Job 22
1 And Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,
१तब तेमानी एलीपज ने कहा,
2 Can a man be profitable to God? surely it is unto himself that the wise man is profitable.
२“क्या मनुष्य से परमेश्वर को लाभ पहुँच सकता है? जो बुद्धिमान है, वह स्वयं के लिए लाभदायक है।
3 Is it any pleasure to the Almighty if thou art righteous? And is it gain [to him] that thou makest thy ways perfect?
३क्या तेरे धर्मी होने से सर्वशक्तिमान सुख पा सकता है? तेरी चाल की खराई से क्या उसे कुछ लाभ हो सकता है?
4 Will he reason with thee for fear of thee? Will he enter with thee into judgment?
४वह तो तुझे डाँटता है, और तुझ से मुकद्दमा लड़ता है, तो क्या यह तेरी भक्ति के कारण है?
5 Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities without end?
५क्या तेरी बुराई बहुत नहीं? तेरे अधर्म के कामों का कुछ अन्त नहीं।
6 For thou hast taken a pledge of thy brother for nought, and stripped off the clothing of the naked.
६तूने तो अपने भाई का बन्धक अकारण रख लिया है, और नंगे के वस्त्र उतार लिये हैं।
7 Thou hast not given water to the fainting to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.
७थके हुए को तूने पानी न पिलाया, और भूखे को रोटी देने से इन्कार किया।
8 But the powerful man, he had the land; and the man of high rank dwelt in it.
८जो बलवान था उसी को भूमि मिली, और जिस पुरुष की प्रतिष्ठा हुई थी, वही उसमें बस गया।
9 Widows hast thou sent empty away, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
९तूने विधवाओं को खाली हाथ लौटा दिया। और अनाथों की बाहें तोड़ डाली गई।
10 Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee;
१०इस कारण तेरे चारों ओर फंदे लगे हैं, और अचानक डर के मारे तू घबरा रहा है।
11 Or darkness, that thou canst not see, and floods of waters cover thee.
११क्या तू अंधियारे को नहीं देखता, और उस बाढ़ को जिसमें तू डूब रहा है?
12 Is not God in the height of the heavens? And behold the summit of the stars: how exalted are they!
१२“क्या परमेश्वर स्वर्ग के ऊँचे स्थान में नहीं है? ऊँचे से ऊँचे तारों को देख कि वे कितने ऊँचे हैं।
13 And thou sayest, What doth God know? will he judge through the dark cloud?
१३फिर तू कहता है, ‘परमेश्वर क्या जानता है? क्या वह घोर अंधकार की आड़ में होकर न्याय करेगा?
14 Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh on the vault of the heavens.
१४काली घटाओं से वह ऐसा छिपा रहता है कि वह कुछ नहीं देख सकता, वह तो आकाशमण्डल ही के ऊपर चलता फिरता है।’
15 Dost thou mark the ancient path which wicked men have trodden?
१५क्या तू उस पुराने रास्ते को पकड़े रहेगा, जिस पर वे अनर्थ करनेवाले चलते हैं?
16 Who were carried off before the time, whose foundation was overflowed with a flood;
१६वे अपने समय से पहले उठा लिए गए और उनके घर की नींव नदी बहा ले गई।
17 Who said unto God, Depart from us! and what could the Almighty do to them?
१७उन्होंने परमेश्वर से कहा था, ‘हम से दूर हो जा;’ और यह कि ‘सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर हमारा क्या कर सकता है?’
18 Yet he filled their houses with good. But the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
१८तो भी उसने उनके घर अच्छे-अच्छे पदार्थों से भर दिए परन्तु दुष्ट लोगों का विचार मुझसे दूर रहे।
19 The righteous see it, and are glad; and the innocent laugh them to scorn:
१९धर्मी लोग देखकर आनन्दित होते हैं; और निर्दोष लोग उनकी हँसी करते हैं, कि
20 Is not he who rose against us destroyed, and doth not the fire consume his residue?
२०‘जो हमारे विरुद्ध उठे थे, निःसन्देह मिट गए और उनका बड़ा धन आग का कौर हो गया है।’
21 Reconcile thyself now with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.
२१“परमेश्वर से मेल मिलाप कर तब तुझे शान्ति मिलेगी; और इससे तेरी भलाई होगी।
22 Receive, I pray thee, instruction from his mouth, and lay up his words in thy heart.
२२उसके मुँह से शिक्षा सुन ले, और उसके वचन अपने मन में रख।
23 If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up. If thou remove unrighteousness far from thy tents,
२३यदि तू सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वर की ओर फिरके समीप जाए, और अपने तम्बू से कुटिल काम दूर करे, तो तू बन जाएगा।
24 And put the precious ore with the dust, and [the gold of] Ophir among the stones of the torrents,
२४तू अपनी अनमोल वस्तुओं को धूलि पर, वरन् ओपीर का कुन्दन भी नालों के पत्थरों में डाल दे,
25 Then the Almighty will be thy precious ore, and silver heaped up unto thee;
२५तब सर्वशक्तिमान आप तेरी अनमोल वस्तु और तेरे लिये चमकीली चाँदी होगा।
26 Yea, then shalt thou delight thyself in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God:
२६तब तू सर्वशक्तिमान से सुख पाएगा, और परमेश्वर की ओर अपना मुँह बेखटके उठा सकेगा।
27 Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he will hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows;
२७और तू उससे प्रार्थना करेगा, और वह तेरी सुनेगा; और तू अपनी मन्नतों को पूरी करेगा।
28 And thou shalt decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee; and light shall shine upon thy ways.
२८जो बात तू ठाने वह तुझ से बन भी पड़ेगी, और तेरे मार्गों पर प्रकाश रहेगा।
29 When they are made low, then thou shalt say, Rise up! and he shall save him that is of downcast eyes.
२९मनुष्य जब गिरता है, तो तू कहता है की वह उठाया जाएगा; क्योंकि वह नम्र मनुष्य को बचाता है।
30 [Even] him that is not innocent shall he deliver; yea, he shall be delivered by the pureness of thy hands.
३०वरन् जो निर्दोष न हो उसको भी वह बचाता है; तेरे शुद्ध कामों के कारण तू छुड़ाया जाएगा।”
