Job 27
1 And Job continued his parable and said,
Und Hiob setzte seine Rede fort und sprach:
2 [As] God liveth, who hath taken away my right, and the Almighty, who hath embittered my soul,
So wahr Gott lebt, der mir mein Recht entzogen, und der Allmächtige, der meine Seele betrübt hat:
3 All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils,
Solange noch mein Odem in mir ist und der Hauch Gottes in meiner Nase,
4 My lips shall not speak unrighteousness, nor my tongue utter deceit!
sollen meine Lippen nichts Verkehrtes reden und meine Zunge keine Lüge aussprechen.
5 Be it far from me that I should justify you; till I die I will not remove my blamelessness from me.
Ferne sei es von mir, daß ich euch Recht gebe, ich werde mir meine Unschuld nicht nehmen lassen bis an mein Ende!
6 My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart reproacheth [me] not one of my days.
Ich habe an meiner Gerechtigkeit festgehalten und werde sie nicht loslassen, mein Gewissen straft mich über keinen meiner Tage;
7 Let mine enemy be as the wicked, and he that riseth up against me as the unrighteous.
mein Feind aber müsse verurteilt werden und meine Widersacher Unrecht haben.
8 For what is the hope of the ungodly, when [God] cutteth him off, when God taketh away his soul?
Denn was für eine Hoffnung hat der Frevler, wenn Gott [ihn] abschneidet, wenn er ihm seine Seele entzieht?
9 Will God hear his cry when distress cometh upon him?
Wird Gott sein Geschrei erhören, wenn Not über ihn kommt?
10 Doth he delight himself in the Almighty? will he at all times call upon God?
Hätte er seine Lust an dem Allmächtigen, so würde er Gott allezeit anrufen.
11 I will teach you concerning the hand of God; what is with the Almighty will I not conceal.
Ich will euch über Gottes Hand belehren und, was es mit dem Allmächtigen für eine Bewandtnis hat, euch nicht verhehlen.
12 Behold, ye yourselves have all seen [it]; and why are ye thus altogether vain?
Siehe, ihr alle habt es ja gesehen (warum redet ihr so unnütze Worte)?
13 This is the portion of the wicked man with God, and the heritage of the violent, which they receive from the Almighty: —
Das ist das Teil, das der gottlose Mensch von Gott, und dies das Erbe, das die Tyrannen vom Allmächtigen erhalten:
14 If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword, and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread;
Wenn seine Kinder sich mehren, so ist's für das Schwert, und seine Nachkommenschaft hat nicht Brot genug.
15 Those that remain of him shall be buried by death, and his widows shall not weep.
Seine Entronnenen sinken durch die Pest ins Grab, und ihre Witwen beweinen sie nicht.
16 Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare clothing as the clay;
Wenn er schon Geld zusammenscharrt wie Staub und Kleider zusammenhäuft wie Kot,
17 He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on; and the innocent shall divide the silver.
so bringt er sie zwar zusammen, aber der Gerechte wird sie anziehen, und in das Geld werden sich die Unschuldigen teilen.
18 He buildeth his house as the moth, and as a booth that a keeper maketh.
Er baut sein Haus wie die Motte und wie ein Hüttlein, das der Hüter macht.
19 He lieth down rich, but will do so no more; he openeth his eyes, and he is not.
Reich legt er sich hin und tut es nicht wieder; in einem Augenblick ist er dahin:
20 Terrors overtake him like waters; a whirlwind stealeth him away in the night.
Schrecken ergreift ihn wie eine Wasserflut, der Sturmwind führt ihn über Nacht davon.
21 The east wind carrieth him away and he is gone; and as a storm it hurleth him out of his place.
Ein Ostwind ergreift ihn, und er fährt dahin, er rafft ihn von seiner Stätte hinweg.
22 And [God] shall cast upon him and not spare: he would fain flee out of his hand.
Schonungslos schleudert Er Geschosse nach ihm, eiligst muß er fliehen vor seiner Hand.
23 [Men] shall clap their hands at him, and shall hiss him out of his place.
Man klatscht mit den Händen über ihn und zischt ihn aus an seinem Ort.
