Jeremiah 12
1 Righteous art thou, Jehovah, when I plead with thee; yet will I speak with thee of [thy] judgments. Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? [wherefore] are all they at ease that deal very treacherously?
੧ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਬਹਿਸ ਕਰਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਧਰਮੀ ਠਹਿਰੇਂਗਾ, ਤਦ ਵੀ ਮੈਂ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੋਲਾਂਗਾ, - ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਕਿਉਂ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ? ਕਿਉਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਛਲੀਏ ਛਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਖੀ ਹਨ?
2 Thou hast planted them, they also have taken root: they advance, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, but far from their reins.
੨ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਜੜ੍ਹ ਵੀ ਫੜ ਲਈ, ਉਹ ਵਧਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਫਲ ਵੀ ਲਿਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਲ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੈ।
3 But thou, Jehovah, knowest me; thou hast seen me, and proved my heart toward thee. Drag them out like sheep for the slaughter, and set them apart for the day of slaughter.
੩ਪਰ ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਦਿਲ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੱਲ ਹੈ ਪਰਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕੱਟੀ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਭੇਡ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧੱਕ ਦੇ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਟੇ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਲਈ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਕਰ!
4 How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of all the fields wither? Because of the wickedness of them that dwell therein, the beasts and the birds perish; for they say, He will not see our end.
੪ਧਰਤੀ ਕਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਸੋਗ ਕਰੇ, ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਪੈਲੀ ਦਾ ਸਾਗ ਪੱਤ ਕੁਮਲਾਇਆ ਰਹੇ? ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਦੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਸ਼ੂ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਛੀ ਹੂੰਝੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਆਖਿਆ, ਉਹ ਸਾਡਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਾ ਵੇਖੇਗਾ।
5 If thou hast run with footmen, and they have wearied thee, how wilt thou then contend with horses? And if in a land of peace thou thinkest thyself in security, how wilt thou then do in the swelling of the Jordan?
੫ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਪੈਦਲ ਤੁਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਦੌੜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਥਕਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਬਰਾਬਰੀ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ? ਜੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਯਰਦਨ ਦੇ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ?
6 For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee, even they have cried aloud after thee. Believe them not, though they speak good [words] unto thee.
੬ਤੇਰੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਨੇ ਵੀ, - ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਛਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਪੁਕਾਰਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਸਾਹ ਨਾ ਕਰ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਚੰਗਾ ਬੋਲਣ।
7 I have forsaken my house, I have cast off my heritage, I have given the beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.
੭ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਘਰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਰਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
8 My heritage is become unto me as a lion in the forest; it hath raised its voice against me: therefore have I hated it.
੮ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿਰਾਸ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਬੱਬਰ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਬਣ ਗਈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਆਪਣੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਕੱਢੀ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਘਿਣ ਹੈ।
9 My heritage is unto me [as] a speckled bird of prey; the birds of prey round about are against her. Go, assemble all the beasts of the field, bring them to devour.
੯ਕੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਿਰਾਸ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਚਿਤਲਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰੀ ਪੰਛੀ ਹੈ? ਕੀ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰੀ ਪੰਛੀ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਚੌਹੀਂ ਪਾਸੀਂ ਹਨ? ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਰੜ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦਰਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰੋ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆਓ ਭਈ ਉਹ ਖਾਣ!
10 Many shepherds have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness:
੧੦ਬਹੁਤੇ ਆਜੜੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਗੂਰੀ ਬਾਗ਼ ਨੂੰ ਉਜਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਹੇਠ ਮਿੱਧਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਥਰੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਰਾਨ ਉਜਾੜ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
11 they have made it a desolation; desolate, it mourneth unto me: the whole land is made desolate, for no man layeth it to heart.
੧੧ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਰਾਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਥੇਹ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਵਿਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿਰਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ।
12 Spoilers are come upon all heights in the wilderness; for the sword of Jehovah devoureth from one end of the land even to the [other] end of the land: no flesh hath peace.
੧੨ਉਜਾੜ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਉੱਚਿਆਈਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੁਟੇਰੇ ਆ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦੇਸ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਕੰਢੇ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਜੇ ਕੰਢੇ ਤੱਕ ਖਾਂਦੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਕਿਸੇ ਬਸ਼ਰ ਲਈ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
13 They have sown wheat, and they reap thorns; they have put themselves to pain, [and] do not profit. Be ye therefore ashamed of your revenues, because of the fierce anger of Jehovah.
੧੩ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਬੀਜੀ ਕਣਕ, ਤੇ ਵੱਢੇ ਕੰਡੇ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਥਕਾਇਆ ਪਰ ਲਾਭ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਹੋਇਆ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੈਦਾਵਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਲੱਜਿਆਵਾਨ ਹੋਣ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਤੇਜ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ।
14 Thus saith Jehovah against all mine evil neighbours, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit: Behold, I will pluck them up out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.
੧੪ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਬੁਰੇ ਗੁਆਂਢੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਜੋ ਮਿਰਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਰਿਸ ਬਣਾਇਆ, ਵੇਖ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਭੂਮੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਖਾੜ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪੁੱਟ ਸੁੱਟਾਂਗਾ
15 And it shall come to pass, after I have plucked them up, I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them back, each one to his inheritance, and each one to his land.
੧੫ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਭਈ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਖਾੜ ਸੁੱਟਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੋੜਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਰਹਮ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਸਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਹਰੇਕ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਮਿਰਾਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ
16 And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, [As] Jehovah liveth — even as they taught my people to swear by Baal — they shall be built up in the midst of my people.
੧੬ਤਦ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਦਿਲ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਸਹੁੰ ਖਾਣ ਭਈ “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ” ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਬਆਲ ਦੀ ਸਹੁੰ ਖਾਣੀ ਸਿਖਾਈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਬਣ ਜਾਣਗੇ
17 And if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith Jehovah.
੧੭ਪਰ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਨਾ ਸੁਣਨਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਕੌਮ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਕਾ ਹੀ ਉਖਾੜ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਟਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ!।
