Job 34
1 Moreover Elihu answered and said,
Ê-li-hu tiếp lời:
2 Hear my words, ye wise [men]; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.
“Xin lắng nghe tôi, hỡi những người khôn ngoan. Xin lưu ý, hỡi những người tri thức.
3 For the ear trieth words, as the palate tasteth food.
Gióp nói: ‘Tai thử lời nó nghe như miệng phân biệt giữa các thức ăn.’
4 Let us choose for ourselves what is right; let us know among ourselves what is good!
Vậy chúng ta hãy cùng nhận thức điều nào phải, hãy cùng học điều gì tốt lành.
5 For Job hath said, I am righteous, and God hath taken away my judgment:
Vì Gióp đã nói: ‘Tôi vô tội, nhưng Đức Chúa Trời từ khước lẽ công chính tôi.
6 Should I lie against my right? My wound is incurable without transgression.
Tôi vô tội, nhưng họ cho tôi là dối trá. Thương tích tôi không chữa được, dù tôi không có tội.’
7 What man is like Job? he drinketh up scorning like water,
Hãy nói với tôi, có ai giống như Gióp, uống lời mỉa mai như nước lã?
8 And goeth in company with workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.
Anh ấy chọn làm bạn với kẻ gian. Và dành thời gian cho kẻ ác.
9 For he hath said, It profiteth not a man if he delight himself in God.
Anh ấy còn cho rằng: ‘Tại sao phải tốn thời gian để làm vui lòng Đức Chúa Trời?’
10 Therefore hearken unto me, ye men of understanding: Far be wickedness from God, and wrong from the Almighty!
Xin lắng nghe tôi, thưa những người thông hiểu. Mọi người biết rằng Đức Chúa Trời không làm điều ác! Đấng Toàn Năng không hề làm điều sai.
11 For a man's work will he render to him, and cause every one to find according to [his] way.
Chúa thưởng phạt loài người tùy công việc họ làm. Chúa đối xử loài người tùy theo cách họ sống.
12 Yea, surely, God acteth not wickedly, and the Almighty perverteth not judgment.
Thật Đức Chúa Trời không làm điều sai. Đấng Toàn Năng chẳng uốn cong công lý.
13 Who hath entrusted to him the earth? and who hath disposed the whole world?
Ai ủy quyền cho Ngài quản trị địa cầu? Giao trách nhiệm cho Ngài điều khiển thế giới?
14 If he only thought of himself, [and] gathered unto him his spirit and his breath,
Nếu Đức Chúa Trời lấy lại Thần Linh Ngài và thu hồi hơi thở Ngài,
15 All flesh would expire together, and man would return to the dust.
thì chúng sinh đều chết chung nhau và loài người trở về cát bụi.
16 If now [thou hast] understanding, hear this: give ear to the voice of my words!
Xin hãy nghe, nếu anh là người khôn ngoan. Xin chú ý những điều tôi nói.
17 Should he that hateth right indeed govern? and wilt thou condemn the All-just?
Đức Chúa Trời có thể thống trị nếu Ngài ghét công lý không? Anh dám lên án quyền năng công chính sao?
18 Shall one say to a king, Belial? to nobles, Wicked?
Vì có ai nói với vua: ‘Ông là kẻ ác,’ và với người quý tộc: ‘Ông là kẻ bất công.’
19 [How then to him] that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich man more than the poor? for they are all the work of his hands.
Huống chi Chúa không nể vì vua chúa, hoặc quan tâm đến người giàu hơn người nghèo. Vì tất cả đều do Ngài tạo dựng.
20 In a moment they die, even at midnight the people are convulsed and pass away; and the strong are taken away without hand.
Trong khoảnh khắc, họ chết. Giữa đêm khuya họ qua đời; đều khuất bóng, không bàn tay người động đến.
21 For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his steps.
Vì Đức Chúa Trời xem xét cách sống của loài người; Ngài theo dõi từng việc làm của họ.
22 There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
Dù bóng tối mù mịt cũng không giấu nỗi việc ác trước mắt Chúa.
23 For he doth not long consider a man, to bring him before God in judgment.
Không cần chờ đợi lâu, chúng ta sẽ đến trước Đức Chúa Trời trong ngày phán xét.
24 He breaketh in pieces mighty men without inquiry, and setteth others in their stead;
Chúa dùng sức mạnh đập tan người quyền thế, không cần tra hỏi, rồi lập người khác lên thay thế.
25 Since he knoweth their actions; and he overthroweth [them] in the night, and they are crushed.
Chúa biết rõ việc họ làm, và ban đêm, Ngài đánh đổ họ và họ bị hủy diệt.
26 He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others,
Chúa kéo họ xuống vì họ làm ác, trước mắt mọi người.
27 Because they have turned back from him, and would consider none of his ways;
Vì họ trở mặt quay lưng với Chúa. Không quan tâm đến đường lối Ngài.
28 So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted.
Họ khiến người nghèo khó khóc than thấu tận Đức Chúa Trời. Chúa nghe tiếng kêu van của người nghèo khó.
29 When he giveth quietness, who then will disturb? and when he hideth [his] face, who shall behold him? and this towards a nation, or towards a man alike;
Nhưng khi Chúa im lặng, ai dám khuấy động Ngài? Còn khi Ngài ẩn mặt, không ai có thể tìm được Ngài, dù cá nhân hay một quốc gia.
30 That the ungodly man reign not, that the people be not ensnared.
Chúa ngăn kẻ vô đạo cầm quyền, và cho dân đen khỏi bị sập bẫy.
31 For hath he said unto God, I bear [chastisement], I will not offend;
Tại sao con người không thưa với Đức Chúa Trời rằng: ‘Con hối hận, con không làm ác nữa’?
32 What I see not, teach thou me; if I have done wrong, I will do so no more?
Hay ‘Con không biết con đã làm điều ác—xin cho con biết. Con còn gian ác nào, nguyện xin chừa từ đây’?
33 Shall he recompense according to thy mind? for thou hast refused [his judgment]; for thou so choosest, and not I; speak then what thou knowest.
Có phải Đức Chúa Trời thưởng phạt theo điều kiện của anh không? Nhưng anh chẳng chịu ăn năn! Anh quyết định không phải tôi. Vậy nên hãy nói ra điều anh biết.
34 Men of understanding will say to me, and a wise man who heareth me:
Những người thông sáng sẽ nói với tôi, cả những bậc khôn ngoan cũng sẽ nghe tôi nói:
35 Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were not with intelligence.
‘Gióp đã nói lời vô ý thức; lời lẽ anh ấy thiếu sự hiểu biết’
36 Would that Job may be tried unto the end, because of [his] answers after the manner of evil men!
Nguyện Gióp bị thử thách đến cùng vì đã nói như người gian ác.
37 For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth [his hands] among us, and multiplieth his words against God.
Đã phạm tội, anh còn phản loạn; vỗ tay khinh nhạo, và gia tăng lời chống Đức Chúa Trời!”
