Job 8
1 And Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,
১পরে শূহীয় বিলদদ উত্তর দিল এবং বলল,
2 How long wilt thou speak these things? and the words of thy mouth be a strong wind?
২“কতদিন তুমি এইসব কথা বলবে? কতদিন তোমার মুখের কথা ঝড়ো বাতাসের মত বয়ে চলবে?
3 Doth God pervert judgment, and the Almighty pervert justice?
৩ঈশ্বর কি ন্যায়বিচার পরিবর্তন করবেন? সর্বশক্তিমান কি ধার্মিকতার পরিবর্তন করবেন?
4 If thy children have sinned against him, he hath also given them over into the hand of their transgression.
৪তোমার সন্তানরা তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে পাপ করেছে; আমরা জানি তা, তিনি তাদেরকে তাদের পাপের হাতে সমর্পণ করেছেন।
5 If thou seek earnestly unto God, and make thy supplication to the Almighty,
৫কিন্তু যদি তুমি স্বযত্নে ঈশ্বরকে ডাক এবং তোমার অনুরোধ সর্বশক্তিমানের সামনে রাখো।
6 If thou be pure and upright, surely now he will awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous;
৬যদি তুমি শুদ্ধ এবং সরল হও; তাহলে তিনি অবশ্যই তোমার জন্য কাজ করবেন এবং তোমায় পুরস্কৃত করবেন একটি বাড়ি দিয়ে যা সত্যিই তোমারই হবে।
7 And though thy beginning was small, yet thine end shall be very great.
৭এমনকি যদিও তোমার শুরু ছোট ছিল, তবুও তোমার শেষ অবস্থা খুব ভালো হবে।
8 For inquire, I pray thee, of the former generation, and attend to the researches of their fathers;
৮আমি প্রার্থনা করি, আগেকার লোকেদেরকে জিজ্ঞাসা কর; আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষ যা আবিষ্কার করেছেন তা শিখতে যত্ন কর।
9 For we are [but] of yesterday, and know nothing, for our days upon earth are a shadow.
৯আমরা গতকাল জন্মেছি এবং কিছুই জানি না কারণ আমাদের আয়ু পৃথিবীতে ছায়ার মত।
10 Shall not they teach thee, [and] tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?
১০তারা কি তোমায় শেখাবে না এবং বলবে না? তারা কি তাদের হৃদয় থেকে কথা বলবে না?
11 Doth the papyrus shoot up without mire? doth the reed-grass grow without water?
১১জলাভূমি ছাড়া কি নলখাগড়া বাড়তে পারে? জল ছাড়া কি উলুখাগড়া বাড়তে পারে?
12 Whilst it is yet in its greenness [and] not cut down, it withereth before any [other] grass.
১২যখন সেগুলো সতেজ থাকে, তা কাটা হয় না, তারা অন্য যে কোন ঘাসের থেকে আগে শুকিয়ে যায়।
13 So are the paths of all that forget God; and the profane man's hope shall perish,
১৩যারা ঈশ্বরকে ভুলে যায় তাদের রাস্তাও সেই রকম, অধার্ম্মিক লোকের আশা নষ্ট হবে,
14 Whose confidence shall be cut off, and his reliance is a spider's web.
১৪তাদের যাদের আস্থা ভেঙে যায় এবং তাদের যাদের বিশ্বাস দুর্বল যেমন একটা মাকড়সার জালের মত।
15 He shall lean upon his house, and it shall not stand; he shall lay hold on it, but it shall not endure.
১৫সেই রকম লোক নিজের বাড়ির ওপর নির্ভর করবে, কিন্তু তা দাঁড়াবে না; সে শক্ত করে ধরবে, কিন্তু তা টিকবে না।
16 He is full of sap before the sun, and his sprout shooteth forth over his garden;
১৬সূর্য্যের নিচে সে সতেজ এবং তার কান্ড পুরো বাগানে ছড়িয়ে পরে।
17 His roots are entwined about the stoneheap; he seeth the place of stones.
১৭তার শিকড় পাথরের ঢিবি জড়িয়ে ধরে; পাথরের মধ্যে তারা ভালো জায়গা খোঁজে।
18 If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him: I have not seen thee!
১৮কিন্তু যদি এই লোকটি নিজের জায়গায় ধ্বংস হয়, তাহলে সেই জায়গা তাকে অস্বীকার করবে এবং বলবে, আমি কখনও তোমায় দেখিনি।
19 Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the dust shall others grow.
১৯দেখ, এই হয় সেই রকম ব্যক্তির আচরণের আনন্দ, অন্য উদ্ভিদ সেই একই মাটি থেকে অঙ্কুরিত হবে তার জায়গায়।
20 Behold, God will not cast off a perfect man, neither will he take evil-doers by the hand.
২০দেখ, ঈশ্বর নিরীহ মানুষকে তাড়িয়ে দেবেন না; না তিনি পাপীদের হাত গ্রহণ করবেন।
21 Whilst he would fill thy mouth with laughing and thy lips with shouting,
২১তিনি এখনও তোমার মুখ হাঁসিতে পূর্ণ করবেন, তোমার ঠোঁট আনন্দে পূর্ণ করবেন।
22 They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame, and the tent of the wicked be no more.
২২যারা তোমায় ঘৃণা করবে তারা লজ্জায় পরবে; পাপীদের তাঁবু আর থাকবে না।”
