Job 11
1 And Zophar the Naamathite answered and said,
Então respondeu Sofar, o naamathita, e disse
2 Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man of much talk be justified?
Porventura não se dará resposta á multidão de palavras? E o homen fallador será justificado?
3 Should thy fictions make men hold their peace? and shouldest thou mock, and no one make [thee] ashamed?
A's tuas mentiras se hão de calar os homens? E zombarás tu sem que ninguem te envergonhe?
4 For thou sayest, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes.
Pois tu disseste: A minha doutrina é pura, e limpo sou aos teus olhos.
5 But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee;
Mas, na verdade, oxalá que Deus fallasse e abrisse os seus labios contra ti!
6 And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, how that they are the double of what is realised; and know that God passeth by [much] of thine iniquity!
E te fizesse saber os segredos da sabedoria, que ella é multiplice em efficacia; pelo que sabe que Deus exige de ti menos do que merece a tua iniquidade.
7 Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty to perfection?
Porventura alcançarás os caminhos de Deus? ou chegarás á perfeição do Todo-poderoso?
8 [It is as] the heights of heaven; what wilt thou do? deeper than Sheol; what canst thou know? (Sheol h7585)
Como as alturas dos céus é a sua sabedoria; que poderás tu fazer? mais profunda do que o inferno, que poderás tu saber? (Sheol h7585)
9 The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.
Mais comprida é a sua medida do que a terra: e mais larga do que o mar.
10 If he pass by, and shut up, and call to judgment, who can hinder him?
Se elle destruir, e encerrar, ou se recolher, quem o fará tornar para traz?
11 For he knoweth vain men, and seeth wickedness when [man] doth not consider it;
Porque elle conhece aos homens vãos, e vê o vicio; e não o terá em consideração?
12 Yet a senseless man will make bold, though man be born [like] the foal of a wild ass.
Mas o homem vão é falto de entendimento; sim, o homem nasce como a cria do jumento montez.
13 If thou prepare thy heart and stretch out thy hands toward him,
Se tu preparaste o teu coração, e estendeste as tuas mãos para elle!
14 If thou put far away the iniquity which is in thy hand, and let not wrong dwell in thy tents;
Se ha iniquidade na tua mão, lança-a para longe de ti e não deixes habitar a injustiça nas tuas tendas.
15 Surely then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot, and thou shalt be stedfast and shalt not fear:
Porque então o teu rosto levantarás sem macula: e estarás firme, e não temerás.
16 For thou shalt forget misery; as waters that are passed away shalt thou remember it;
Porque te esquecerás dos trabalhos, e te lembrarás d'elles como das aguas que já passaram
17 And life shall arise brighter than noonday; though thou be enshrouded in darkness, thou shalt be as the morning,
E a tua vida mais clara se levantará do que o meio dia; ainda que seja trevas, será como a manhã.
18 And thou shalt have confidence, because there shall be hope; and having searched about [thee], thou shalt take rest in safety.
E terás confiança; porque haverá esperança; e buscarás e repousarás seguro.
19 Yea, thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; and many shall seek thy favour.
E deitar-te-has, e ninguem te espantará; muitos supplicarão o teu rosto.
20 But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and [all] refuge shall vanish from them, and their hope [shall be] the breathing out of life.
Porém os olhos dos impios desfallecerão, e perecerá o seu refugio: e a sua esperança será o expirar da alma
