Jeremiah 22
1 Thus saith Jehovah: Go down to the house of the king of Judah, and speak there this word,
൧യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “നീ യെഹൂദാരാജാവിന്റെ അരമനയിൽ ചെന്ന്, അവിടെ ഈ വചനം പ്രസ്താവിക്കുക:
2 and say, Hear the word of Jehovah, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people who enter in through these gates.
൨“ദാവീദിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്ന യെഹൂദാരാജാവേ, നീയും, നിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരും, ഈ വാതിലുകളിൽകൂടി കടക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ ജനവും യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേട്ടുകൊള്ളുവിൻ!
3 Thus saith Jehovah: Execute judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor; and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, or the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place.
൩യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “നിങ്ങൾ നീതിയും ന്യായവും നടത്തി, കവർച്ചയ്ക്ക് ഇരയായവനെ പീഡകന്റെ കൈയിൽനിന്ന് വിടുവിക്കുവിൻ; പരദേശിയോടും അനാഥനോടും വിധവയോടും അന്യായവും ബലാല്ക്കാരവും ചെയ്യരുത്; ഈ സ്ഥലത്ത് കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തം ചൊരിയുകയുമരുത്.
4 For if ye do this thing indeed, then shall there enter in through the gates of this house kings sitting in the place of David upon his throne, riding in chariots and on horses, — he, and his servants, and his people.
൪നിങ്ങൾ ഈ വചനം അനുഷ്ഠിച്ചാൽ ദാവീദിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നവരും രഥങ്ങളിലും കുതിരപ്പുറത്തും കയറുന്നവരുമായ രാജാക്കന്മാരും അവരുടെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരും പ്രജകളും ഈ അരമനയുടെ വാതിലുകളിൽകൂടി കടക്കും.
5 But if ye will not hear these words, I have sworn by myself, saith Jehovah, that this house shall become a waste.
൫ഈ വചനം കേട്ടനുസരിക്കുകയില്ലെങ്കിലോ, ഈ അരമന ശൂന്യമായിപ്പോകുമെന്ന് ഞാൻ എന്നെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നു” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
6 For thus saith Jehovah concerning the house of the king of Judah: Thou art a Gilead unto me, the summit of Lebanon: verily I will make thee a wilderness, cities not inhabited.
൬യെഹൂദാരാജാവിന്റെ അരമനയോട് യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “നീ ഗിലെയാദും ലെബാനോന്റെ ശിഖരവും ആകുന്നു; എങ്കിലും ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഒരു മരുഭൂമിയും നിവാസികളില്ലാത്ത പട്ടണങ്ങളും ആക്കും.
7 And I will prepare destroyers against thee, every one with his weapons; and they shall cut down the choice of thy cedars, and cast [them] into the fire.
൭ഞാൻ ആയുധപാണികളായ സംഹാരകന്മാരെ നിന്റെനേരെ ഒരുക്കും; അവർ നിന്റെ വിശിഷ്ടദേവദാരുക്കളെ വെട്ടി തീയിൽ ഇട്ടുകളയും.
8 And many nations shall pass by this city, and they shall say every man to his neighbour, Wherefore hath Jehovah done thus unto this great city?
൮അനേകം ജനതകളും ഈ നഗരംവഴി കടന്നുപോകുമ്പോൾ ഓരോരുത്തൻ അവനവന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരനോട്: ‘ഈ മഹാനഗരത്തോട് യഹോവ ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തതെന്ത്’ എന്നു ചോദിക്കുകയും
9 And they shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of Jehovah their God, and worshipped other gods, and served them.
൯‘അവർ അവരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നിയമം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് അന്യദേവന്മാരെ നമസ്കരിച്ച് സേവിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു തന്നെ’ എന്നുത്തരം പറയുകയും ചെയ്യും.
10 Weep not for the dead, neither bemoan him; [but] weep sore for him that goeth away, for he shall return no more, nor see his native country.
൧൦മരിച്ചവനെക്കുറിച്ചു കരയണ്ടാ, അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു വിലപിക്കുകയും വേണ്ടാ; നാടുവിട്ടു പോകേണ്ടിവരുന്നവനെക്കുറിച്ചു തന്നെ കരയുവിൻ; അവൻ മടങ്ങിവരുകയില്ല; ജന്മദേശം ഇനി കാണുകയുമില്ല.
11 For thus saith Jehovah concerning Shallum the son of Josiah, the king of Judah, who reigned instead of Josiah his father, who went forth out of this place: He shall not return thither any more;
൧൧തന്റെ അപ്പനായ യോശീയാവിനു പകരം വാണശേഷം ഈ സ്ഥലം വിട്ടുപോയവനായ യോശീയാവിന്റെ മകനും യെഹൂദാരാജാവുമായ ശല്ലൂമിനെക്കുറിച്ച് യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “അവൻ ഇവിടേക്ക് മടങ്ങിവരുകയില്ല.
12 for he shall die in the place whither they have led him captive, and shall see this land no more.
൧൨അവനെ ബദ്ധനാക്കി കൊണ്ടുചെന്ന സ്ഥലത്തുവച്ചു തന്നെ അവൻ മരിക്കും; ഈ ദേശം അവൻ ഇനി കാണുകയുമില്ല.
13 Woe unto him that buildeth his house by unrighteousness, and his upper chambers by injustice; that taketh his neighbour's service without wages, and giveth him not his earning;
൧൩നീതികേടുകൊണ്ട് അരമനയും അന്യായം കൊണ്ട് മാളികയും പണിത്, കൂട്ടുകാരനെക്കൊണ്ടു വേല ചെയ്യിച്ച് കൂലി കൊടുക്കാതിരിക്കുകയും
14 that saith, I will build me a wide house, and spacious upper chambers; and he cutteth out for himself windows; and it is wainscoted with cedar, and painted with vermilion.
൧൪‘ഞാൻ വിസ്താരമുള്ള അരമനയും വിശാലമായ മാളികയും പണിയും’ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് കിളിവാതിലുകൾ വീതിയിൽ തീർക്കുകയും ദേവദാരുകൊണ്ടു തട്ടിടുകയും ചുവപ്പുചായംകൊണ്ടു മോടി പിടിപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന് അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!
15 Shalt thou reign, because thou viest with the cedar? Did not thy father eat and drink, and do judgment and justice? Then it was well with him.
൧൫ദേവദാരുകൊണ്ടു മികച്ചവൻ ആകുവാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് നീ രാജാവായിത്തീരുമോ? നിന്റെ അപ്പനും ഭക്ഷണപാനീയങ്ങൾ കഴിച്ച് നീതിയും ന്യായവും നടത്തിയിരുന്നില്ലയോ? അത് അവന് നന്മയായിത്തീർന്നു.
16 He judged the cause of the poor and needy; then it was well. Was not this to know me? saith Jehovah.
൧൬അവൻ എളിയവനും ദരിദ്രനും ന്യായം പാലിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു; അതിനാൽ അവന് നന്മ ഭവിച്ചു; ഇതല്ലയോ എന്നെ അറിയുക എന്നുള്ളത്?” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
17 But thine eyes and thy heart are only on thine extortion, and on the blood of the innocent, to shed it, and on oppression and on violence, to do it.
൧൭“എന്നാൽ നിന്റെ കണ്ണും മനസ്സും, അത്യാഗ്രഹത്തിനും, കുറ്റമില്ലാത്ത രക്തം ചൊരിയുന്നതിനും, പീഡനവും സാഹസവും ചെയ്യുന്നതിനും അല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നിനും ഉപകരിക്കുന്നില്ല.
18 Therefore thus saith Jehovah concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, the king of Judah: They shall not lament for him, Ah, my brother! or, Ah, sister! They shall not lament for him, Ah, lord! or Ah, his glory!
൧൮അതുകൊണ്ട് യഹോവ യോശീയാവിന്റെ മകനായി യെഹൂദാ രാജാവായ യെഹോയാക്കീമിനെക്കുറിച്ച് ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: അവനെക്കുറിച്ച് അവർ: “അയ്യോ സഹോദരാ, അയ്യോ സഹോദരീ” എന്നു ചൊല്ലി വിലപിക്കുകയില്ല; അവനെക്കുറിച്ച്: “അയ്യോ തമ്പുരാനേ, അയ്യോ തിരുമേനീ” എന്നു ചൊല്ലി വിലപിക്കുകയുമില്ല.
19 He shall be buried with the burial of an ass, dragged along and cast forth beyond the gates of Jerusalem.
൧൯യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ പടിവാതിലുകൾക്കു പുറത്ത് അവനെ വലിച്ചെറിഞ്ഞ് ഒരു കഴുതയെ കുഴിച്ചിടുന്നതുപോലെ അവനെ കുഴിച്ചിടും.
20 Go up to Lebanon, and cry; and give forth thy voice in Bashan, and cry from [the heights of] Abarim: for all thy lovers are destroyed.
൨൦ലെബാനോനിൽ കയറിച്ചെന്നു നിലവിളിക്കുക; ബാശാനിൽനിന്നു നിന്റെ ശബ്ദം ഉയർത്തുക; അബാരീമിൽനിന്നു നിലവിളിക്കുക; നിന്റെ സകലസ്നേഹിതന്മാരും തകർന്നുകിടക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.
21 I spoke unto thee in thy prosperity; [but] thou saidst, I will not hear. This hath been thy way from thy youth, that thou hearkenedst not unto my voice.
൨൧നിന്റെ ശുഭകാലത്തു ഞാൻ നിന്നോട് സംസാരിച്ചു; നീയോ: ‘ഞാൻ കേൾക്കുകയില്ല’ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; എന്റെ വാക്ക് അനുസരിക്കാതിരിക്കുന്നതായിരുന്നു ബാല്യംമുതൽ നിനക്കുള്ള ശീലം.
22 The wind shall feed on all thy shepherds, and thy lovers shall go into captivity; surely, then shalt thou be ashamed and confounded for all thy wickedness.
൨൨നിന്നെ മേയിക്കുന്നവരെ എല്ലാം കൊടുങ്കാറ്റു പറപ്പിക്കും; നിന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാർ പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകും. അപ്പോൾ നീ നിന്റെ സകലദുഷ്ടതയും നിമിത്തം ലജ്ജിച്ച് അമ്പരന്നുപോകും.
23 Thou inhabitress of Lebanon, that makest thy nest in the cedars, how pitiful shalt thou be when pangs come upon thee, pain as of a woman in travail!
൨൩ദേവദാരുക്കളിൽ കൂടുവച്ച് ലെബാനോനിൽ വസിക്കുന്നവളേ, നിനക്ക് വ്യസനവും, പ്രസവവേദന കിട്ടിയവളെപ്പോലെ വേദനയും ഉണ്ടാകുമ്പോൾ നീ എത്ര ഞരങ്ങും.
24 [As] I live, saith Jehovah, though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, the king of Judah, were a signet upon my right hand, yet will I pluck thee thence;
൨൪എന്നാണ, യെഹോയാക്കീമിന്റെ മകനായി യെഹൂദാ രാജാവായ കൊന്യാവ് എന്റെ വലങ്കൈക്ക് ഒരു മുദ്രമോതിരം ആയിരുന്നാലും ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഊരിയെറിഞ്ഞുകളയും” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
25 and I will give thee into the hand of them that seek thy life, and into the hand of them before whom thou art afraid, even into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of the Chaldeans.
൨൫നിനക്ക് പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുവാൻ നോക്കുന്നവരുടെ കൈയിലും നീ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നവരുടെ കൈയിലും ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ഏല്പിക്കും; ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസരിന്റെ കൈയിലും കൽദയരുടെ കൈയിലും തന്നെ.
26 And I will cast thee out, and thy mother that bare thee, into another country, where ye were not born; and there shall ye die.
൨൬നിന്നെയും നിന്നെ പ്രസവിച്ച അമ്മയെയും നിങ്ങൾ ജനിച്ചതല്ലാത്ത അന്യദേശത്തേക്കു ഞാൻ തള്ളിക്കളയും; അവിടെവച്ചു നിങ്ങൾ മരിക്കും.
27 And into the land whereunto they lift up their souls to return, thither shall they not return.
൨൭അവർ മടങ്ങിവരുവാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തേക്ക് അവർ മടങ്ങിവരുകയില്ല.
28 Is this man Coniah a despised broken vase? a vessel wherein is no delight? Wherefore are they thrown out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not?
൨൮കൊന്യാവ് എന്ന ഈ ആൾ, ‘സാരമില്ല’ എന്നുവച്ച് ഉടച്ചുകളഞ്ഞ ഒരു കലമോ? ആർക്കും ഇഷ്ടമില്ലാത്ത പാത്രമോ? അവനെയും അവന്റെ സന്തതിയെയും ത്യജിച്ച്, അവർ അറിയാത്ത ദേശത്തേക്ക് തള്ളിക്കളയുവാൻ കാരണം എന്ത്?
29 O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of Jehovah!
൨൯ദേശമേ, ദേശമേ, ദേശമേ, യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേൾക്കുക!
30 Thus saith Jehovah: Write this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days; for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling any more in Judah.
൩൦“ഈ ആളിനെ ‘മക്കളില്ലാത്തവൻ’ എന്നും ‘ആയുഷ്കാലത്ത് ഒരിക്കലും ശുഭംവരാത്തവൻ’ എന്നും എഴുതുവിൻ; അവന്റെ സന്തതിയിൽ യാതൊരുത്തനും ഇനി ദാവീദിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരുന്ന്, യെഹൂദയിൽ വാഴുവാൻ ഐശ്വര്യം പ്രാപിക്കുകയില്ല” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.
