John 3
1 But there was a man from among the Pharisees, his name Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews;
೧ಫರಿಸಾಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಹಿರೀಸಭೆಯವನಾದ ನಿಕೊದೇಮನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿದ್ದನು.
2 he came to him by night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that thou art come a teacher from God, for none can do these signs that thou doest unless God be with him.
೨ಅವನು ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಆತನಿಗೆ, “ಗುರುವೇ, ನೀನು ದೇವರ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಬೋಧಕನೆಂದು ನಾವು ಬಲ್ಲೆವು. ನೀನು ಮಾಡುವಂಥ ಈ ಸೂಚಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ದೇವರ ಸಹಾಯವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಯಾರಿಂದಲೂ ಆಗದು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
3 Jesus answered and said to him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except any one be born anew he cannot see the kingdom of God.
೩ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ನಿಜನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಒಬ್ಬನುಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಹುಟ್ಟದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವನು ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಾಣಲಾರನು,” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
4 Nicodemus says to him, How can a man be born being old? can he enter a second time into the womb of his mother and be born?
೪ನಿಕೊದೇಮನು ಆತನನ್ನು, “ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಮುದುಕನಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಹುಟ್ಟುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ? ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ತಾಯಿಯ ಗರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡನೆಯ ಸಾರಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ ಹುಟ್ಟುವುದಕ್ಕಾದೀತೇ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except any one be born of water and of Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
೫ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು “ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ನಿಜನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಒಬ್ಬನು ನೀರಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಮತ್ತು ಆತ್ಮನಿಂದಲೂ ಹುಟ್ಟದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅವನು ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಲಾರನು.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
೬ದೇಹದಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು ದೇಹವೇ, ಆತ್ಮನಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು ಆತ್ಮವೇ.
7 Do not wonder that I said to thee, It is needful that ye should be born anew.
೭‘ನೀವು ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಬೇಕು’ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯಪಡಬೇಡ
8 The wind blows where it will, and thou hearest its voice, but knowest not whence it comes and where it goes: thus is every one that is born of the Spirit.
೮ಗಾಳಿಯು ಇಷ್ಟ ಬಂದ ಕಡೆ ಬೀಸುತ್ತದೆ. ನೀನು ಅದರ ಶಬ್ದವನ್ನು ಕೇಳುತ್ತೀ, ಆದರೆ ಅದು ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬರುತ್ತದೋ ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತದೋ ನಿನಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದು. ಆತ್ಮನಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅದರಂತೆಯೇ” ಎಂದನು.
9 Nicodemus answered and said to him, How can these things be?
೯ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಕೊದೇಮನು “ಇದೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹೇಗೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯ?” ಎಂದಾಗ,
10 Jesus answered and said to him, Thou art the teacher of Israel and knowest not these things!
೧೦ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ, “ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಬೋಧಕನಾಗಿರುವ ನಿನಗೆ ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳು ತಿಳಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that which we know, and we bear witness of that which we have seen, and ye receive not our witness.
೧೧ನಿನಗೆ ನಿಜನಿಜವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ನಾವು ತಿಳಿದಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತೇವೆ ಮತ್ತು ನೋಡಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಆದರೂ ನೀವು ನಮ್ಮ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
12 If I have said the earthly things to you, and ye believe not, how, if I say the heavenly things to you, will ye believe?
೧೨ನಾನು ಭೂಲೋಕದ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರೆ ನೀವು ನಂಬುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಪರಲೋಕದ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದರೆ ಹೇಗೆ ನಂಬುವಿರಿ?
13 And no one has gone up into heaven, save he who came down out of heaven, the Son of man who is in heaven.
೧೩ಪರಲೋಕದಿಂದ ಇಳಿದು ಬಂದವನೇ, ಅಂದರೆ, ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನೇ ಹೊರತು ಮತ್ತಾರು ಪರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿ ಹೋದವರಿಲ್ಲ.
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, thus must the Son of man be lifted up,
೧೪ಇದಲ್ಲದೆಮೋಶೆಯು ಅಡವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಚಿನ ಸರ್ಪವನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ಎತ್ತಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು ಸಹ ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆ ಎತ್ತಲ್ಪಡಬೇಕು.
೧೫ಹೀಗೆ ಆತನನ್ನು ನಂಬುವವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ನಿತ್ಯಜೀವವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದುವರು. (aiōnios g166)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whosoever believes on him may not perish, but have life eternal. (aiōnios g166)
೧೬“ದೇವರು ಲೋಕದ ಮೇಲೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು ತನ್ನ ಒಬ್ಬನೇ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟನು ಆತನನ್ನು ನಂಬುವ ಒಬ್ಬನಾದರೂ ನಾಶವಾಗದೆ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ನಿತ್ಯಜೀವವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆತನನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟನು. (aiōnios g166)
17 For God has not sent his Son into the world that he may judge the world, but that the world may be saved through him.
೧೭ದೇವರು ತನ್ನ ಮಗನ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆತನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟನೇ ಹೊರತು ಅಪರಾಧಿಯೆಂದು ಖಂಡಿಸಲಿಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ.
18 He that believes on him is not judged: but he that believes not has been already judged, because he has not believed on the name of the only-begotten Son of God.
೧೮ಆತನನ್ನು ನಂಬುವವನಿಗೆ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರ್ಪು ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ನಂಬದವನಿಗೆ ಆಗಲೇ ತೀರ್ಪಾಯಿತು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ಅವನು ದೇವರ ಒಬ್ಬನೇ ಮಗನ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಇಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
19 And this is the judgment, that light is come into the world, and men have loved darkness rather than light; for their works were evil.
೧೯ಆ ತೀರ್ಪು ಏನೆಂದರೆಬೆಳಕು ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದರೂ ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳು ಕೆಟ್ಟವುಗಳಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಬೆಳಕಿಗಿಂತ ಕತ್ತಲೆಯನ್ನೇ ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿದರು.
20 For every one that does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light that his works may not be shewn as they are;
೨೦ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವವರು ತಮ್ಮ ದುಷ್ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳು ಬಹಿರಂಗವಾಗಬಾರದೆಂದು ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಳಕನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
21 but he that practises the truth comes to the light, that his works may be manifested that they have been wrought in God.
೨೧ಆದರೆ ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ ನಡೆಯುವವನು ತಾನು ದೇವರಿಂದ ನಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದವನಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಪಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಾನೆ.”
22 After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he abode with them and baptised.
೨೨ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೇಸು ತನ್ನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರೊಡನೆ ಯೂದಾಯ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಜೊತೆ ಇದ್ದು, ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
23 And John also was baptising in Aenon, near Salim, because there was a great deal of water there; and they came to [him] and were baptised:
೨೩ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಯೋಹಾನನೂ ಸಹ ಸಾಲಿಮ್ ಎಂಬ ಊರಿಗೆ ಹತ್ತಿರವಿರುವ ಐನೋನೆಂಬ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದು ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ನೀರಿತ್ತು. ಜನರು ಬಂದು ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
24 for John was not yet cast into prison.
೨೪ಆಗ ಇನ್ನೂ ಯೋಹಾನನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
25 There was therefore a reasoning of the disciples of John with a Jew about purification.
೨೫ಹೀಗಿರಲಾಗಿ ಯೋಹಾನನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವರಿಗೂ ಒಬ್ಬ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯನಿಗೂ ಶುದ್ಧಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ವಾದ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು.
26 And they came to John and said to him, Rabbi, he who was with thee beyond the Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, he baptises, and all come to him.
೨೬ಆಗ ಅವರು ಯೋಹಾನನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ “ಗುರುವೇ, ಯೊರ್ದನ್ ನದಿಯ ಆಚೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಒಬ್ಬನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಾ, ಇಗೋ, ಆತನು ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ಆತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು
27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing unless it be given him out of heaven.
೨೭ಯೋಹಾನನು “ಪರಲೋಕದಿಂದ ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸದ ಹೊರತು ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಏನ್ನನ್ನೂ ಹೊಂದಲಾರನು.
28 Ye yourselves bear me witness that I said, I am not the Christ, but, that I am sent before him.
೨೮‘ನಾನು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಲ್ಲ,’ ಆದರೆ ‘ಆತನಿಗೆ ಮುಂದಾಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ’ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ನೀವೇ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
29 He that has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices in heart because of the voice of the bridegroom: this my joy then is fulfilled.
೨೯ಮದಲಗಿತ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವನೇ ಮದಲಿಂಗನು. ಆದರೂ ಮದಲಿಂಗನ ಗೆಳೆಯನು ಅವನ ಹತ್ತಿರ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು ಅವನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಮದಲಿಂಗನ ಧ್ವನಿಗೆ ಬಹು ಸಂತೋಷಪಡುತ್ತಾನಲ್ಲವೇ. ಆದಕಾರಣ ಈ ನನ್ನ ಸಂತೋಷವು ಪರಿಪೂರ್ಣವಾಯಿತು.
30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
೩೦ಆತನು ವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗಬೇಕು ನಾನು ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು, ಅಂದನು.
31 He who comes from above is above all. He who has his origin in the earth is of the earth, and speaks [as] of the earth. He who comes out of heaven is above all,
೩೧ಮೇಲಿನಿಂದ ಬರುವವನು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಮೇಲಾದವನು, ಭೂಲೋಕದಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನು ಭೂಲೋಕದವನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಭೂಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಆಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಪರಲೋಕದಿಂದ ಬರುವವನು ಎಲ್ಲವುಗಳಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಮೇಲಾದವನು.
32 [and] what he has seen and has heard, this he testifies; and no one receives his testimony.
೩೨ತಾನು ಕಂಡು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಕೊಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ಆತನ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
33 He that has received his testimony has set to his seal that God is true;
೩೩ಆತನ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದವನು ದೇವರು ಸತ್ಯವಂತನೆಂದು ದೃಢಪಡಿಸುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
34 for he whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives not the Spirit by measure.
೩೪ಹೇಗೆಂದರೆ ದೇವರು ಯಾರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೋ ಆತನಿಗೆ ಆತ್ಮ ವರವನ್ನು ಅಳತೆಮಾಡದೆ ಧಾರಾಳವಾಗಿ ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸುವುದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ದೇವರ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೇ ಆಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.
35 The Father loves the Son, and has given all things [to be] in his hand.
೩೫ತಂದೆಯಾದ ದೇವರು ತನ್ನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಆತನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
36 He that believes on the Son has life eternal, and he that is not subject to the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides upon him. (aiōnios g166)
೩೬ಆತನ ಮಗನನ್ನು ನಂಬುವವನಿಗೆ ನಿತ್ಯಜೀವ ಉಂಟು. ಮಗನಿಗೆ ಅವಿಧೇಯನಾಗುವವನು ಜೀವವನ್ನು ಕಾಣುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ದೇವರ ಕೋಪವು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ನೆಲೆಗೊಂಡಿರುವುದು.” (aiōnios g166)
