Isaiah 1
1 The vision of Isaiah the son of Amos, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah, kings of Judah.
Visão de Isaias, filho d'Amós, a qual viu sobre Judá e Jerusalém, nos dias d'Uzias, Jothão, Achaz, e Ezequias, reis de Judá.
2 Hear, [ye] heavens, and give ear, [thou] earth! for Jehovah hath spoken: I have nourished and brought up children; and they have rebelled against me.
Ouvi, ó céus, e presta ouvido, tu ó terra; porque fala o Senhor: Criei filhos, e exalcei-os; mas eles prevaricaram contra mim.
3 The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib; Israel doth not know, my people hath no intelligence.
O boi conhece o seu possuidor, e o jumento a mangedoura do seu dono; mas Israel não tem conhecimento, o meu povo não entende.
4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that corrupt themselves! They have forsaken Jehovah; they have despised the Holy One of Israel; they are turned away backward.
Ai da nação pecadora, do povo carregado de iniquidade, da semente de malignos, dos filhos corruptores: deixaram ao Senhor, blasfemaram o Santo de Israel, tornaram-se para traz.
5 Why should ye be smitten any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.
Porque ainda mais serieis castigados? ainda tanto mais vos rebelarieis: toda a cabeça está enferma e todo o coração fraco.
6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in him; wounds, and weals, and open sores: they have not been dressed, nor bound up, nor mollified with oil.
Desde a planta do pé até à cabeça não há nele coisa inteira, senão feridas, e inchaços, e chagas podres, não espremidas, nem vendadas, nem nenhuma delas amolecida com óleo.
7 Your country is desolate; your cities are burned with fire; your land, strangers eat it up in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
A vossa terra é uma assolação, as vossas cidades estão abrazadas do fogo: a vossa terra os estranhos a devoram em vossa presença; e é uma assolação, como a subversão por estranhos.
8 And the daughter of Zion is left, as a booth in a vineyard, as a night-lodge in a cucumber-garden, as a besieged city.
E a filha de Sião se ficou como a cabana na vinha, como a choupana no pepinal, como a cidade cercada.
9 Unless Jehovah of hosts had left us a very small residue, we should have been as Sodom, we should have been like unto Gomorrah.
Se o Senhor dos exércitos nos não deixara algum pouco de resto, já como Sodoma seríamos, e semelhantes a Gomorrha.
10 Hear the word of Jehovah, rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, people of Gomorrah!
Ouvi a palavra do Senhor, vós príncipes de Sodoma: prestai ouvidos à lei do nosso Deus, vós, ó povo de Gomorrha.
11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith Jehovah. I am sated with burnt-offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and in the blood of bullocks, and of lambs, and of he-goats I take no pleasure.
De que me serve a mim a multidão de vossos sacrifícios, diz o Senhor? Já estou farto dos holocaustos de carneiros, e da gordura de animais cevados: nem folgo com o sangue de bezerros, nem de cordeiros, nem de bodes.
12 When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this from your hand — to tread my courts?
Quando vindes a aparecer perante mim, quem requereu isto de vossas mãos, que viesseis a pisar os meus átrios?
13 Bring no more vain oblations! Incense is an abomination unto me, — new moon and sabbath, the calling of convocations — wickedness and the solemn meeting I cannot bear.
Não me tragais mais ofertas debalde: o incenso é para mim abominação, e as luas novas, e os sábados, e a convocação das congregações; não posso suportar iniquidade, nem mesmo o ajuntamento solemne.
14 Your new moons and your set feasts my soul hateth: they are a burden to me; I am wearied of bearing [them].
As vossas luas novas, e as vossas solenidades as aborrece a minha alma; já me são pesadas: já estou cançado de as sofrer.
15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you; yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.
Pelo que, quando estendeis as vossas mãos, escondo de vós os meus olhos; e até quando multiplicais a oração não ouço, porque as vossas mãos estão cheias de sangue.
16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; — cease to do evil,
Lavai-vos, purificai-vos, tirai a maldade de vossos atos de diante dos meus olhos: cessai de fazer mal:
17 learn to do well: seek judgment, gladden the oppressed, do justice to the fatherless, plead for the widow.
Aprendei a fazer bem; procurai o juízo; ajudai o opresso: fazei justiça ao órfão; tratai da causa das viúvas.
18 Come now, let us reason together, saith Jehovah: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
Vinde agora, e argui-me, diz o Senhor: ainda que os vossos pecados sejam como a escarlata, eles se tornarão brancos como a neve: ainda que sejam vermelhos como o carmezim, se tornarão como a branca lã.
19 If ye be willing and hearken, ye shall eat the good of the land;
Se quizerdes, e ouvirdes, comereis o bem desta terra.
20 but if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken.
Mas se recusardes, e fordes rebeldes, sereis devorados à espada; porque a boca do Senhor o disse.
21 How is the faithful city become a harlot! It was full of judgment; righteousness used to lodge in it, but now murderers.
Como se fez prostituta a cidade fiel! ela que estava cheia de juízo, justiça habitava nela, mas agora homicidas.
22 Thy silver is become dross, thy wine is mixed with water:
A tua prata se tornou em escórias, o teu vinho se misturou com água.
23 thy princes are rebellious, and companions of thieves; every one loveth presents, and hunteth after rewards; they judge not the fatherless, and the cause of the widow cometh not unto them.
Os teus príncipes são rebeldes, e companheiros dos ladrões: cada um deles ama as peitas, e correm após salários: não fazem justiça ao órfão, e não chega perante eles a causa das viúvas
24 Therefore saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, the Mighty One of Israel: Ah! I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies.
Porquanto diz o Senhor Deus dos exércitos, o Forte de Israel: Ah, consolar-me-ei acerca dos meus adversários, e vingar-me-ei dos meus inimigos:
25 And I will turn my hand upon thee, and will thoroughly purge away thy dross, and take away all thine alloy;
E tornarei contra a minha mão, e purificarei inteiramente as tuas escórias; e tirar-te-ei todo o teu estanho.
26 and I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning. Afterwards thou shalt be called, Town of righteousness, Faithful city.
E te restituirei os teus juízes, como foram de antes; e os teus conselheiros, como antigamente; e então te chamarão cidade de justiça, cidade fiel.
27 Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and they that return of her with righteousness.
Sião será remida com juízo, e os que voltam para ela com justiça.
28 But the ruin of the transgressors and of the sinners [shall be] together; and they that forsake Jehovah shall be consumed.
Mas para os transgressores e os pecadores haverá juntamente destruição; e os que deixarem o Senhor serão consumidos.
29 For they shall be ashamed of the terebinths that ye have desired, and ye shall blush for the gardens that ye have chosen.
Porque vos envergonhareis pelos carvalhos que cobiçastes, e sereis confundidos pelos jardins que escolhestes.
30 For ye shall be as a terebinth whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.
Porque sereis como o carvalho, ao qual caem as folhas, e como a floresta que não tem água.
31 And the strong shall be for tow, and his work a spark; and they shall both burn together, and there shall be none to quench [them].
E o forte se tornará em estopa, e a sua obra em faísca; e ambos arderão juntamente, e não haverá quem os apague.
