< Job 29 >

1 And Job continued his parable and said,
Pẹ̀lúpẹ̀lú, Jobu sì tún tẹ̀síwájú nínú ọ̀rọ̀ rẹ̀, ó sì wí pé,
2 Oh that I were as in months past, as in the days when God preserved me;
“Háà! ìbá ṣe pé èmi wà bí ìgbà oṣù tí ó kọjá, bí ọjọ́ tí Ọlọ́run pa mí mọ́,
3 When his lamp shone over my head, [and] by his light I walked through darkness;
nígbà tí fìtílà rẹ tàn sí mi ní orí, àti nípa ìmọ́lẹ̀ rẹ̀ èmi rìn nínú òkùnkùn já.
4 As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret counsel of God was over my tent,
Bí mo ti rí nígbà ọ̀dọ́ mi, nígbà tí ọ̀rẹ́ Ọlọ́run tímọ́tímọ́ bùkún ilé mi,
5 When the Almighty was yet with me, my young men round about me;
nígbà tí Olódùmarè wà pẹ̀lú mi, nígbà tí àwọn ọmọ mi wà yí mi ká;
6 When my steps were bathed in milk, and the rock poured out beside me rivers of oil! ...
nígbà tí èmi fi òrí-àmọ́ n wẹ ìṣísẹ̀ mi, àti tí àpáta ń tú ìṣàn òróró jáde fún mi wá.
7 When I went out to the gate by the city, when I prepared my seat on the broadway,
“Nígbà tí mo jáde la àárín ìlú lọ sí ẹnu ibodè, nígbà tí mo tẹ́ ìtẹ́ mi ní ìgboro,
8 The young men saw me, and hid themselves; and the aged arose [and] stood up;
nígbà náà ni àwọn ọmọkùnrin rí mi, wọ́n sì sá pamọ́, àwọn àgbà dìde dúró ní ẹsẹ̀ wọn,
9 Princes refrained from talking, and laid the hand on their mouth;
àwọn ọmọ-aládé dákẹ́ ọ̀rọ̀ sísọ, wọn a sì fi ọwọ́ wọn lé ẹnu.
10 The voice of the nobles was hushed, and their tongue cleaved to their palate.
Àwọn ọlọ́lá dákẹ́, ahọ́n wọn sì lẹ̀ mọ́ èrìgì ẹnu wọn.
11 When the ear heard [me], then it blessed me, and when the eye saw [me], it gave witness to me;
Nígbà tí etí gbọ́, ó sì súre fún mi, àti nígbà tí ojú sì rí mi, ó jẹ́rìí mi,
12 For I delivered the afflicted that cried, and the fatherless who had no helper.
nítorí mo gbà tálákà tí n fẹ́ ìrànlọ́wọ́, àti aláìní baba tí kò sí olùrànlọ́wọ́ fún un.
13 The blessing of him that was perishing came upon me, and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy.
Ẹni tí ó ń kìlọ̀ súre fún mi, èmi sì mú àyà opó kọrin fún ayọ̀.
14 I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; my justice was as a mantle and a turban.
Èmi sì mú òdodo wọ̀ bí aṣọ, ẹ̀tọ́ mi dàbí aṣọ ìgúnwà àti adé ọba.
15 I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame;
Mo ṣe ojú fún afọ́jú mo sì ṣe ẹsẹ̀ fún amúnkùn ún.
16 I was a father to the needy, and the cause which I knew not I searched out;
Mo ṣe baba fún tálákà; mo ṣe ìwádìí ọ̀ràn àjèjì tí èmi kò mọ̀ rí.
17 And I broke the jaws of the unrighteous, and plucked the spoil out of his teeth.
Mo sì ká eyín ẹ̀rẹ̀kẹ́ ènìyàn búburú, mo sì já ohun ọdẹ náà kúrò ní eyín rẹ̀.
18 And I said, I shall die in my nest, and multiply my days as the sand;
“Nígbà náà ni mo rò pé, ‘Èmi yóò kú nínú ilé mi, èmi yóò sì mú ọjọ́ mi pọ̀ sí i bí iyanrìn.
19 My root shall be spread out to the waters, and the dew will lie all night on my branch;
Gbòǹgbò mi yóò ta kan omi, ìrì yóò sì sẹ̀ ní gbogbo òru sí ara ẹ̀ka mi.
20 My glory shall be fresh in me, and my bow be renewed in my hand.
Ògo mi yóò wà ní ọ̀tún ní ọ̀dọ̀ mi, ọrun mi sì padà di tuntun ní ọwọ́ mi.’
21 Unto me they listened, and waited, and kept silence for my counsel:
“Èmi ni ènìyàn ń dẹtí sílẹ̀ sí, wọn a sì dúró, wọn a sì dákẹ́ rọ́rọ́ ní ìmọ̀ràn mi.
22 After my words they spoke not again, and my speech dropped upon them;
Lẹ́yìn ọ̀rọ̀ mi, wọn kò tún sọ̀rọ̀ mọ́; ọ̀rọ̀ mi wọ̀ wọ́n ní etí ṣinṣin.
23 And they waited for me as for the rain, and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain.
Wọn a sì dúró dè mí bí ẹni wí pé wọ́n dúró fún ọ̀wọ́ òjò; wọn a sì mu nínú ọ̀rọ̀ mi bí ẹní mu nínú òjò àrọ̀kúrò.
24 [If] I laughed on them, they believed [it] not; and they troubled not the serenity of my countenance.
Èmi sì rẹ́rìn-ín sí wọn nígbà tí wọn kò bá gbà á gbọ́; ìmọ́lẹ̀ ojú mi jẹ́ iyebíye sí wọn.
25 I chose their way, and sat as chief, and dwelt as a king in the army, as one that comforteth mourners.
Mo la ọ̀nà sílẹ̀ fún wọn, mo sì jókòó bí olóyè wọn. Mo jókòó bí ọba ní àárín ológun rẹ, mo sì rí bí ẹni tí ń tu ẹni tí ń ṣọ̀fọ̀ nínú.
