< Job 18 >
1 And Bildad the Shuhite answered and said,
Bildad, moun peyi Chwa a, pran lapawòl, li di konsa:
2 How long will ye hunt for words? Be intelligent, and then we will speak.
-Jòb monchè, ou pa ka pe bouch ou yon ti kadè? Si ou te fè yon ti sispann, nou ta pale avè ou!
3 Wherefore are we counted as beasts, and reputed stupid in your sight?
Poukisa ou pran nou pou moun san konprann? Poukisa ou pran nou pou zannimo?
4 Thou that tearest thyself in thine anger, shall the earth be forsaken for thee? and shall the rock be removed out of its place?
Si ou ankòlè, se pwòp tèt ou ase w'ap fè mal. Atò, poutèt ou, se pou tout moun sou latè te mouri? Se pou Bondye te deplase mòn yo pou fè ou plezi?
5 Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the flame of his fire shall not shine.
Wi, y'ap touye limyè mechan an, flanm dife l' la p'ap klere ankò.
6 The light shall become dark in his tent, and his lamp over him shall be put out.
Lanp lakay li ap mouri, limyè lakay li ap tenyen.
7 The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down.
Li te konn mache byen enganm, koulye a se ti pa ti pa, l'ap bite. Se plan li t'ap fè yo ki lakòz sa rive l'.
8 For he is sent into the net by his own feet, and he walketh on the meshes;
Li pile yon pèlen, pye l' pran ladan l'.
9 The gin taketh [him] by the heel, the snare layeth hold on him;
Kòd la mare nan je pye l', l'ap sere l' byen sere.
10 A cord is hidden for him in the ground, and his trap in the way.
Yo kache yon chita tann pou li anba tè. Yo moute yon pèlen sou wout li.
11 Terrors make him afraid on every side, and chase him at his footsteps.
Kote l' vire, malè ap tann li. Kote l' pase, yo la dèyè l'.
12 His strength is hunger-bitten, and calamity is ready at his side.
Grangou nan kò l' fini ak kouraj li. Malè kanpe la bò kote l' ap tann li.
13 The firstborn of death devoureth the members of his body; it will devour his members.
Yon sèl maladi po pete sou tout kò l'. L'ap manje tout janm li ak tout bra li yo. Se tè ki pou geri l'.
14 His confidence shall be rooted out of his tent, and it shall lead him away to the king of terrors:
Yo rale l' mete deyò anba tant kote li te al kache a. Yo trennen l' devan jeneral Lanmò.
15 They who are none of his shall dwell in his tent; brimstone shall be showered upon his habitation:
Koulye a, nenpòt moun gen dwa pran kay li a pou yo. Y'ap dezenfèkte l' nèt ak souf.
16 His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off;
Anba tè, rasin li yo ap mouri. Anwo tè, branch li yo ap fennen.
17 His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name on the pasture-grounds.
p'ap gen pesonn k'ap chonje l' ankò sou latè. Y'ap bliye l' nèt nan tout peyi a.
18 He is driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.
Y'ap pouse l' soti nan limyè ale nan fènwa. Y'ap depòte l' byen lwen nan peyi san chapo.
19 He hath neither son nor grandson among his people, nor any remaining in the places of his sojourn.
Li p'ap kite ni pitit, ni ankenn lòt fanmi nan mitan pèp la. Yo tout ap mouri anvan l'.
20 They that come after shall be astonished at his day, as they that went before [them] were affrighted.
Depi solèy leve jouk solèy kouche, tout moun pral sezi wè jan li fini.
21 Surely, such are the dwellings of the unrighteous man, and such the place of him that knoweth not God.
Wi, men sa k'ap tann lakou moun k'ap fè mechanste yo, fanmi moun ki pa respekte Bondye yo.
