< Job 34 >

1 Moreover Elihu answered and said,
Afei Elihu kaa sɛ,
2 Hear my words, ye wise [men]; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge.
“Mo anyansafoɔ, montie me nsɛm; mo animdefoɔ monyɛ aso mma me.
3 For the ear trieth words, as the palate tasteth food.
Ɛfiri sɛ aso sɔ nsɛm hwɛ sɛdeɛ tɛkrɛma ka aduane hwɛ no.
4 Let us choose for ourselves what is right; let us know among ourselves what is good!
Momma yɛnsese nhunu deɛ ɛyɛ ma yɛn. Momma yɛn nyinaa mmɔ mu nsua deɛ ɛyɛ.
5 For Job hath said, I am righteous, and God hath taken away my judgment:
“Hiob kaa sɛ, ‘Me ho nni asɛm, nanso Onyankopɔn abu me ntɛnkyea.
6 Should I lie against my right? My wound is incurable without transgression.
Ɛwom sɛ mʼasɛm da ɛkwan mu, nanso, wɔbu me ɔtorofoɔ; ɛwom sɛ menyɛɛ bɔne biara, nanso ne bɛmma no ama me apirakuro a ɛnnwu da.’
7 What man is like Job? he drinketh up scorning like water,
Onipa bɛn na ɔte sɛ Hiob a ɔnom animtiabuo sɛ nsuo?
8 And goeth in company with workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men.
Ɔne amumuyɛfoɔ nante; na ɔne atirimuɔdenfoɔ nso bɔ.
9 For he hath said, It profiteth not a man if he delight himself in God.
Ɛfiri sɛ ɔka sɛ, ‘Sɛ onipa bɔ mmɔden sɛ ɔbɛsɔ Onyankopɔn ani a ɔnnya ho mfasoɔ biara.’
10 Therefore hearken unto me, ye men of understanding: Far be wickedness from God, and wrong from the Almighty!
“Enti mo mmarima a mowɔ nteaseɛ montie me. Ɛmpare Onyankopɔn sɛ ɔbɛyɛ bɔne, sɛ Otumfoɔ no bɛyɛ mfomsoɔ.
11 For a man's work will he render to him, and cause every one to find according to [his] way.
Nnipa nneyɛeɛ so na ɔhwɛ tua wɔn ka; deɛ ɛfata ne nneyɛeɛ na ɔma ɛba ne so.
12 Yea, surely, God acteth not wickedly, and the Almighty perverteth not judgment.
Ɛmfata sɛ wɔde mfomsoɔ susu Onyankopɔn, na ɛmfata sɛ wɔde ntɛnkyea susu Otumfoɔ.
13 Who hath entrusted to him the earth? and who hath disposed the whole world?
Hwan na ɔde no sii asase so? Hwan na ɔde ewiase nyinaa hyɛɛ ne nsa?
14 If he only thought of himself, [and] gathered unto him his spirit and his breath,
Sɛ ɛyɛɛ ne pɛ na ɔyii ne Honhom ne nʼahome a,
15 All flesh would expire together, and man would return to the dust.
anka adasamma nyinaa bɛbɔ mu ayera, na onipa bɛsane akɔ mfuturo mu.
16 If now [thou hast] understanding, hear this: give ear to the voice of my words!
“Sɛ mowɔ nhunumu a, montie yei; montie deɛ meka.
17 Should he that hateth right indeed govern? and wilt thou condemn the All-just?
Obi a ɔkyiri atɛntenenee bɛtumi adi nnipa so? Mobɛtumi abu Ɔteneneeni kɛseɛ no fɔ anaa?
18 Shall one say to a king, Belial? to nobles, Wicked?
19 [How then to him] that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich man more than the poor? for they are all the work of his hands.
Ɔnhwɛ mmapɔmma anim na ɔnyiyi adefoɔ ne ahiafoɔ mu, ɛfiri sɛ wɔn nyinaa yɛ ne nsa ano adwuma.
20 In a moment they die, even at midnight the people are convulsed and pass away; and the strong are taken away without hand.
Wɔwuwu mmerɛ tiawa bi mu, wɔ anadwo dasuo mu; nnipa no ho woso na wɔsene kɔ; ahoɔdenfoɔ totɔ a ɛmfiri onipa.
21 For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his steps.
“Nʼani hwɛ nnipa akwan; na ɔhunu wɔn anammɔntuo biara.
22 There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
Baabiara nni hɔ a aduru sum, esum kabii, a amumuyɛfoɔ bɛtumi ahinta.
23 For he doth not long consider a man, to bring him before God in judgment.
Ɛho nhia Onyankopɔn sɛ ɔbɛhwehwɛ nnipa mu bio, a enti ɛsɛ sɛ wɔba nʼanim bɛgye atemmuo.
24 He breaketh in pieces mighty men without inquiry, and setteth others in their stead;
Ɔbobɔ aberempɔn gu a ɔnyɛ nhwehwɛmu biara, na ɔde afoforɔ sisi wɔn ananmu.
25 Since he knoweth their actions; and he overthroweth [them] in the night, and they are crushed.
Ɛfiri sɛ ɔhunu wɔn nneyɛeɛ, ɔtu wɔn gu anadwo na wɔdwerɛ wɔn.
26 He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others,
Ɔtua wɔn amumuyɛsɛm so ka wɔ baabi a obiara bɛtumi ahunu wɔn,
27 Because they have turned back from him, and would consider none of his ways;
ɛfiri sɛ, wɔmane firii nʼakyi kɔeɛ na wɔampɛ nʼakwan biara anhwɛ.
28 So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he heareth the cry of the afflicted.
Wɔmaa ahiafoɔ sufrɛ duruu nʼanim na ɛma ɔtee mmɔborɔni su.
29 When he giveth quietness, who then will disturb? and when he hideth [his] face, who shall behold him? and this towards a nation, or towards a man alike;
Nanso sɛ ɔyɛ komm a, hwan na ɔbɛtumi abu no fɔ? Sɛ ɔde nʼanim hinta nso a, hwan na ɔbɛhunu no? Nanso ɔdi onipa ne ɔman so pɛpɛɛpɛ,
30 That the ungodly man reign not, that the people be not ensnared.
ɔmma onipa a ɔnnim Onyame nni ɔhene, sɛdeɛ wɔnnsum nnipa no mfidie.
31 For hath he said unto God, I bear [chastisement], I will not offend;
“Adɛn enti na onipa nka nkyerɛ Onyankopɔn sɛ, ‘Mayɛ bɔne na merenyɛ bɔne bio.
32 What I see not, teach thou me; if I have done wrong, I will do so no more?
Kyerɛ me na menhunu; na sɛ mayɛ bɔne a, merenyɛ saa bio.’
33 Shall he recompense according to thy mind? for thou hast refused [his judgment]; for thou so choosest, and not I; speak then what thou knowest.
Ɛsɛ sɛ Onyankopɔn gyina deɛ wode wʼano aka so tua wo ka, wɔ ɛberɛ a woayɛ sɛ worennu wo ho anaa? Ɛsɛ sɛ wosi gyinaeɛ, ɛnyɛ me; enti ka deɛ wonim kyerɛ me.
34 Men of understanding will say to me, and a wise man who heareth me:
“Nnipa a wɔwɔ nteaseɛ pae mu ka, animdefoɔ a wɔtie me ka kyerɛ me sɛ,
35 Job hath spoken without knowledge, and his words were not with intelligence.
‘Hiob nnkasa nimdeɛ kwan so; aba biara nni ne kasa mu.’
36 Would that Job may be tried unto the end, because of [his] answers after the manner of evil men!
Ao, sɛ wɔsɔɔ Hiob hwɛeɛ kɔɔ akyiri a anka ɛyɛ, ɛfiri sɛ ɔyiyii nsɛm ano sɛ omumuyɛfoɔ!
37 For he addeth rebellion unto his sin, he clappeth [his hands] among us, and multiplieth his words against God.
Ɔde atuateɛ ka ne bɔne ho; ɔde ahantan bɔ ne nsam gu yɛn so na ɔma ne nsɛm a ɔka tia Onyankopɔn no dɔɔso.”
