Job 41
1 Wilt thou draw out the leviathan with the hook, and press down his tongue with a cord?
“क्या तुम लिवयाथान को मछली पकड़ने की अंकुड़ी से खींच सकोगे? अथवा क्या तुम उसकी जीभ को किसी डोर से बांध सको?
2 Wilt thou put a rush-rope into his nose, and pierce his jaw with a spike?
क्या उसकी नाक में रस्सी बांधना तुम्हारे लिए संभव है, अथवा क्या तुम अंकुड़ी के लिए उसके जबड़े में छेद कर सकते हो?
3 Will he make many supplications unto thee? or will he speak softly unto thee?
क्या वह तुमसे कृपा की याचना करेगा? क्या वह तुमसे शालीनतापूर्वक विनय करेगा?
4 Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him as a bondman for ever?
क्या वह तुमसे वाचा स्थापित करेगा? क्या तुम उसे जीवन भर अपना दास बनाने का प्रयास करोगे?
5 Wilt thou play with him as with a bird, and wilt thou bind him for thy maidens?
क्या तुम उसके साथ उसी रीति से खेल सकोगे जैसे किसी पक्षी से? अथवा उसे अपनी युवतियों के लिए बांधकर रख सकोगे?
6 Shall partners make traffic of him, will they divide him among merchants?
क्या व्यापारी उसके लिए विनिमय करना चाहेंगे? क्या व्यापारी अपने लिए परस्पर उसका विभाजन कर सकेंगे?
7 Wilt thou fill his skin with darts, and his head with fish-spears?
क्या तुम उसकी खाल को बर्छी से बेध सकते हो अथवा उसके सिर को भाले से नष्ट कर सकते हो?
8 Lay thy hand upon him; remember the battle, — do no more!
बस, एक ही बार उस पर अपना हाथ रखकर देखो, दूसरी बार तुम्हें यह करने का साहस न होगा. उसके साथ का संघर्ष तुम्हारे लिए अविस्मरणीय रहेगा.
9 Lo, hope as to him is belied: is not one cast down even at the sight of him?
व्यर्थ है तुम्हारी यह अपेक्षा, कि तुम उसे अपने अधिकार में कर लोगे; तुम तो उसके सामने आते ही गिर जाओगे.
10 None is so bold as to stir him up; and who is he that will stand before me?
कोई भी उसे उकसाने का ढाढस नहीं कर सकता. तब कौन करेगा उसका सामना?
11 Who hath first given to me, that I should repay [him]? [Whatsoever is] under the whole heaven is mine.
उस पर आक्रमण करने के बाद कौन सुरक्षित रह सकता है? आकाश के नीचे की हर एक वस्तु मेरी ही है.
12 I will not be silent as to his parts, the story of his power, and the beauty of his structure.
“उसके अंगों का वर्णन न करने के विषय में मैं चुप रहूंगा, न ही उसकी बड़ी शक्ति तथा उसके सुंदर देह का.
13 Who can uncover the surface of his garment? who can come within his double jaws?
कौन उसके बाह्य आवरण को उतार सकता है? कौन इसके लिए साहस करेगा कि उसमें बागडोर डाल सके?
14 Who can open the doors of his face? Round about his teeth is terror.
कौन उसके मुख के द्वार खोलने में समर्थ होगा, जो उसके भयावह दांतों से घिरा है?
15 The rows of his shields are a pride, shut up together [as with] a close seal.
उसकी पीठ पर ढालें पंक्तिबद्ध रूप से बिछी हुई हैं और ये अत्यंत दृढतापूर्वक वहां लगी हुई हैं;
16 One is so near to another that no air can come between them;
वे इस रीति से एक दूसरे से सटी हुई हैं, कि इनमें से वायु तक नहीं निकल सकती.
17 They are joined each to its fellow; they stick together, and cannot be sundered.
वे सभी एक दूसरे से जुड़ी हुई हैं उन्होंने एक दूसरे को ऐसा जकड़ रखा है; कि इन्हें तोड़ा नहीं जा सकता.
18 His sneezings flash light, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.
उसकी छींक तो आग की लपटें प्रक्षेपित कर देती है; तथा उसके नेत्र उषाकिरण समान दिखते हैं.
19 Out of his mouth go forth flames; sparks of fire leap out:
उसके मुख से ज्वलंत मशालें प्रकट रहती; तथा इनके साथ चिंगारियां भी झड़ती रहती हैं.
20 Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a boiling pot and cauldron.
उसके नाक से धुआं उठता रहता है, मानो किसी उबलते पात्र से, जो जलते हुए सरकंडों के ऊपर रखा हुआ है.
21 His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth.
उसकी श्वास कोयलों को प्रज्वलित कर देती, उसके मुख से अग्निशिखा निकलती रहती है.
22 In his neck lodgeth strength, and terror danceth before him.
उसके गर्दन में शक्ति का निवास है, तो उसके आगे-आगे निराशा बढ़ती जाती है.
23 The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are fused upon him, they cannot be moved.
उसकी मांसपेशियां उसकी देह पर अचल एवं दृढ़,
24 His heart is firm as a stone, yea, firm as the nether [millstone].
और उसका हृदय तो पत्थर समान कठोर है! हां! चक्की के निचले पाट के पत्थर समान!
25 When he raiseth himself up, the mighty are afraid: they are beside themselves with consternation.
जब-जब वह उठकर खड़ा होता है, शूरवीर भयभीत हो जाते हैं. उसके प्रहार के भय से वे पीछे हट जाते हैं.
26 If any reach him with a sword, it cannot hold; neither spear, nor dart, nor harpoon.
उस पर जिस किसी तलवार से प्रहार किया जाता है, वह प्रभावहीन रह जाती है, वैसे ही उस पर बर्छी, भाले तथा बाण भी.
27 He esteemeth iron as straw, bronze as rotten wood.
उसके सामने लौह भूसा समान होता है, तथा कांसा सड़ रहे लकड़ी के समान.
28 The arrow will not make him flee; slingstones are turned with him into stubble.
बाण का भय उसे भगा नहीं सकता. गोफन प्रक्षेपित पत्थर तो उसके सामने काटी उपज के ठूंठ प्रहार समान होता है.
29 Clubs are counted as stubble; he laugheth at the shaking of a javelin.
लाठी का प्रहार भी ठूंठ के प्रहार समान होता है, वह तो बर्छी की ध्वनि सुन हंसने लगता है.
30 His under parts are sharp potsherds: he spreadeth a threshing-sledge upon the mire.
उसके पेट पर जो झुरिया हैं, वे मिट्टी के टूटे ठीकरे समान हैं. कीचड़ पर चलते हुए वह ऐसा लगता है, मानो वह अनाज कुटने का पट्टा समान चिन्ह छोड़ रहा है.
31 He maketh the deep to boil like a pot; he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment;
उसके प्रभाव से महासागर जल, ऐसा दिखता है मानो हांड़ी में उफान आ गया हो. तब सागर ऐसा हो जाता, मानो वह मरहम का पात्र हो.
32 He maketh the path to shine after him: one would think the deep to be hoary.
वह अपने पीछे एक चमकीली लकीर छोड़ता जाता है यह दृश्य ऐसा हो जाता है, मानो यह किसी वृद्ध का सिर है.
33 Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear.
पृथ्वी पर उसके जैसा कुछ भी नहीं है; एकमात्र निर्भीक रचना!
34 He beholdeth all high things; he is king over all the proud beasts.
उसके आंकलन में सर्वोच्च रचनाएं भी नगण्य हैं; वह समस्त अहंकारियों का राजा है.”
