Job 38
1 And Jehovah answered Job out of the whirlwind and said,
১তারপর সদাপ্রভু ইয়োবকে ভয়ঙ্কর ঝড়ের মধ্যে থেকে ডাকলেন এবং বললেন,
2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?
২“এ কে যে জ্ঞানহীন কথা দ্বারা আমার পরিকল্পনায় অন্ধকার নিয়ে আসে?
3 Gird up now thy loins like a man; and I will demand of thee, and inform thou me.
৩তুমি এখন পরুষের মত তোমার কোমর বাঁধ, কারণ আমি তোমায় প্রশ্ন করব এবং তুমি অবশ্যই আমায় উত্তর দেবে।
4 Where wast thou when I founded the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding.
৪যখন আমি পৃথিবীর ভিত স্থাপন করছিলাম তখন তুমি কোথায় ছিলে? যদি তোমার অনেক বুদ্ধি থাকে, তবে আমায় বল।
5 Who set the measures thereof — if thou knowest? or who stretched a line upon it?
৫কে এর মাত্রা নির্ণয় করে? যদি তুমি জান, আমায় বল। কে এটার ওপর মানদন্ডের দাগ টানে?
6 Whereupon were the foundations thereof sunken? or who laid its corner-stone,
৬কিসের ওপর এটার ভিত স্থাপন করা হয়েছে? কে এটার কোনের পাথর স্থাপন করেছে?
7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
৭কখন ভোরের তারারা একসঙ্গে গান গেয়েছিল এবং ঈশ্বরের সন্তানেরা আনন্দে চিত্কার করেছিল?
8 And who shut up the sea with doors, when it burst forth, issuing out of the womb?
৮কে কপাট দিয়ে সমুদ্রকে আটকাল যখন তা বেরিয়ে এসেছিল, যেন তা গর্ভ থেকে বেরিয়ে এসেছিল
9 When I made the cloud its garment, and thick darkness a swaddling band for it;
৯যখন আমি মেঘকে তার বস্ত্র করলাম এবং ঘন অন্ধকার দিয়ে তার পট্টি করলাম?
10 When I cut out for it my boundary, and set bars and doors,
১০যখন আমি এটার সীমা নিরূপন করলাম এবং যখন আমি এটার খিল এবং দরজা স্থাপন করলাম,
11 And said, Hitherto shalt thou come and no further, and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?
১১এবং যখন আমি এটাকে বললাম, তুমি এই পর্যন্ত আসতে পার, কিন্তু তার বেশি নয়; এখানে তোমার গর্বের ঢেউ থামবে।
12 Hast thou since thy days commanded the morning? hast thou caused the dawn to know its place,
১২তোমার জন্মের দিন থেকে, তুমি কি কখনও, ভোর শুরু হওয়ার আদেশ দিয়েছ এবং ভোরকে কি তার জায়গা জানিয়েছ।
13 That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, and the wicked might be shaken out of it?
১৩যাতে এটা পৃথিবীর প্রান্তগুলো ধরতে পারে, যাতে পাপীরা এর থেকে ঝরে পরে?
14 It is changed like the signet-clay; and [all things] stand forth as in a garment:
১৪কাদামাটি যেমন সিলমোহরের দ্বারা পরিবর্তিত হয় তেমন পৃথিবীর আকার পরিবর্তিত হয়েছে; ভাঁজ করা কাপড়ের মত এটার ওপর সমস্ত জিনিস পরিষ্কার ভাবে প্রকাশ পায়।
15 And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the uplifted arm is broken.
১৫পাপীদের থেকে তাদের আলো নিয়ে নেওয়া হয়েছে; তাদের উঁচু হাত ভাঙ্গা হয়েছে।
16 Hast thou entered as far as the springs of the sea? and hast thou walked in the recesses of the deep?
১৬তুমি কি সমুদ্রের জলের উত্স স্থলে গেছো? তুমি কি সমুদ্রের গভীর তলে হেঁটেছ?
17 Have the gates of death been revealed unto thee? and hast thou seen the gates of the shadow of death?
১৭মৃত্যুর দরজা কি তোমার কাছে প্রকাশ পেয়েছে? তুমি কি মৃত্যুচ্ছায়ার দরজা দেখেছ?
18 Hath thine understanding compassed the breadths of the earth? Declare if thou knowest it all.
১৮তুমি কি পৃথিবীর বিস্তার বুঝেছ? তুমি যদি এ সমস্ত জান, তবে আমায় বল।
19 Where is the way to where light dwelleth? and the darkness, where is its place,
১৯আলোর বিশ্রাম স্থানে যাওয়ার পথ কোথায় যেমন অন্ধকারের জন্য, তার বাসস্থান বা কোথায়?
20 That thou shouldest take it to its bound, and that thou shouldest know the paths to its house?
২০তুমি কি আলো এবং অন্ধকারকে তাদের কাজের জায়গায় পরিচালনা করতে পার? তুমি কি তাদের জন্য তাদের ঘরের রাস্তা পেতে পার?
21 Thou knowest, for thou wast then born, and the number of thy days is great!
২১নিঃসন্দেহে তুমি জান, কারণ তুমি তখন জন্মেছিলে; তোমার আয়ুর সংখ্যা অনেক!
22 Hast thou entered into the storehouses of the snow, and hast thou seen the treasuries of the hail,
২২তুমি কি কখনও বরফের জন্য ভান্ডারগৃহে ঢুকেছ অথবা তুমি কি কখনও শিলার জন্য ভান্ডারগৃহ দেখেছ,
23 Which I have reserved for the time of distress, for the day of battle and war?
২৩এই জিনিস গুলো যা আমি কষ্টের দিনের র জন্য রেখেছি, সংগ্রাম এবং যুদ্ধের দিনের র জন্য রেখেছি?
24 By what way is the light parted, [and] the east wind scattered upon the earth?
২৪কোন পথে কোথায় আলো ভাগ হয় অথবা কোথা থেকে পূর্বীয় বাতাস পৃথিবীর ওপর ছড়িয়ে পড়ে?
25 Who hath divided a channel for the rain-flood, and a way for the thunder's flash;
২৫অতিবৃষ্টির জন্য কে খাল কেটেছে, অথবা কে বজ্র-বিদ্যুতের জন্য পথ তৈরী করেছে,
26 To cause it to rain on the earth, where no one is; on the wilderness wherein there is not a man;
২৬যেখানে কোন লোক থাকে না সেখানে বৃষ্টির জন্য এবং প্রান্তরে বৃষ্টির জন্য, যেখানে কেউ থাকে না,
27 To satisfy the desolate and waste [ground], and to cause the sprout of the grass to spring forth?
২৭মরুভূমি এবং নির্জন এলাকার প্রয়োজন মেটানোর উদ্দেশ্যে এবং নরম ঘাস অংকুরিত হওয়ার জন্য?
28 Hath the rain a father? or who begetteth the drops of dew?
২৮বৃষ্টির পিতা কি কেউ আছে? শিশিরবিন্দুর জন্মদাতাই বা কে?
29 Out of whose womb cometh the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who bringeth it forth?
২৯কার গর্ভ থেকে বরফ এসেছে? আকাশের সাদা তুষারের জন্মদাতাই বা কে?
30 When the waters lie hidden as in stone, and the face of the deep holdeth fast together.
৩০জল নিজেদেরকে লুকায় এবং পাথরের মতন হয়; গভীর জলতল কঠিন হয়।
31 Canst thou fasten the bands of the Pleiades, or loosen the cords of Orion?
৩১তুমি কি কৃত্তিকা নক্ষত্রের হার গাঁথতে পার, অথবা কালপুরুষের বাঁধন খুলতে পার?
32 Dost thou bring forth the constellations each in its season? or dost thou guide the Bear with her sons?
৩২তুমি কি নক্ষত্রপুঞ্জকে তাদের সঠিক দিনের প্রকাশ পেতে চালনা দিতে পার? তুমি কি ভাল্লুককে তার বাচ্চাদের সঙ্গে পথ দেখাতে পার?
33 Knowest thou the ordinances of the heavens? dost thou determine their rule over the earth?
৩৩তুমি কি আকাশের নিয়ম জান? তুমি কি আকাশের নিয়ম পৃথিবীতে স্থাপন করতে পার?
34 Dost thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that floods of waters may cover thee?
৩৪তুমি কি মেঘেদের ওপর তোমার স্বর তুলতে পার, যাতে প্রচুর বৃষ্টিরজল তোমাকে ঢাকতে পারে?
35 Dost thou send forth lightnings that they may go, and say unto thee, Here we are?
৩৫তুমি কি বিদ্যুতকে তাদের পথে পাঠাতে পার, তারা তোমায় বলবে, আমরা এখানে?
36 Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the mind?
৩৬মেঘেদের মধ্যে কে জ্ঞান রেখেছে অথবা কুয়াশাকে কে বুদ্ধি দিয়েছে?
37 Who numbereth the clouds with wisdom? or who poureth out the bottles of the heavens,
৩৭কে তার দক্ষতায় মেঘেদের সংখ্যা গুনতে পারে? কে আকাশের কলসি গুলোকে উল্টাতে পারে,
38 When the dust runneth as into a molten mass, and the clods cleave fast together?
৩৮যখন ধূলো শক্ত হয় এবং মাটির তাল এক জায়গায় জমাট বাঁধে?
39 Dost thou hunt the prey for the lioness, and dost thou satisfy the appetite of the young lions,
৩৯সিংহীর জন্য কি তুমি শিকার করতে পার অথবা তার যুবসিংহশাবকদের খিদে মেটাতে পার,
40 When they crouch in [their] dens, [and] abide in the thicket to lie in wait?
৪০যখন তারা তাদের গুহায় গুড়ি মেরে থাকে এবং গুপ্ত জায়গায় শুয়ে অপেক্ষা করে?
41 Who provideth for the raven his food, when his young ones cry unto God, [and] they wander for lack of meat?
৪১কে দাঁড়কাককে শিকার যুগিয়ে দেয়, যখন তাদের বাচ্চারা ঈশ্বরের কাছে চিত্কার করে এবং খাবারের অভাবের জন্য ঘুরতে থাকে?
