< Job 13 >
1 Lo, mine eye hath seen all [this], mine ear hath heard and understood it.
“Nye ŋkuwo kpɔ nu siawo katã, nye towo se wo eye wose wo gɔme.
2 What ye know, I know also: I am not inferior to you.
Nu si nènya la, nye hã menyae, mède ŋgɔ wum o.
3 But I will speak to the Almighty, and will find pleasure in reasoning with God;
Gake medi vevie be maƒo nu kple Ŋusẽkatãtɔ la eye mahe nya kple Mawu.
4 For ye indeed are forgers of lies, ye are all physicians of no value.
Ke miawo la, miele ŋunye gblẽm kple aʋatsonyawo, mi katã mienye gbedala siwo ŋu viɖe aɖeke mele o!
5 Oh that ye would be altogether silent! and it would be your wisdom.
Ne mi katã miahaɖo to ɖe! Le mia gbɔ la, esia anye nunya.
6 Hear now my defence, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips.
Mise ɖokuinyenuɖeɖe azɔ, mise nye nuyiwo ƒe kokoƒoƒo.
7 Will ye speak unrighteously for God? and for him speak deceit?
Ɖe miaƒo nu baɖa ɖe Mawu nua? Ɖe miaƒo nu bebletɔe ɖe enua?
8 Will ye accept his person? will ye contend for God?
Ɖe miebe yewoade edzia? Ɖe miebe yewoaxɔ nya ɖe Mawu nua?
9 Will it be well if he should search you out? or as one mocketh at a man, will ye mock at him?
Anyo na mi ne edo mi kpɔa? Miate ŋu ablee abe ale si miable amewo enea?
10 He will certainly reprove you, if ye do secretly accept persons.
Le nyateƒe me, aka mo na mi, ne miede edzi le adzame.
11 Shall not his excellency terrify you? and his dread fall upon you?
Ɖe eƒe ŋutikɔkɔe mado ŋɔdzi na mi oa? Ɖe eƒe ŋɔdzi malé mi oa?
12 Your memorable sayings are proverbs of ashes, your bulwarks are bulwarks of mire.
Miaƒe nya tsitsiwo nye lododo gbɔlowo eye dedinɔnɔ ƒe gli siwo mieɖo la nye anyigliwo ko.
13 Hold your peace from me, and I will speak, and let come on me what [will]!
“Mizi ɖoɖoe ne miana mɔm maƒo nu, ekema nu si be yeadzɔ ɖe dzinye la nedzɔ.
14 Wherefore should I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in my hand?
Nu ka ŋuti metsɔ ɖokuinye de xaxa me eye metsɔ nye agbe ɖo nye asiƒome?
15 Behold, if he slay me, yet would I trust in him; but I will defend mine own ways before him.
Togbɔ be ele wu ye ge hã la, matsɔ nye mɔkpɔkpɔ ada ɖe eya amea dzi ko. Le nyateƒe me maʋu go nye mɔwo ɖe ŋkume nɛ.
16 This also shall be my salvation, that a profane man shall not come before his face.
Vavã esia ava zu ɖeɖe nam elabena mawumavɔ̃la aɖeke mate kpɔ be yeado ɖe eŋkume o!
17 Hear attentively my speech and my declaration with your ears.
Miɖo to miase nye nyawo nyuie, miƒu to anyi miase nu si gblɔ ge mele.
18 Behold now, I have ordered the cause; I know that I shall be justified.
Azɔ meɖo nye nyawo ɖe ɖoɖo nu vɔ, menya be tɔnye adzɔ godoo.
19 Who is he that contendeth with me? For if I were silent now, I should expire.
Ɖe ame aɖe ate ŋu atsɔ nya ɖe ŋunyea? Ne ame aɖe ate ŋui la, ekema mazi ɖoɖoe aku.
20 Only do not two things unto me; then will I not hide myself from thee.
“O Mawu, nu eve siawo ko medi be nàwɔ nam, eye nyemaɣla ɖokuinye ɖe wò o.
21 Withdraw thy hand far from me; and let not thy terror make me afraid:
Te wò asi ɖa xaa tso gbɔnye eye nàdzudzɔ vɔvɔ̃dodo nam kple wò ŋɔdzinuwo.
22 Then call, and I will answer; or I will speak, and answer thou me.
Ekema yɔm eye matɔ alo maƒo nu eye nàɖo eŋu.
23 How many are mine iniquities and sins? Make me to know my transgression and my sin.
Nu vɔ̃ kple nu gbegblẽ nenie mewɔ? Ɖe nye vodada kple nu vɔ̃ fiam.
24 Wherefore dost thou hide thy face, and countest me for thine enemy?
Nu ka tae nèɣla wò mo eye nèbum wò futɔe?
25 Wilt thou terrify a driven leaf? and wilt thou pursue dry stubble?
Ɖe nàwɔ funyafunya aŋgba si ya lɔ ɖe nua? Ɖe nàti atsa yomea?
26 For thou writest bitter things against me, and makest me to possess the iniquities of my youth;
Elabena èŋlɔ nu vɔ̃ɖiwo ɖi ɖe ŋunye eye nèna nye ɖekakpuimenu vɔ̃wo va dzinye.
27 And thou puttest my feet in the stocks, and markest all my paths; thou settest a bound about the soles of my feet; —
Ède gakɔsɔkɔsɔ nye afɔwo, wò ŋkuwo le nye toƒewo katã ŋu eye nède dzesi nye afɔƒome.
28 One who, as a rotten thing consumeth, as a garment that the moth eateth.
“Ale mevɔ le eme abe nu si ƒaƒã alo avɔ si gbagblaʋui ɖu la ene.”
