Job 31
1 I made a covenant with mine eyes; and how should I fix my regard upon a maid?
౧నేను నా కన్నులతో ఒప్పందం చేసుకున్నాను గనక కన్యను కోరికతో ఎలా చూస్తాను?
2 For what would have been [my] portion of God from above, and what the heritage of the Almighty from on high?
౨అలా చేస్తే పైనున్న దేవుని ఆజ్ఞ ఏమౌతుంది? ఉన్నత స్థలంలో ఉన్న సర్వశక్తుని వారసత్వం ఏమౌతుంది?
3 Is not calamity for the unrighteous? and misfortune for the workers of iniquity?
౩ఆపద అనేది దుర్మార్గులకేననీ, విపత్తు దుష్టత్వం జరిగించే వారికేననీ నేను భావించే వాణ్ణి.
4 Doth not he see my ways, and number all my steps?
౪ఆయనకు నా ప్రవర్తన తెలుసు గదా. ఆయన నా అడుగు జాడలన్నిటినీ లెక్కబెడతాడు గదా.
5 If I have walked with falsehood, and my foot hath hasted to deceit,
౫అబద్ధికుడినై నేను తిరుగులాడి ఉన్నట్టయితే, మోసం చేయడానికి నా కాలు వేగిరపడినట్టయితే,
6 (Let me be weighed in an even balance, and God will take knowledge of my blamelessness; )
౬నా యథార్థతను తెలుసుకునేందుకు న్యాయమైన త్రాసులో ఆయన నన్ను తూచు గాక.
7 If my step have turned out of the way, and my heart followed mine eyes, and if any blot cleaveth to my hands;
౭నేను న్యాయ మార్గం విడిచి నడచినట్టయితే, నా మనస్సు నా కళ్ళను అనుసరించి నడిచినట్టయితే మాలిన్యం ఏదైనా నా చేతులకు తగిలినట్టయితే,
8 Let me sow, and another eat; and let mine offspring be rooted out.
౮నేను విత్తనం చల్లి పండించిన దాన్ని వేరొకడు భుజించనియ్యండి. నా పంటను పెరికి వేయనియ్యండి.
9 If my heart have been enticed unto a woman, so that I laid wait at my neighbour's door,
౯నేను హృదయంలో పరస్త్రీని మోహించినట్టయితే, నా పొరుగువాడి వాకిట్లో అతని భార్య కోసం నేను పొంచి ఉన్నట్టయితే,
10 Let my wife grind for another, and let others bow down upon her.
౧౦నా భార్య వేరొకడి తిరుగలి విసరు గాక. ఇతరులు ఆమెను అనుభవిస్తారు గాక.
11 For this is an infamy; yea, it is an iniquity [to be judged by] the judges:
౧౧అది భయంకరమైన నేరం. అది న్యాయాధిపతుల చేత శిక్షనొందదగిన నేరం.
12 For it is a fire that consumeth to destruction, and would root out all mine increase.
౧౨అది నాశనకూపం వరకూ దహించే అగ్నిహోత్రం. అది నా పంట కోత అంతటినీ నిర్మూలం చేస్తుంది.
13 If I have despised the cause of my bondman or of my bondmaid, when they contended with me,
౧౩నా సేవకుడైనా దాసి అయినా నాతో వ్యాజ్యెమాడి న్యాయం కోసం చేసిన విన్నపం నేను నిర్లక్ష్యం చేస్తే,
14 What then should I do when God riseth up? and if he visited, what should I answer him?
౧౪దేవుడు లేచి నాపై తప్పు మోపినప్పుడు నేనేమి చేస్తాను? ఆయన విచారణకై వచ్చినప్పుడు నేను ఆయనకు ఏమి ప్రత్యుత్తరం ఇస్తాను?
15 Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not One fashion us in the womb?
౧౫గర్భంలో నన్ను పుట్టించినవాడు వారిని కూడా పుట్టించ లేదా? గర్భంలో నన్నూ వారినీ కూడా రూపొందించినవాడు ఒక్కడే గదా.
16 If I have withheld the poor from [their] desire, or caused the eyes of the widow to fail;
౧౬పేదలు కోరిన దాన్ని నేను బిగబట్టినట్టయితే, ఏడుపు మూలంగా వితంతువుల కళ్ళు క్షీణింపజేసినట్టయితే,
17 Or have eaten my morsel alone, so that the fatherless ate not thereof,
౧౭తల్లిదండ్రులు లేని వారిని నా అన్నంలో కొంచెమైనా తిననియ్యక నేనొక్కడినే భోజనం చేస్తే,
18 (For from my youth he grew up with me as with a father, and I have guided the [widow] from my mother's womb; )
౧౮(నేను అలా చేయలేదు, నా యవ్వనప్రాయం మొదలు తండ్రి లేనివాడు నన్నొక తండ్రిగా భావించి నా దగ్గర పెరిగాడు. నా తల్లి కడుపున పుట్టింది మొదలు నేను అతని తల్లికి, ఆ వితంతువుకు దారి చూపించాను).
19 If I have seen any perishing for want of clothing, or any needy without covering;
౧౯ఎవరైనా బట్టల్లేక చావడం నేను చూస్తే, పేదలకు వస్త్రం లేకపోవడం నేను చూస్తే,
20 If his loins have not blessed me, and if he were not warmed with the fleece of my lambs;
౨౦వారి హృదయాలు నన్ను దీవించక పోతే, వారు నా గొర్రెల బొచ్చు చేత వెచ్చదనం పొందక పోయినట్టయితే,
21 If I have lifted up my hand against an orphan, because I saw my help in the gate:
౨౧ఊరి రచ్చబండ దగ్గర అంతా నన్ను సమర్థిస్తారులే అని తండ్రిలేని వారి పై నేను చెయ్యి ఎత్తితే,
22 [Then] let my shoulder fall from the shoulder-blade, and mine arm be broken from the bone!
౨౨నా భుజం ఎముక దాని గూటి నుండి జారిపోతుంది గాక. నా చేతి ఎముక దాని కీలు దగ్గర విరిగిపోతుంది గాక.
23 For calamity from God was a terror to me, and by reason of his excellency I was powerless.
౨౩దేవుడి నుండి ఆపద వస్తుందని నాకొక భయం ఉంది. ఆయన మహాత్మ్యం కారణంగా ఇలాంటివేమీ నేను చెయ్యలేదు.
24 If I have made gold my hope, or said to the fine gold, My confidence!
౨౪బంగారం నాకు ఆధారమనుకున్నట్టయితే, నా ఆశ్రయం నీవే అని మేలిమి బంగారంతో నేను చెప్పినట్టయితే,
25 If I rejoiced because my wealth was great, and because my hand had gotten much;
౨౫నాకు చాలా ఆస్తి ఉందని గానీ నా చేతికి విస్తారమైన సంపద దొరికిందని గానీ నేను సంతోషించినట్టయితే,
26 If I beheld the sun when it shone, or the moon walking in brightness,
౨౬సూర్యుడు ప్రకాశించినప్పుడు నేను దాన్ని గానీ, చంద్రుడు మెరిసిపోతూ ఉన్నప్పుడు దాన్ని గానీ చూసి,
27 And my heart have been secretly enticed, so that my mouth kissed my hand:
౨౭నా హృదయం నాలో మురిసిపోయి వాటివైపు చూసి పూజ్య భావంతో నా నోరు ముద్దు పెట్టినట్టయితే,
28 This also would be an iniquity for the judge, for I should have denied the God who is above.
౨౮అది కూడా న్యాయాధిపతుల చేత శిక్ష పొందదగిన నేరమౌతుంది. ఎందుకంటే నేను పైనున్న దేవుణ్ణి కాదన్న వాడినౌతాను.
29 If I rejoiced at the destruction of him that hated me, and exulted when evil befell him;
౨౯నన్ను ద్వేషించిన వాడికి కలిగిన నాశనాన్ని బట్టి నేను సంతోషించినట్టయితే, అతనికి కీడు కలగడం చూసి నన్ను నేను అభినందించుకున్నట్టయితే,
30 (Neither have I suffered my mouth to sin by asking his life with a curse; )
౩౦(పాపం చేయడానికి నేను నా నోటికి చోటియ్యలేదు. అతని ప్రాణం తీసే శాపం ఏదీ పలకలేదు).
31 If the men of my tent said not, Who shall find one that hath not been satisfied with his meat? —
౩౧“యోబు పెట్టిన భోజనం తిని, తృప్తి పొందని వాణ్ణి ఎవరు చూపించగలరు?” అని నా ఇంట్లో నివసించేవారు అనకపోతే,
32 The stranger did not lodge without; I opened my doors to the pathway.
౩౨(పరదేశి ఎప్పుడూ ఆరుబయట ఉండే పరిస్థితి రాలేదు. బాటసారుల కోసం నా ఇంటి తలుపులు ఎప్పుడూ తెరిచే ఉన్నాయి).
33 If I covered my transgressions as Adam, by hiding mine iniquity in my bosom,
౩౩మానవ జాతి చేసినట్టు నా పాపాలను దాచి పెట్టుకోలేదు. నా అంగీలో దోషాన్ని కప్పి ఉంచుకోలేదు.
34 Because I feared the great multitude, and the contempt of families terrified me, so that I kept silence, and went not out of the door, ...
౩౪జన సమూహానికి భయపడి, కుటుంబాల తిరస్కారానికి జడిసి నేను మౌనంగా ఉండి ద్వారం దాటి బయటికి వెళ్లకుండా దాక్కోలేదు.
35 Oh that I had one to hear me! Behold my signature: let the Almighty answer me! And let mine opponent write an accusation!
౩౫నా మాట వినడానికి నాకొకడు ఉంటే ఎంత బాగుంటుంది! ఇదిగో నా సంతకం. సర్వశక్తుడు నాకు జవాబిస్తాడు గాక. ఇదిగో నా ప్రతివాది రాసిన అభియోగం ఎవరైనా నాకు చూపిస్తే ఎంత బాగుంటుంది!
36 Would I not take it upon my shoulder? I would bind it on to me [as] a crown;
౩౬నిశ్చయంగా నేను నా భుజం మీద దాన్ని ధరిస్తాను. దాన్ని కిరీటంగా పెట్టుకుంటాను.
37 I would declare unto him the number of my steps; as a prince would I come near to him.
౩౭నేను వేసిన అడుగుల లెక్క ఆయనకు తెలియజేస్తాను. రాజు లాగా నిబ్బరంగా నేనాయన దగ్గరికి వెళ్తాను.
38 If my land cry out against me, and its furrows weep together;
౩౮నా భూమి నా గురించి మొర పెడితే, దాని చాళ్లు ఏకమై ఏడిస్తే,
39 If I have eaten the fruits thereof without money, and have tormented to death the souls of its owners:
౩౯వెల చెల్లించకుండా నేను దాని పంటను అనుభవించినట్టయితే, దాని యజమానులకు ప్రాణహాని కలగజేసినట్టయితే,
40 Let thistles grow instead of wheat, and tares instead of barley. The words of Job are ended.
౪౦గోదుమల బదులు ముళ్లు, బార్లీకి బదులు కలుపు మొలచు గాక. యోబు మాటలు ఇంతటితో సమాప్తం.
