Jeremiah 29

1 And these are the words of the letter that the prophet Jeremiah sent from Jerusalem to the residue of the elders of the captivity, and to the priests, and to the prophets, and to all the people whom Nebuchadnezzar had carried away captive from Jerusalem to Babylon

௧எகொனியா என்னும் ராஜாவும், ராஜாவின் தாயாரும், பிரதானிகளும், யூதாவிலும் எருசலேமிலுமுள்ள பிரபுக்களும், தச்சரும், கொல்லரும் எருசலேமைவிட்டுப் புறப்பட்டுப்போனபிறகு,

2 (after that Jeconiah the king, and the queen, and the eunuchs, the princes of Judah and Jerusalem, and the craftsmen, and the smiths, had departed from Jerusalem);

௨எரேமியா தீர்க்கதரிசி சிறைப்பட்டுப்போன மூப்பர்களில் மீதியானவர்களுக்கும், ஆசாரியர்களுக்கும், தீர்க்கதரிசிகளுக்கும், நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் சிறைப்படுத்தி எருசலேமிலிருந்து பாபிலோனுக்குக் கொண்டுபோன எல்லா மக்களுக்கும் எழுதி,

3 by the hand of Elasah the son of Shaphan, and Gemariah the son of Hilkijah (whom Zedekiah king of Judah sent to Babylon, unto Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon), saying,

௩யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய சிதேக்கியா பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரிடத்தில் கொடுக்கும்படி சாப்பானின் மகனாகிய எலெயாசாரின் கையிலும், இல்க்கியாவின் மகனாகிய கெமரியாவின் கையிலும் கொடுத்து, எருசலேமிலிருந்து பாபிலோனுக்கு அனுப்பிய கடிதத்தின் விபரம்:

4 Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all the captivity, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem unto Babylon:

௪இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய சேனைகளின் யெகோவா, தாம் எருசலேமிலிருந்து பாபிலோனுக்குச் சிறைப்பட்டுப்போகச்செய்த அனைவருக்கும் அறிவிக்கிறது என்னவென்றால்,

5 Build houses, and dwell in them, and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

௫நீங்கள் வீடுகளைக் கட்டி, குடியிருந்து, தோட்டங்களை நாட்டி, அவைகளின் கனியைச் சாப்பிடுங்கள்.

6 Take wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; and multiply there, and be not diminished.

௬நீங்கள் பெண்களை திருமணம்செய்து, மகன்களையும் மகள்களையும் பெற்று, உங்கள் மகன்களுக்குப் பெண்களைக்கொண்டு, உங்கள் மகள்களை ஆண்களுக்குக் கொடுங்கள்; இவர்களும் மகன்களையும் மகள்களையும் பெறட்டும்; நீங்கள் அங்கே குறுகாமல் பெருகி,

7 And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray unto Jehovah for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.

௭நான் உங்களைச் சிறைப்பட்டுப்போகச்செய்த பட்டணத்தின் சமாதானத்தைத் தேடி, அதற்காகக் யெகோவாவிடம் விண்ணப்பம்செய்யுங்கள்; அதற்குச் சமாதானம் இருக்கும்போது உங்களுக்கும் சமாதானமிருக்கும்.

8 For thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Let not your prophets that are in your midst, nor your diviners deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams, which ye like to dream.

௮மேலும், உங்கள் நடுவிலிருக்கிற உங்கள் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும் உங்கள் குறிகாரரும் உங்களை ஏமாற்றாமல் பார்த்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள்; சொப்பனம் காணச்செய்கிற உங்கள் சொப்பனக்காரர் சொல்வதைக் கேட்காமலும் இருங்கள் என்று இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.

9 For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith Jehovah.

௯அவர்கள் என் பெயரைச் சொல்லி உங்களுக்குப் பொய்யான தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்கிறார்கள்; நான் அவர்களை அனுப்பவில்லை என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.

10 For thus saith Jehovah: When seventy years shall be accomplished for Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in bringing you back to this place.

௧0பாபிலோனில் எழுபது வருடங்கள் முடிந்தபின்பு நான் உங்களைச் சந்தித்து, உங்களை இவ்விடத்திற்குத் திரும்பிவரச்செய்ய உங்கள்மேல் என் நல்வார்த்தையை நிறைவேறச்செய்வேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you in your latter end a hope.

௧௧நீங்கள் எதிர்பார்த்திருக்கும் முடிவை உங்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பதற்காக நான் உங்கள்பேரில் நினைத்திருக்கிற நினைவுகளை அறிவேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்; அவைகள் தீமைக்கல்ல, சமாதானத்திற்கு உகந்த நினைவுகளே.

12 And ye shall call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you;

௧௨அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் கூடிவந்து, என்னைத் தொழுதுகொண்டு, என்னை நோக்கி விண்ணப்பம்செய்வீர்கள்; நான் உங்கள் விண்ணப்பத்தை கேட்பேன்.

13 and ye shall seek me and find me, for ye shall search for me with all your heart,

௧௩உங்கள் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் என்னைத் தேடுவீர்கள் என்றால், என்னைத் தேடும்போது கண்டுபிடிப்பீர்கள்.

14 and I will be found of you, saith Jehovah. And I will turn your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith Jehovah; and I will bring you again into the place whence I have caused you to be carried away captive.

௧௪நான் உங்களுக்குக் காணப்படுவேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்; நான் உங்கள் சிறையிருப்பைத் திருப்பி, நான் உங்களைத் துரத்திவிட்ட எல்லா தேசங்களிலும் எல்லா இடங்களிலுமிருந்து உங்களைச் சேர்த்து, நான் உங்களை விலக்கியிருந்த இடத்துக்கே உங்களைத் திரும்பிவரச்செய்வேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.

15 If ye say, Jehovah hath raised us up prophets in Babylon;

௧௫யெகோவா எங்களுக்குப் பாபிலோனிலும் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளை எழுப்பினார் என்று சொல்லுகிறீர்கள்.

16 yea, thus saith Jehovah concerning the king that sitteth upon the throne of David, and concerning all the people that dwell in this city, your brethren that are not gone forth with you into captivity;

௧௬ஆனால், தாவீதின் சிங்காசனத்தில் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிற ராஜாவைக் குறித்தும், உங்களுடன் சிறையிருப்பில் புறப்பட்டுப்போகாமல் இந்த நகரத்தில் குடியிருக்கிற உங்கள் சகோதரராகிய எல்லா மக்களைக்குறித்தும்,

17 thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Behold, I will send against them the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, and will make them like the vile figs, that cannot be eaten for badness.

௧௭இதோ, நான் பட்டயத்தையும், பஞ்சத்தையும், கொள்ளைநோயையும் அவர்களுக்குள் அனுப்புவேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்; சாப்பிடக்கூடாத கெட்டுப்போன அத்திப்பழங்களுக்கு அவர்களை ஒப்பாக்குவேன் என்று சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.

18 And I will pursue them with the sword, with the famine, and with the pestilence, and will give them over to be driven hither and thither into all the kingdoms of the earth, to be an execration, and an astonishment, and a hissing, and a reproach, among all the nations whither I will drive them:

௧௮அவர்கள் என் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேளாமற்போனபடியால், நான் அவர்களைப் பட்டயத்தாலும், பஞ்சத்தாலும் கொள்ளைநோயாலும் பின்தொடர்ந்து, அவர்களைப் பூமியிலுள்ள எல்லா தேசங்களிலும் அலைந்து திரிகிறவர்களாகவும், நான் அவர்களைத் துரத்துகிற எல்லா மக்களிடத்திலும் சாபமாகவும், பாழாகவும், சத்தமிடுதலுக்கு இடமாகவும், நிந்தையாகவும் வைப்பேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.

19 because they have not hearkened to my words, saith Jehovah, wherewith I sent unto them my servants the prophets, rising early and sending; but ye have not hearkened, saith Jehovah.

௧௯நான் உங்களிடத்திற்குத் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளாகிய என் ஊழியக்காரரை ஏற்கனவே அனுப்பிக்கொண்டேயிருந்தும், நீங்கள் செய்தியைக் கேட்காமற்போனீர்களே என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.

20 But ye, all ye of the captivity, whom I have sent from Jerusalem to Babylon, hear the word of Jehovah.

௨0இப்போதும் சிறையிருக்கும்படி நான் எருசலேமிலிருந்து பாபிலோனுக்கு அனுப்பிவிட்ட நீங்களெல்லோரும் யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தையைக் கேளுங்கள்.

21 Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning Ahab the son of Kolaiah, and concerning Zedekiah the son of Maaseiah, who prophesy falsehood unto you in my name: Behold, I will give them into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he shall smite them before your eyes.

௨௧என் பெயரைச் சொல்லி, உங்களுக்குப் பொய்யான தீர்க்கதரிசனம்சொல்லுகிற கொலாயாவின் மகனாகிய ஆகாபையும், மாசெயாவின் மகனாகிய சிதேக்கியாவையும் குறித்து: இதோ, நான் அவர்களைப் பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சாரின் கையிலே ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கிறேன்; அவன் அவர்களை உங்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாகக் கொன்றுபோடுவான்.

22 And of them shall be taken up a curse by all the captivity of Judah that are in Babylon, saying, Jehovah make thee like Zedekiah and like Ahab, whom the king of Babylon roasted in the fire;

௨௨பாபிலோன் ராஜா நெருப்பினால் எரித்துப்போட்ட சிதேக்கியாவுக்கும் ஆகாபுக்கும் யெகோவா உன்னைச் சமமாக்குவாராக என்று, அவர்களைக்குறித்து ஒரு சாபவார்த்தை பாபிலோனில் சிறையிருக்கிற யூதா அனைவருக்குள்ளும் வழங்கும் என்று இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.

23 because they have committed infamy in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbours' wives, and have spoken words of falsehood in my name, which I had not commanded them: and I [am] he that knoweth, and [am] witness, saith Jehovah.

௨௩அவர்கள் இஸ்ரவேலில் புத்தியில்லாத காரியத்தைச் செய்து, தங்கள் அயலாருடைய மனைவிகளுடன் விபசாரம்செய்து, நான் அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லாத பொய்யான வார்த்தையை என் பெயரைச் சொல்லி சொன்னார்கள்; நான் அதை அறிவேன்; அதற்கு நானே சாட்சி என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார் என்று எழுதினான்.

24 And thou shalt speak to Shemaiah the Nehelamite, saying,

௨௪பின்னும் யெகோவா என்னை நோக்கி: நீ நெகெலாமியனாகிய செமாயாவுக்கும் சொல்லியனுப்பவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்:

25 Thus speaketh Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, saying, Because thou hast sent letters in thy name unto all the people that are at Jerusalem, and to Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, and to all the priests, saying,

௨௫நீ எருசலேமிலிருக்கிற எல்லா மக்களுக்கும், மாசெயாவின் மகனாகிய செப்பனியா என்னும் ஆசாரியனுக்கும், மற்ற ஆசாரியர்களுக்கும் உன் பெயரில் கடிதத்தை எழுதியனுப்பினது என்னவென்று இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.

26 Jehovah hath made thee priest in the stead of Jehoiada the priest, that there should be officers [in] the house of Jehovah, over every madman and self-made prophet, that thou shouldest put him in the stocks and in the shackles.

௨௬இவனுக்கு அவன் எழுதியிருந்த கடிதமாவது: நீங்கள் யெகோவாவுடைய ஆலயத்தின் விசாரிப்புக்காரனாக இருப்பதற்கும், பைத்தியம் பிடித்தவனைப்போல் தன்னைத் தீர்க்கதரிசியாக்கிக்கொள்ளுகிறவனாகிய மனிதனையும் நீர் காவல் அறையிலும் தொழுவிலும் போடுவதற்கும், யெகோவா உம்மை ஆசாரியனாயிருந்த யொயதாவின் இடத்தில் ஆசாரியனாக வைத்தாரே.

27 And now, why hast thou not reproved Jeremiah of Anathoth, who maketh himself a prophet to you?

௨௭இப்போதும் உங்களுக்குத் தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்லிவருகிற ஆனதோத் ஊரானாகிய எரேமியாவை நீர் கடிந்துகொள்ளாமற்போனதென்ன?

28 Forasmuch as he hath sent unto us in Babylon, saying, It will be long; build houses, and dwell [in them], and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

௨௮இந்தச் சிறையிருப்பு நீண்டகாலமாக இருக்கும்; நீங்கள் வீடுகளைக்கட்டி, அவைகளில் குடியிருந்து, தோட்டங்களை நாட்டி, அவைகளின் பழங்களைச் சாப்பிடுங்களென்று பாபிலோனில் இருக்கிற எங்களுக்குச் சொல்லியனுப்பினானென்று எழுதியிருந்தான்.

29 — And Zephaniah the priest read this letter in the ears of the prophet Jeremiah.

௨௯இந்தக் கடிதத்தைச் செப்பனியா என்கிற ஆசாரியன் எரேமியா தீர்க்கதரிசியின் காதுகள் கேட்க வாசித்தான்.

30 And the word of Jehovah came unto Jeremiah, saying,

௩0ஆகவே, யெகோவாவுடைய வார்த்தை எரேமியாவுக்கு உண்டாகி அவர்:

31 Send to all them of the captivity, saying, Thus saith Jehovah concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite: Because that Shemaiah hath prophesied unto you, and I sent him not, and he hath caused you to trust in falsehood;

௩௧சிறையிருக்கிற அனைவருக்கும் நீ சொல்லியனுப்பவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால்: நெகெலாமியனாகிய செமயாவைக்குறித்து, யெகோவா: செமாயாவை நான் அனுப்பாதிருந்தும், அவன் உங்களுக்குத் தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்லி, உங்களைப் பொய்யை நம்பச்செய்கிறதினால்,

32 therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he see the good that I will do for my people, saith Jehovah; because he hath spoken revolt against Jehovah.

௩௨இதோ, நான் நெகெலாமியனாகிய செமாயாவையும், அவன் சந்ததியையும் தண்டிப்பேன்; இந்த மக்கள் நடுவில் குடியிருப்பவன் ஒருவனும் அவனுக்கு இல்லாதிருப்பான்; நான் என் மக்களுக்குச் செய்யும் நன்மையை அவன் காண்பதில்லை என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்; யெகோவாவுக்கு விரோதமாக எதிர்த்துப் பேசினான் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார் என்று சொல் என்றார்.
