Job 20
1 And Zophar the Naamathite answered and said,
Ndipo Sofari, Mnaamathi alijibu na kusema,
2 Therefore do my thoughts give me an answer, and for this is my haste within me.
“Mawazo yangu yananifanya mimi nijibu kwa haraka kwa sababu ya mashaka yaliyomo ndani yangu mimi.
3 I hear a reproof putting me to shame; and [my] spirit answereth me by mine understanding.
Mimi ninasikia kukemewa ambako kunaniondolea heshima mimi, lakini roho kutoka katika ufahamu wangu hunijibu mimi.
4 Knowest thou [not] this, that of old, since man was placed upon earth,
Je, unafahamu kwamba ukweli huu kutoka enzi za kale, wakati Mungu alipomweka mwanadamu juu ya nchi:
5 The exultation of the wicked is short, and the joy of the ungodly man but for a moment?
ushindi wa mtu mwovu ni mfupi, na furaha ya mtu asiyemcha Mungu hudumu kwa kitambo tu?
6 Though his height mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds,
Ingawa urefu wake yeye hufikia juu kwenye mbingu, na kichwa chake yeye kufikia kwenye mawingu,
7 Like his own dung doth he perish for ever; they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?
bado mtu huyo atapotea siku zote kama mavi yake yeye mwenyewe; wale waliokuwa wamemuona yeye watasema, 'Yuko wapi yeye'?
8 He flieth away as a dream, and is not found; and is chased away as a vision of the night.
Yeye atapaa mbali kama ndoto na hataonekana; ndivyo ilivyo, yeye atakuwa amefukuzwa mbali kama ono la
9 The eye which saw him shall [see him] not again; and his place beholdeth him no more.
usiku. Jicho ambalo lilimuona yeye halitamuona yeye tena; mahali pake hapatamuona yeye tena.
10 His children shall seek the favour of the poor, and his hands restore his wealth.
Watoto wake wataomba msamaha kwa watu maskini, mikono yake itaweza kurudisha utajiri wake.
11 His bones were full of his youthful strength; but it shall lie down with him in the dust.
Mifupa yake imejaa nguvu za ujanani, lakini zitalala naye chini katika mavumbi.
12 Though wickedness be sweet in his mouth [and] he hide it under his tongue,
Japokuwa uovu ni mtamu katika mdomo wake yeye, japokuwa yeye anauficha chini ya ulimi wake yeye,
13 [Though] he spare it, and forsake it not, but keep it within his mouth,
japokuwa anaushikilia pale na hauruhusu kwenda lakini bado huushikilia katika mdomo wake yeye -
14 His food is turned in his bowels; it is the gall of asps within him.
chakula katika koromeo lake yeye hugeuka kuwa uchungu; hugeuka kuwa sumu ya majoka ndani yake yeye.
15 He hath swallowed down riches, but he shall vomit them up again: God shall cast them out of his belly.
Yeye humeza chini utajiri, lakini yeye atautapika tena; Mungu atautoa nje kutoka katika tumbo lake yeye.
16 He shall suck the poison of asps; the viper's tongue shall kill him.
Yeye atamumunya sumu ya majoka; ulimi wa nyoka mwenye sumu utamwua yeye.
17 He shall not see streams, rivers, brooks of honey and butter.
Yeye hatafurahia vijito vya maji, wingi wa asali na siagi.
18 That which he laboured for shall he restore, and not swallow down; its restitution shall be according to the value, and he shall not rejoice [therein].
Yeye atayarudisha matunda ya kazi yake na hataweza kuyala; yeye hatafurahia utajiri alioupata kwa biashara zake yeye.
19 For he hath oppressed, hath forsaken the poor; he hath violently taken away a house that he did not build.
Kwa kuwa yeye amewakandamiza na kuwasahau watu maskini; yeye kwa uonevu, amezichukua mbali nyumba ambazo hakuzijenga yeye.
20 Because he knew no rest in his craving, he shall save nought of what he most desired.
Kwa sababu yeye mwenyewe hakujua utoshelevu wowote, yeye hataweza kuokoa kitu chochote katika kile ambacho alijifurahisha.
21 Nothing escaped his greediness; therefore his prosperity shall not endure.
Hakuna chochote kilichoachwa ambacho yeye hakukimeza; kwa hiyo mafanikio yake yeye hayatakuwa ya kudumu.
22 In the fulness of his sufficiency he shall be in straits; every hand of the wretched shall come upon him.
katika wingi wa utajiri wake yeye ataanguka katika mahangaiko; mkono wa kila mmoja ambaye yuko katika umaskini utakuja kinyume chake yeye.
23 It shall be that, to fill his belly, he will cast his fierce anger upon him, and will rain it upon him into his flesh.
Wakati akiwa katika kulijaza tumbo lake, Mungu atatupa hasira ya ghadhabu yake juu yake yeye; Mungu ataunyeshea chini juu yake yeye wakati yeye anakula.
24 If he have fled from the iron weapon, the bow of brass shall strike him through.
Ingawa mtu huyo atakimbia kutoka katika silaha ya chuma, upinde wa shaba utampiga yeye.
25 He draweth it forth; it cometh out of his body, and the glittering point out of his gall: terrors are upon him.
Mshale utatoboa kupitia mgongoni mwake na utatokezea; ni dhahiri, ncha inayong'ra itatokezea nje kupitia ini lake yeye; watesi huja tena juu yake.
26 All darkness is laid up for his treasures: a fire not blown shall devour him; it shall feed upon what is left in his tent.
Giza lliilo kamilika limetunzwa kwa akiba zake; moto usiopulizwa utamla yeye kwa haraka; utameza kile kilichoachwa katika hema yake.
27 The heavens shall reveal his iniquity, and the earth shall rise up against him.
Mbingu zitauweka wazi uovu wake, na nchi itainuka juu dhidi yake yeye kama shahidi.
28 The increase of his house shall depart, flowing away in the day of his anger.
Utajiri wa nyumba yake utatoweka; bidhaa zake zitamwagika mbali siku ya ghadhabu ya Mungu.
29 This is the portion of the wicked man from God, and the heritage appointed to him by God.
Hii ndiyo sehemu ya mtu mwovu kutoka kwa Mungu, urithi uliotunzwa akiba na Mungu kwa ajili yake yeye.”
