness is true, because I know whence I came and whither I go: but ye know not whence I come and whither I go.
೧೪ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ “ನನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ನಾನು ಸಾಕ್ಷಿನೀಡಿದರೂ, ನನ್ನ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಸತ್ಯವಾದದ್ದು. ನಾನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ, ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದೆನೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೋ ಎಂಬುದು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದು.
15 Ye judge according to the flesh, I judge no one.
೧೫ನೀವು ಶಾರೀರಿಕ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೀರ್ಪು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೀರಿ, ನಾನು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ತೀರ್ಪು ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
16 And if also I judge, my judgment is true, because I am not alone, but I and the Father who has sent me.
೧೬ನಾನು ತೀರ್ಪು ಮಾಡಿದರೂ ನನ್ನ ತೀರ್ಪು ಸತ್ಯವಾದದ್ದೇ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಒಬ್ಬಂಟಿಗನಲ್ಲ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯೂ ನನ್ನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ.
17 And in your law too it is written that the testimony of two men is true:
೧೭ಇಬ್ಬರ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯು ಸತ್ಯವಾದದ್ದು ಎಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಬರೆದಿದೆ.
18 I am [one] who bear witness concerning myself, and the Father who has sent me bears witness concerning me.
೧೮ನನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ನೀಡುವವನು ನಾನೇ ಮತ್ತು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ತಂದೆಯೂ ನನ್ನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾನೆ” ಎಂದನು.
19 They said to him therefore, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye know neither me nor my Father. If ye had known me, ye would have known also my Father.
೧೯ಅವರು, “ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆ ಎಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ?” ಎಂದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು, “ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನೂ ತಿಳಿದಿಲ್ಲ ಹಾಗೂ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನೂ ತಿಳಿದಿಲ್ಲ. ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದರೆ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನೂ ಸಹ ತಿಳಿದಿರುವಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
20 These words spoke he in the treasury, teaching in the temple; and no one took him, for his hour was not yet come.
೨೦ಯೇಸು ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯ ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳು ಇರುವ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೋಧನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಆದರೆ ಆತನ ಸಮಯ ಇನ್ನೂ ಬಾರದೆ ಇದ್ದ ಕಾರಣ ಯಾರೂ ಆತನನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
21 He said therefore again to them, I go away, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sin; where I go ye cannot come.
೨೧ಯೇಸು ತಿರುಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆ, ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವಿರಿ ಮತ್ತು ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಾಪದಲ್ಲೇ ಸಾಯುವಿರಿ. ನಾನು ಹೋಗುವಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ನೀವು ಬರಲಾರಿರಿ” ಎಂದನು.
22 The Jews therefore said, Will he kill himself, that he says, Where I go ye cannot come?
೨೨ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು, “ನಾವು ಹೋಗುವಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ನೀವು ಬರಲಾರಿರೆಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನಲ್ಲಾ? ಇವನು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಾನೇ ಕೊಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದಾನೋ?” ಎಂದು ಮಾತನಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
23 And he said to them, Ye are from beneath; I am from above. Ye are of this world; I am not of this world.
೨೩ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಕೆಳಗಿನವರು; ನಾನು ಮೇಲಿನಿಂದ ಬಂದವನು. ನೀವು ಈ ಲೋಕದವರು; ನಾನು ಈ ಲೋಕದವನಲ್ಲ.
24 I said therefore to you, that ye shall die in your sins; for unless ye shall believe that I am [he], ye shall die in your sins.
೨೪ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಾಪಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಸಾಯುವಿರೆಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಾನು ಹೇಳಿದೆನು. ನೀವುನನ್ನನ್ನು ಯಾರೆಂದು ನಂಬದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಾಪಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಸಾಯುವಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
25 They said therefore to him, Who art thou? [And] Jesus said to them, Altogether that which I also say to you.
೨೫ಆಗ ಅವರು ಆತನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಯಾರು?” ಎನ್ನಲೂ, ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಮೊದಲಿನಿಂದಲೇನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದಂಥದ್ದೇ.
26 I have many things to say and to judge concerning you, but he that has sent me is true, and I, what I have heard from him, these things I say to the world.
೨೬ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ತೀರ್ಪು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಅನೇಕ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳು ನನಗುಂಟು. ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಾತನು ಸತ್ಯವಂತನು. ಆತನಿಂದ ನಾನು ಕೇಳಿದವುಗಳನ್ನೇ ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ” ಎಂದನು.
27 They knew not that he spoke to them of the Father.
೨೭ಆತನು ತಂದೆಯ ಕುರಿತಾಗಿ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದನೆಂದು ಅವರು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
28 Jesus therefore said to them, When ye shall have lifted up the Son of man, then ye shall know that I am [he], and [that] I do nothing of myself, but as the Father has taught me I speak these things.
೨೮ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನನ್ನು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆತ್ತಿದಾಗ, ನಾನೇ ಆತನೆಂದೂ, ನನ್ನಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನೇ ಏನೂ ಮಾಡಲಾರೆನೆಂದು ನೀವು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿರಿ. ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ನನಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಿದ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳನ್ನೇ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.
29 And he that has sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, because I do always the things that are pleasing to him.
೨೯ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟಾತನು ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ. ನಾನು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಕೆಯಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಮಾಡುವುದರಿಂದ, ಆತನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಒಬ್ಬಂಟಿಗನಾಗಿ ಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದನು.
30 As he spoke these things many believed on him.
೩೦ಆತನು ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗಲೇ ಅನೇಕರು ಆತನಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಟ್ಟರು.
31 Jesus therefore said to the Jews who believed him, If ye abide in my word, ye are truly my disciples;
೩೧ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ನಂಬಿದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ವಾಕ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಗೊಂಡಿರುವುದಾದರೆ, ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಾಗಿರುವಿರಿ.
32 and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.
೩೨ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನೀವು ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿರಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸತ್ಯವು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
33 They answered him, We are Abraham's seed, and have never been under bondage to any one; how sayest thou, Ye shall become free?
೩೩ಅದಕ್ಕವರು ಆತನಿಗೆ, “ನಾವು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಸಂತಾನದವರು ಮತ್ತು ನಾವು ಎಂದೂ ಯಾರಿಗೂ ದಾಸರಾಗಿಲ್ಲ, ನಿಮಗೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗುವುದೆಂದು ನೀನು ಹೇಳುವುದಾದರೂ ಹೇಗೆ?” ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿದರು.
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say to you, Every one that practises sin is the bondman of sin.
೩೪ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು, “ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಪಾಪ ಮಾಡುವವರೆಲ್ಲರು ಪಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ದಾಸರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
೩೫ದಾಸನು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ಮಗನು ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿ ಇರುತ್ತಾನೆ. (aiōn g165)
36 If therefore the Son shall set you free, ye shall be really free.
೩೬ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಮಗನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ, ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗುವುದು.
37 I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word has no entrance in you.
೩೭ನೀವು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಸಂತಾನದವರೆಂದು ನಾನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು, ಆದರೂ ನನ್ನ ವಾಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಳವಿಲ್ಲದ ಕಾರಣ ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನೋಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
38 I speak what I have seen with my Father, and ye then do what ye have seen with your father.
೩೮ನಾನುತಂದೆಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿದ್ದನ್ನೇ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ, ನೀವು ತಂದೆಯಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನೇ ಮಾಡಿರಿ” ಎಂದನು.
39 They answered and said to him, Abraham is our father. Jesus says to them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham;
೩೯ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು, “ನಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನೇ” ಎಂದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಮಾಡಿದಂಥ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
40 but now ye seek to kill me, a man who has spoken the truth to you, which I have heard from God: this did not Abraham.
೪೦ಆದರೂ, ನೀವು ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡದೇ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿದ ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದವನಾದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹುಡುಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
41 Ye do the works of your father. They said [therefore] to him, We are not born of fornication; we have one father, God.
೪೧ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀರಿ” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕವರು, “ನಾವು ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರದಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವರಲ್ಲ. ನಮಗೆ ಒಬ್ಬನೇ ತಂದೆ, ಆತನು ದೇವರೇ” ಎಂದರು.
42 Jesus said to them, If God were your father ye would have loved me, for I came forth from God and am come [from him]; for neither am I come of myself, but he has sent me.
೪೨ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ದೇವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಂದೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಿರಿ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾನು ದೇವರಿಂದಲೇ ಹೊರಟು ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದವನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನನ್ನಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನೇ ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ದೇವರೇ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
43 Why do ye not know my speech? Because ye cannot hear my word.
೪೩ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಯಾಕೆ ಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ? ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ವಾಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡದೆ ಇರುವುದರಿಂದಲೇ.
44 Ye are of the devil, as [your] father, and ye desire to do the lusts of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks falsehood, he speaks of what is his own; for he is a liar and its father:
೪೪ಸೈತಾನನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆ, ನೀವು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದವರಾಗಿದ್ದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯ ದುರಾಶೆಗಳನ್ನೇ ನೀವು ಮಾಡಬಯಸುತ್ತೀರಿ. ಅವನು ಆದಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಕೊಲೆಗಾರನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಸತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಗೊಂಡಿಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ಯವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಭಾವಕ್ಕನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಸುಳ್ಳಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನು ಸುಳ್ಳುಗಾರನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಳ್ಳಿನ ತಂದೆಯೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
45 and because I speak the truth, ye do not believe me.
೪೫ಆದರೂ, ನಾನು ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಂಬುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
46 Which of you convinces me of sin? If I speak truth, why do ye not believe me?
೪೬ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಪವಿದೆಯೆಂದು ಸಮರ್ಥಿಸಬಲ್ಲವರು ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರಿದ್ದಾರೆ? ನಾನು ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನೇ ಹೇಳುವುದಾದರೆ, ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಯಾಕೆ ನಂಬುವುದಿಲ್ಲ?
47 He that is of God hears the words of God: therefore ye hear [them] not, because ye are not of God.
೪೭ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದವನು ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ನೀವು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದವರಲ್ಲದ ಕಾರಣ ನೀವು ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
48 The Jews answered and said to him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan and hast a demon?
೪೮ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು, “ನೀನು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದವನು ಮತ್ತು ನಿನಗೆ ದೆವ್ವಹಿಡಿದಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನಾವು ಹೇಳುವುದು ಸರಿಯಲ್ಲವೋ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
49 Jesus answered, I have not a demon; but I honour my Father, and ye dishonour me.
೪೯ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು; “ನನಗೆ ದೆವ್ವ ಹಿಡಿದಿಲ್ಲ. ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಅವಮಾನಪಡಿಸುತ್ತೀದ್ದಿರಿ.
50 But I do not seek my own glory: there is he that seeks and judges.
೫೦ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಮಹಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವಾತನು ಒಬ್ಬನಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ಆತನೇ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿ.
51 Verily, verily, I say unto you, If any one shall keep my word, he shall never see death. (aiōn g165)
೫೧ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಜನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ನನ್ನ ವಾಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಧೇಯನಾದರೆ ಅವನು ನಿತ್ಯಮರಣವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಅಂದನು. (aiōn g165)
52 The Jews therefore said to him, Now we know that thou hast a demon. Abraham has died, and the prophets, and thou sayest, If any one keep my word, he shall never taste death. (aiōn g165)
೫೨ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು “ನೀನು ದೆವ್ವಹಿಡಿದವನೆಂದು ಈಗ ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಿತು. ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಸತ್ತನು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳೂ ಸತ್ತರು, ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ‘ನನ್ನ ವಾಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಧೇಯನಾದರೆ ಅವನು ನಿತ್ಯಮರಣವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀಯಲ್ಲಾ? (aiōn g165)
53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, who has died? and the prophets have died: whom makest thou thyself?
೫೩ಸತ್ತುಹೋದ ನಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯಾದ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ನೀನು ದೊಡ್ಡವನೋ? ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳೂ ಸತ್ತುಹೋದರು, ನಿನ್ನನ್ನೇ ನೀನು ಯಾರೆಂದು ಭಾವಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
54 Jesus answered, If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing: it is my Father who glorifies me, [of] whom ye say, He is our God.
೫೪ಯೇಸು “ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಾನೇ ಮಹಿಮೆಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ನನ್ನ ಮಹಿಮೆಯು ಏನೂ ಅಲ್ಲ. ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಮಹಿಮೆಪಡಿಸುವವನು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯೇ, ನೀವು ಆತನನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರು ಅನ್ನುತ್ತೀರಿ,
55 And ye know him not; but I know him; and if I said, I know him not, I should be like you, a liar. But I know him, and I keep his word.
೫೫ಆದರೂ ನೀವು ಆತನನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ಇದ್ದೀರಿ. ನಾನಂತೂ ಆತನನ್ನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು, ಆತನನ್ನು ಅರಿಯೆನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹಾಗೆ ಸುಳ್ಳುಗಾರನಾಗುವೆನು. ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಆತನನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಆತನ ವಾಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಧೇಯನಾಗುತ್ತೇನೆ.
56 Your father Abraham exulted in that he should see my day, and he saw and rejoiced.
೫೬ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೂಲಪುರುಷನಾದ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ನನ್ನ ದಿನವನ್ನು ತಾನು ನೋಡುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು ಉಲ್ಲಾಸಪಟ್ಟನು ಮತ್ತು ಅದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
57 The Jews therefore said to him, Thou hast not yet fifty years, and hast thou seen Abraham?
೫೭ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು, “ನಿನಗೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ಐವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ, ನೀನು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದ್ದೀಯಾ?” ಅಂದರು.
58 Jesus said to them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
೫೮ಯೇಸು, “ನಿಮಗೆ ನಾನು ನಿಜನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಹುಟ್ಟುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮುಂಚಿನಿಂದಲೂ ನಾನು ಇದ್ದೇನೆ” ಎಂದನು.
59 They took up therefore stones that they might cast [them] at him; but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple, [going through the midst of them, and thus passed on.]
೫೯ಆಗ ಅವರು ಆತನ ಮೇಲೆ ಎಸೆಯಲು, ಕಲ್ಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ಮರೆಯಾಗಿ ದೇವಾಲಯದೊಳಗಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದನು.
