Jeremiah 11
1 The word that came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying,
௧யெகோவாவால் எரேமியாவுக்கு உண்டான வசனம்:
2 Hear ye the words of this covenant; and speak ye unto the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
௨நீங்கள் கேட்டு யூதாவின் மனிதருக்கும் எருசலேமின் குடிமக்களுக்கும் சொல்லவேண்டிய உடன்படிக்கையின் வார்த்தைகளாவன:
3 And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel: Cursed be the man that obeyeth not the words of this covenant
௩என் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டு, நான் உங்களுக்குக் கற்பிக்கிறபடியே எல்லாக் காரியங்களையும் செய்யுங்கள்; அப்பொழுது நீங்கள் என் மக்களாயிருப்பீர்கள், நான் உங்கள் தேவனாயிருப்பேன்;
4 which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, from the iron furnace, saying, Hearken unto my voice and do them, according to all that I command you; so shall ye be my people, and I will be your God:
௪நான் உங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களை இரும்புச் சூளையாகிய எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து புறப்படச்செய்த நாளில் அவர்களுக்குக் கற்பித்த இந்த உடன்படிக்கையின் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேளாத மனிதன் சபிக்கப்பட்டவனென்று, இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா சொல்கிறாரென்று அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்.
5 that I may perform the oath that I have sworn unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is this day. And I answered and said, Amen, Jehovah!
௫இன்றையதினம் இருக்கிறதுபோல, பாலும் தேனும் ஓடுகிற தேசத்தை உங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பேன் என்று நான் அவர்களுக்குச் சொன்ன வாக்கை நான் உறுதிப்படுத்த இப்படி ஆகும் என்றார்; அதற்கு நான் மறுமொழியாக, அப்படியே ஆகக்கடவது யெகோவாவே என்றேன்.
6 And Jehovah said unto me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying: Hear the words of this covenant, and do them.
௬அப்பொழுது யெகோவா என்னை நோக்கி: நீ யூதாவின் பட்டணங்களிலும் எருசலேமின் வீதிகளிலும் இந்த வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் சொல்லி: இந்த உடன்படிக்கையின் வார்த்தைகளை நீங்கள் கேட்டு, அவைகளின்படியே செய்யுங்கள்.
7 For I earnestly protested unto your fathers, in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, unto this day, rising early and protesting, saying, Hearken unto my voice.
௭நான் உங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களை எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து வரவழைத்த நாள்முதல், இந்நாள்வரை நான் அவர்களுக்கு உறுதியான சாட்சியாய் என் சத்தத்தைக் கேளுங்களென்று ஏற்கனவே சாட்சி விளங்கும்விதமாக எச்சரித்துவந்தேன்.
8 But they have not hearkened, nor inclined their ear, but have walked every one in the stubbornness of their evil heart; and I have brought upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded [them] to do, and they have not done.
௮ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் கேளாமலும், தங்கள் செவியைச் சாயாமலும்போய், அவரவர் தம்தம் பொல்லாத இருதயக் கடினத்தின்படி நடந்தார்கள்; ஆதலால் நான் அவர்கள் செய்யும்படி கட்டளையிட்டதும், அவர்கள் செய்யாமற்போனதுமான இந்த உடன்படிக்கையின் வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் அவர்களுக்குப் பலிக்கச்செய்வேன் என்று சொல் என்றார்.
9 And Jehovah said unto me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
௯மேலும் யெகோவா என்னை நோக்கி: யூதாவின் மனிதருக்குள்ளும் எருசலேமின் குடிமக்களுக்குள்ளும் ஒரு கட்டுப்பாடு காணப்படுகிறது.
10 They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, who refused to hear my words; and they have gone after other gods to serve them. The house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers.
௧0அவர்கள் என் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்கமாட்டோமென்று அந்நிய தெய்வங்களைச் சேவிக்க அவைகளைப் பின்பற்றி, தங்களுடைய முன்னோர்களின் அக்கிரமங்களுக்குத் திரும்பினார்கள்; நான் தங்கள் பிதாக்களுடன் செய்த உடன்படிக்கையை இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தாரும் யூதா குடும்பத்தாரும் மீறிப்போட்டார்கள்.
11 Therefore thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will bring evil upon them, from which they shall not be able to escape; and they will cry unto me, and I will not hearken unto them.
௧௧ஆகையினால் இதோ, அவர்கள் தப்பித்துக்கொள்ளமாட்டாத தீங்கை அவர்கள்மேல் வரச்செய்வேன்; அப்பொழுது என்னை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடுவார்கள்; நான் அவர்களைக் கேளாதிருப்பேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
12 Then shall the cities of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem go and cry unto the gods unto whom they have burned incense; but they shall not save them at all in the time of their trouble.
௧௨அப்பொழுது யூதா பட்டணங்களின் மனிதரும், எருசலேமின் குடிகளும் போய் தாங்கள் தூபங்காட்டியிருந்த தெய்வங்களை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டும், அவைகள் அவர்களுடைய ஆபத்துக்காலத்தில் அவர்களை காப்பாற்றுவதில்லை.
13 For [as] the number of thy cities, are thy gods, O Judah; and [as] the number of the streets of Jerusalem, have ye set up altars to the Shame, altars to burn incense unto Baal.
௧௩யூதாவே, உன் பட்டணங்களின் எண்ணிக்கையும் உன் தெய்வங்களின் எண்ணிக்கையும் சரி; எருசலேமுடைய வீதிகளின் எண்ணிக்கையும், நீங்கள் பாகாலுக்குத் தூபங்காட்டும்படி அந்த வெட்கமான காரியத்திற்கு ஸ்தாபித்த பீடங்களின் எண்ணிக்கையும் சரி.
14 And thou, pray not for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them; for I will not hear in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.
௧௪ஆதலால் நீ இந்த ஜனத்துக்காக விண்ணப்பம் செய்யவேண்டாம், அவர்களுக்காக மன்றாடவும் கெஞ்சவும் வேண்டாம்; அவர்கள் தங்கள் ஆபத்தில் என்னை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிடும்போது நான் அவர்களைக் கேளாதிருப்பேன்.
15 What hath my beloved to do in my house, seeing that the more part practise their evil devices, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? When thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.
௧௫தீயவருடன் மகா தீமை செய்யும்போது, என் பிரியமானவளுக்கு என் வீட்டில் என்ன இருக்கிறது? பரிசுத்த மாம்சத்தை உன்னைவிட்டுத் தாண்டிப்போகச்செய்வார்கள்; உன் பொல்லாப்பு நடக்கும்போது நீ சந்தோசப்படுகிறாயே.
16 Jehovah had called thy name, A green olive-tree, fair, of goodly fruit: with the noise of a great tumult he hath kindled fire upon it, and its branches are broken.
௧௬நல்ல பழம் இருக்கிற நேர்த்தியும் பச்சையுமான ஒலிவமரமென்னும் பெயரைக் யெகோவா உனக்குச் சூட்டினார்; ஆனால் மகா அமளியின் சத்தமாய் அதைச் சுற்றிலும் நெருப்பைக் கொளுத்துகிறார், அதின் கொம்புகள் முறிக்கப்பட்டது.
17 For Jehovah of hosts, that planted thee, hath pronounced evil against thee, for the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done for themselves, to provoke me to anger in burning incense unto Baal.
௧௭பாகாலுக்குத் தூபங்காட்டுகிறதினால் எனக்குக் கோபமுண்டாக்க இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தாரும், யூதா குடும்பத்தாரும் தங்களுக்குக் கேடாகச் செய்த பொல்லாப்புக்காக உன்மேல் தீங்கை வரச்செய்வேன் என்று உன்னை நாட்டின சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
18 And Jehovah hath given me knowledge, and I know [it]; then thou shewedst me their doings.
௧௮அதை யெகோவா எனக்கு அறிவித்ததினால் அறிந்துகொண்டேன்; அவர்களுடைய செய்கைகளை அப்பொழுது எனக்குத் தெரிவித்தார்.
19 And I was like a tame lamb [that] is led to the slaughter; and I knew not that they devised devices against me, [saying, ] Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.
௧௯மரத்தை அதின் பழங்களுடன் அழித்துப்போடுவோமென்றும், அவன் ஜீவனுள்ளோருடைய தேசத்திலிராமலும் அவன் பெயர் இனி நினைக்கப்படாமலும்போக அவனை அழிப்போமென்றும், எனக்கு விரோதமாய் ஆலோசனை செய்தார்கள் என்பதை அறியாதிருந்து, நான் அடிக்கப்படுவதற்குக் கொண்டுபோகப்படும் சாதுவான ஆட்டுக்குட்டியைப்போல இருந்தேன்.
20 But thou, Jehovah of hosts, who judgest righteously, who triest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I revealed my cause.
௨0சேனைகளின் யெகோவாவே, உள்ளத்தின் எண்ணங்களையும் இருதயத்தையும் சோதித்தறிகிற நீதியுள்ள நியாயாதிபதியே, நீர் அவர்களுக்கு நீதி செய்கிறதைப் பார்ப்பேனாக; என் வழக்கை உமக்கு வெளிப்படுத்திவிட்டேன் என்றேன்.
21 Therefore thus saith Jehovah concerning the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying, Prophesy not in the name of Jehovah, that thou die not by our hand,
௨௧ஆதலால் நீ எங்கள் கையினால் இறக்காமல் இருக்க யெகோவாவுடைய பெயரைக்கொண்டு தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்லவேண்டாம் என்று சொல்லி, உன் உயிரை வாங்கத்தேடுகிற ஆனதோத்தின் மனிதரைக்குறித்துக் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்:
22 — therefore thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Behold, I punish them: the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine;
௨௨இதோ, இதற்காக உங்களை விசாரிப்பேன்; இளவயதுள்ளவர்கள் பட்டயத்தால் இறப்பார்கள்; அவர்கள் மகன்களும் அவர்கள் மகள்களும் பஞ்சத்தால் இறப்பார்கள்.
23 and there shall be no remnant of them; for I will bring evil upon the men of Anathoth, in the year of their visitation.
௨௩அவர்களில் மீதியாய் இருப்பவர்கள் இல்லை; நான் ஆனதோத்தின் மனிதரை விசாரிக்கும் வருடத்தில் அவர்கள்மேல் ஆபத்தை வரச்செய்வேன் என்று சேனைகளின் யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
