< Job 33 >

1 Howbeit, Job, I pray thee, hear mine utterances, and hearken to all my words.
Toe Job, ka lok hae tahngai ah; ka thuih ih loknawk boih hae tahngai ah.
2 Behold now, I have opened my mouth, my tongue speaketh in my palate,
Khenah, vaihi pakha ka angh moe, ka palai mah lokthuih.
3 My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart, and my lips shall utter knowledge purely.
4 The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
Sithaw ih Muithla mah ni kai hae sak moe, Thacak Angraeng ih takhi mah hinghaih ang paek.
5 If thou canst, answer me; array [thy words] before me: take thy stand.
6 Behold, before God I am as thou; I also am formed out of the clay.
7 Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, nor my burden be heavy upon thee.
8 Surely thou hast spoken in my hearing, and I have heard the voice of [thy] words: —
Na thuih ih lok to ka thaih, na thuih ih loknawk to ka thaih boeh,
9 I am clean without transgression; I am pure, and there is no iniquity in me;
kai loe ka ciim, zae sakhaih ka tawn ai; sakpazaehaih doeh ka tawn ai.
10 Lo, he findeth occasions of hostility against me, he counteth me for his enemy;
Khenah, Sithaw mah ka zaehaih pakrong; kai hae a misa ah ang suek,
11 He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.
12 Behold, I will answer thee in this, thou art not right; for God is greater than man.
Khenah, na thuih pazae boeh; lok kang pathim han vop, Sithaw loe kami pongah len kue.
13 Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.
Anih mah ka sak ih hmuen kawng pongah lok pathim ai, tiah na thuih moe, Sithaw to na laisaep thuih loe?
14 For God speaketh once, and twice, — [and man] perceiveth it not —
Sithaw mah lok vaito thuih pacoengah, kalah loklam bang hoiah lok a thuih pae let, toe kami mah panoek pae thai ai.
15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
Kami loe iih angam moe, iihhaih ahmuen ah a iih, qum amang ah hnuksakhaih mah,
16 Then he openeth men's ears, and sealeth their instruction,
a naa thungah lok to thuih pae moe, thuitaekhaih lok to paek,
17 That he may withdraw man [from his] work, and hide pride from man.
kami mah sak atimhaih to pahnawt moe, amoekhaih tawn han ai ah a sak.
18 He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from passing away by the sword.
Anih hinghaih to tangqom thung hoiah Sithaw mah pahlong moe, sumsen hoi duek han ai ah pakaa pae.
19 He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and with constant strife in his bones;
Anih loe iihhaih ahmuen ah angsong hanah nathaih hoiah kami to thuitaek moe, ahuhnawk boih to natsak;
20 And his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty food;
To naah a hinghaih mah buh to panuet moe, palung mah buhcaak angnaa pae ai.
21 His flesh is consumed away from view, and his bones that were not seen stick out;
Anih loe zaek kaeng boeh moe, kamtueng vai ai ahuhnawk doeh, amtueng boih.
22 And his soul draweth near to the pit, and his life to the destroyers.
Ue, a hinghaih mah taprong to pangh tathuk, a hinghaih amrosakkungnawk khaeah phak tom boeh.
23 If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his duty;
Toe kaminawk khaeah toenghaih loklam to patuek hanah, van kami sangto thungah, maeto mah Sithaw hoi kami salakah laicaeh ah om nahaeloe,
24 Then he will be gracious unto him, and say, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.
Sithaw mah anih to tahmen ah loe, Tangqom thung caeh han ai ah anih to pahlong ah; anih akranghaih to ka hnuk boeh, tiah thui tih.
25 His flesh shall be fresher than in childhood; he shall return to the days of his youth.
To naah anih ih ngan loe nawkta ngan baktiah angcoeng let ueloe, thendoeng nathuem ih baktih toengah om let tih.
26 He shall pray unto God, and he will receive him with favour; and he shall see his face with shoutings, and he will render unto man his righteousness.
Anih mah Sithaw khaeah lawkthui ueloe, mikhmai hoihaih to hnu tih; anghoehaih hoi Sithaw ih mikhmai to hnu tih; Sithaw mah a toenghaih to kami hanah paek.
27 He will sing before men, and say, I have sinned, and perverted what was right, and it hath not been requited to me;
Anih mah kaminawk hmaa ah, Mi kawbaktih mah doeh ka zae moeng boeh, toenghaih to toeng ai ah ka sak moeng boeh, to hmuen mah kai han avanghaih tidoeh na paek ai, tiah thui nahaeloe,
28 He hath delivered my soul from going into the pit, and my life shall see the light.
Anih mah tangqom thung hoiah a hinghaih to akrang ueloe, a hinghaih mah aanghaih to hnu tih.
29 Lo, all these [things] worketh God twice, thrice, with man,
Khenah, Sithaw mah hae hmuennawk hae kami khaeah sak toepsoep;
30 To bring back his soul from the pit, that he may be enlightened with the light of the living.
anih hinghaih to tangqom thung hoiah amlaemsak let moe, hinghaih paek aanghaih thungah a caeh haih.
31 Mark well, Job, hearken unto me; be silent, and I will speak.
Aw Job, naa to patuengah loe, ka lok hae acoehaih hoiah tahngai ah; anghngai duem ah; lok kang thuih han vop.
32 If thou hast anything to say, answer me; speak, for I desire to justify thee.
33 If not, hearken thou unto me; be silent, and I will teach thee wisdom.
Toe lokthuih han na tawn ai nahaeloe, ka lok hae tahngai ah; anghngai duem ah, palunghahaih kang patuk han, tiah a naa.
