Job 41
1 Wilt thou draw out the leviathan with the hook, and press down his tongue with a cord?
१“फिर क्या तू लिव्यातान को बंसी के द्वारा खींच सकता है, या डोरी से उसका जबड़ा दबा सकता है?
2 Wilt thou put a rush-rope into his nose, and pierce his jaw with a spike?
२क्या तू उसकी नाक में नकेल लगा सकता या उसका जबड़ा कील से बेध सकता है?
3 Will he make many supplications unto thee? or will he speak softly unto thee?
३क्या वह तुझ से बहुत गिड़गिड़ाहट करेगा, या तुझ से मीठी बातें बोलेगा?
4 Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him as a bondman for ever?
४क्या वह तुझ से वाचा बाँधेगा कि वह सदा तेरा दास रहे?
5 Wilt thou play with him as with a bird, and wilt thou bind him for thy maidens?
५क्या तू उससे ऐसे खेलेगा जैसे चिड़िया से, या अपनी लड़कियों का जी बहलाने को उसे बाँध रखेगा?
6 Shall partners make traffic of him, will they divide him among merchants?
६क्या मछुए के दल उसे बिकाऊ माल समझेंगे? क्या वह उसे व्यापारियों में बाँट देंगे?
7 Wilt thou fill his skin with darts, and his head with fish-spears?
७क्या तू उसका चमड़ा भाले से, या उसका सिर मछुए के त्रिशूलों से बेध सकता है?
8 Lay thy hand upon him; remember the battle, — do no more!
८तू उस पर अपना हाथ ही धरे, तो लड़ाई को कभी न भूलेगा, और भविष्य में कभी ऐसा न करेगा।
9 Lo, hope as to him is belied: is not one cast down even at the sight of him?
९देख, उसे पकड़ने की आशा निष्फल रहती है; उसके देखने ही से मन कच्चा पड़ जाता है।
10 None is so bold as to stir him up; and who is he that will stand before me?
१०कोई ऐसा साहसी नहीं, जो लिव्यातान को भड़काए; फिर ऐसा कौन है जो मेरे सामने ठहर सके?
11 Who hath first given to me, that I should repay [him]? [Whatsoever is] under the whole heaven is mine.
११किसने मुझे पहले दिया है, जिसका बदला मुझे देना पड़े! देख, जो कुछ सारी धरती पर है, सब मेरा है।
12 I will not be silent as to his parts, the story of his power, and the beauty of his structure.
१२“मैं लिव्यातान के अंगों के विषय, और उसके बड़े बल और उसकी बनावट की शोभा के विषय चुप न रहूँगा।
13 Who can uncover the surface of his garment? who can come within his double jaws?
१३उसके ऊपर के पहरावे को कौन उतार सकता है? उसके दाँतों की दोनों पाँतियों के अर्थात् जबड़ों के बीच कौन आएगा?
14 Who can open the doors of his face? Round about his teeth is terror.
१४उसके मुख के दोनों किवाड़ कौन खोल सकता है? उसके दाँत चारों ओर से डरावने हैं।
15 The rows of his shields are a pride, shut up together [as with] a close seal.
१५उसके छिलकों की रेखाएँ घमण्ड का कारण हैं; वे मानो कड़ी छाप से बन्द किए हुए हैं।
16 One is so near to another that no air can come between them;
१६वे एक दूसरे से ऐसे जुड़े हुए हैं, कि उनमें कुछ वायु भी नहीं पैठ सकती।
17 They are joined each to its fellow; they stick together, and cannot be sundered.
१७वे आपस में मिले हुए और ऐसे सटे हुए हैं, कि अलग-अलग नहीं हो सकते।
18 His sneezings flash light, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.
१८फिर उसके छींकने से उजियाला चमक उठता है, और उसकी आँखें भोर की पलकों के समान हैं।
19 Out of his mouth go forth flames; sparks of fire leap out:
१९उसके मुँह से जलते हुए पलीते निकलते हैं, और आग की चिंगारियाँ छूटती हैं।
20 Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a boiling pot and cauldron.
२०उसके नथनों से ऐसा धुआँ निकलता है, जैसा खौलती हुई हाण्डी और जलते हुए नरकटों से।
21 His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth.
२१उसकी साँस से कोयले सुलगते, और उसके मुँह से आग की लौ निकलती है।
22 In his neck lodgeth strength, and terror danceth before him.
२२उसकी गर्दन में सामर्थ्य बनी रहती है, और उसके सामने डर नाचता रहता है।
23 The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are fused upon him, they cannot be moved.
२३उसके माँस पर माँस चढ़ा हुआ है, और ऐसा आपस में सटा हुआ है जो हिल नहीं सकता।
24 His heart is firm as a stone, yea, firm as the nether [millstone].
२४उसका हृदय पत्थर सा दृढ़ है, वरन् चक्की के निचले पाट के समान दृढ़ है।
25 When he raiseth himself up, the mighty are afraid: they are beside themselves with consternation.
२५जब वह उठने लगता है, तब सामर्थी भी डर जाते हैं, और डर के मारे उनकी सुध-बुध लोप हो जाती है।
26 If any reach him with a sword, it cannot hold; neither spear, nor dart, nor harpoon.
२६यदि कोई उस पर तलवार चलाए, तो उससे कुछ न बन पड़ेगा; और न भाले और न बर्छी और न तीर से।
27 He esteemeth iron as straw, bronze as rotten wood.
२७वह लोहे को पुआल सा, और पीतल को सड़ी लकड़ी सा जानता है।
28 The arrow will not make him flee; slingstones are turned with him into stubble.
२८वह तीर से भगाया नहीं जाता, गोफन के पत्थर उसके लिये भूसे से ठहरते हैं।
29 Clubs are counted as stubble; he laugheth at the shaking of a javelin.
२९लाठियाँ भी भूसे के समान गिनी जाती हैं; वह बर्छी के चलने पर हँसता है।
30 His under parts are sharp potsherds: he spreadeth a threshing-sledge upon the mire.
३०उसके निचले भाग पैने ठीकरे के समान हैं, कीचड़ पर मानो वह हेंगा फेरता है।
31 He maketh the deep to boil like a pot; he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment;
३१वह गहरे जल को हण्डे के समान मथता है उसके कारण नील नदी मरहम की हाण्डी के समान होती है।
32 He maketh the path to shine after him: one would think the deep to be hoary.
३२वह अपने पीछे चमकीली लीक छोड़ता जाता है। गहरा जल मानो श्वेत दिखाई देने लगता है।
33 Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear.
३३धरती पर उसके तुल्य और कोई नहीं है, जो ऐसा निर्भय बनाया गया है।
34 He beholdeth all high things; he is king over all the proud beasts.
३४जो कुछ ऊँचा है, उसे वह ताकता ही रहता है, वह सब घमण्डियों के ऊपर राजा है।”
