Jeremiah 19
1 Thus saith Jehovah: Go and buy a potter's earthen flagon, and [take] of the elders of the people, and of the elders of the priests;
So spricht der HERR: Gehe hin und kaufe dir einen irdenen Krug vom Töpfer samt etlichen von den Ältesten des Volks und von den Ältesten der Priester
2 and go forth unto the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is by the entry of the pottery-gate, and proclaim there the words that I shall tell thee,
und gehe hinaus ins Tal Ben-Hinnom, das vor dem Ziegeltor liegt, und predige daselbst die Worte, die ich dir sage,
3 and say, Hear the word of Jehovah, O kings of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem. Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, the which whosoever heareth, his ears shall tingle;
und sprich: Höret des HERRN Wort, ihr Könige Judas und Bürger zu Jerusalem! So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Siehe, ich will ein solch Unglück über diese Stätte gehen lassen, daß, wer es hören wird, ihm die Ohren klingen sollen,
4 because they have forsaken me, and have estranged this place [from me], and have burned incense in it unto other gods, whom neither they nor their fathers have known, nor the kings of Judah; and have filled this place with the blood of innocents;
darum daß sie mich verlassen und diese Stätte einem fremden Gott gegeben haben und andern Göttern drinnen geräuchert haben, die weder sie noch ihre Väter noch die Könige Judas gekannt haben, und haben diese Stätte voll unschuldigen Bluts gemacht.
5 and they have built the high places of Baal, to burn their sons in the fire as burnt-offerings unto Baal, which I commanded not, nor spake it, neither came it up into my mind:
Denn sie haben dem Baal Höhen gebauet, ihre Kinder zu verbrennen dem Baal zu Brandopfern, welches ich ihnen weder geboten noch davon geredet habe, dazu in mein Herz nie kommen ist.
6 therefore behold, days come, saith Jehovah, that this place shall no more be called Topheth, nor Valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter.
Darum siehe, es wird die Zeit kommen, spricht der HERR, daß man diese Stätte nicht mehr Thopheth noch das Tal Ben-Hinnom, sondern Würgetal heißen wird.
7 And I will make void the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem in this place; and I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hand of them that seek their life, and their carcases will I give as food to the fowl of the heavens and to the beasts of the earth.
Denn ich will den Gottesdienst Judas und Jerusalems dieses Orts zerstören und will sie durchs Schwert fallen lassen vor ihren Feinden unter der Hand derer, so nach ihrem Leben stehen, und will ihre Leichname den Vögeln des Himmels und den Tieren auf Erden zu fressen geben;
8 And I will make this city an astonishment and a hissing; every one that passeth by shall be astonished and hiss because of all the plagues thereof.
und will diese Stadt wüst machen und zum Spott, daß alle, die vorübergehen, werden sich verwundern über alle ihre Plage und ihrer spotten.
9 And I will cause them to eat the flesh of their sons and the flesh of their daughters, and they shall eat everyone the flesh of his friend, in the siege and in the straitness wherewith their enemies, and they that seek their lives, shall straiten them.
Ich will sie lassen ihrer Söhne und Töchter Fleisch fressen, und einer soll des andern Fleisch fressen in der Not und Angst, damit sie ihre Feinde und die, so nach ihrem Leben stehen, bedrängen werden.
10 And thou shalt break the flagon in the sight of the men that go with thee,
Und du sollst den Krug zerbrechen vor den Männern, die mit dir gegangen sind.
11 and shalt say unto them, Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Even so will I break this people and this city, as one breaketh a potter's vessel, that cannot be made whole again. And they shall bury in Topheth, till there be no place to bury.
Und sprich zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Eben wie man eines Töpfers Gefäß zerbricht, das nicht mag wieder ganz werden, so will ich dies Volk und diese Stadt auch zerbrechen, und sollen dazu im Thopheth begraben werden, weil sonst kein Raum sein wird zu begraben.
12 Thus will I do unto this place, saith Jehovah, and to the inhabitants thereof, and make this city as Topheth.
So will ich mit dieser Stätte, spricht der HERR, und ihren Einwohnern umgehen, daß diese Stadt werden soll gleichwie Thopheth.
13 And the houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah shall be as the place of Topheth, defiled, all the houses upon whose roofs they have burned incense unto all the host of the heavens, and have poured out drink-offerings unto other gods.
Dazu sollen die Häuser zu Jerusalem und die Häuser der Könige Judas ebenso unrein werden als die Stätte Thopheth, ja, alle Häuser, da sie auf den Dächern geräuchert haben allem Heer des Himmels und andern Göttern Trankopfer geopfert haben.
14 And Jeremiah came from Topheth, whither Jehovah had sent him to prophesy; and he stood in the court of Jehovah's house, and said to all the people,
Und da Jeremia wieder von Thopheth kam, dahin ihn der HERR gesandt hatte zu weissagen, trat er in den Vorhof am Hause des HERRN und sprach zu allem Volk:
15 Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring upon this city and upon all her cities all the evil that I have spoken against it; for they have hardened their necks, not to hear my words.
So spricht der HERR Zebaoth, der Gott Israels: Siehe, ich will über diese Stadt und über alle ihre Städte all das Unglück kommen lassen, das ich wider sie geredet habe, darum daß sie halsstarrig sind und meine Worte nicht hören wollen.
