< Job 18 >

1 And Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,
Na Suhini Bildad buae se,
2 How long will ye hunt for words? Be intelligent, and then we will speak.
“Bere bɛn na wubegyae kasa tenten yi? Dwene ho yiye, na afei yebetumi akasa.
3 Wherefore are we counted as beasts, and reputed stupid in your sight?
Adɛn nti na wofa yɛn sɛ anantwi na wususuw sɛ yennim nyansa yi?
4 Thou that tearest thyself in thine anger, shall the earth be forsaken for thee? and shall the rock be removed out of its place?
Wo a wode abufuw tetew wo mu nketenkete, wo nti na yemfi asase so anaasɛ wonnwiriw abotan mfi wɔn sibea ana?
5 Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the flame of his fire shall not shine.
“Omumɔyɛfo kanea adum; na ne gya nnɛw bio.
6 The light shall become dark in his tent, and his lamp over him shall be put out.
Hann a ɛwɔ ne ntamadan mu duru sum; kanea a esi ne ho no dum.
7 The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down.
Nʼanammɔntu mu ahoɔden ano bɛbrɛ ase; nʼankasa nhyehyɛe hwe no ase.
8 For he is sent into the net by his own feet, and he walketh on the meshes;
Nʼanammɔn de no kɔ afiri mu, na okyinkyin kɔtɔ ne tan mu.
9 The gin taketh [him] by the heel, the snare layeth hold on him;
Afiri so ne nantin na eso ne mu dennen.
10 A cord is hidden for him in the ground, and his trap in the way.
Wɔasum no afiri ahintaw wɔ fam; afiri wɔ ne kwan mu.
11 Terrors make him afraid on every side, and chase him at his footsteps.
Ahunahuna ma ɔbɔ huboa wɔ ne ho nyinaa na ɛhaw no wɔ nʼanammɔntu biara mu.
12 His strength is hunger-bitten, and calamity is ready at his side.
Atoyerɛnkyɛm kɔn dɔ no; na sɛ ɔhwe ase a, amanehunu retwɛn no.
13 The firstborn of death devoureth the members of his body; it will devour his members.
Ɛwewe ne honam ani baabi; na owu di kan sɛe nʼakwaa.
14 His confidence shall be rooted out of his tent, and it shall lead him away to the king of terrors:
Wɔtwe no fi ne ntamadan bammɔ mu na wɔde no brɛ ahunahunahene.
15 They who are none of his shall dwell in his tent; brimstone shall be showered upon his habitation:
Ogya te ne ntamadan mu; na wɔabɔ sufre a ɛredɛw apete nʼatenae.
16 His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off;
Ne ntin wuwu wɔ ase na ne mman nso wu wɔ soro.
17 His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name on the pasture-grounds.
Wɔnnkae no asase so bio; na onni din wɔ asase so.
18 He is driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.
Wɔka no fi hann mu kɔ sum mu na wɔpam no fi wiase.
19 He hath neither son nor grandson among his people, nor any remaining in the places of his sojourn.
Onni mma anaa nananom wɔ ne nkurɔfo mu, na nʼaseni biara renka wɔ baabi a ɔtenae.
20 They that come after shall be astonished at his day, as they that went before [them] were affrighted.
Nnipa a wofi atɔe fam ho adwiriw wɔn wɔ nea ato no no ho; na aninyanne bunkam wɔn a wɔwɔ apuei fam no so.
21 Surely, such are the dwellings of the unrighteous man, and such the place of him that knoweth not God.
Ampa ara, sɛɛ na omumɔyɛfo atenae te; sɛɛ ne beae a nea onnim Onyankopɔn no te.”
