Isaiah 66
1 Thus saith Jehovah: The heavens are my throne, and the earth is my footstool: what is the house that ye will build unto me? and what is the place of my rest?
সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “স্বর্গ আমার সিংহাসন, আর পৃথিবী আমার পা রাখার স্থান। আমার জন্য তোমরা কোথায় বাসগৃহ নির্মাণ করবে? আমার বিশ্রামস্থানই বা হবে কোথায়?
2 Even all these things hath my hand made, and all these things have been, saith Jehovah. But to this man will I look: to the afflicted and contrite in spirit, and who trembleth at my word.
আমার হস্তই কি এই সমস্ত নির্মাণ করেনি, সেকারণেই তো এগুলি অস্তিত্বপ্রাপ্ত হয়েছে?” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা ঘোষণা করেন। “এই ধরনের মানুষকে আমি মূল্যবান জ্ঞান করব, যে নতনম্র ও চূর্ণ আত্মা বিশিষ্ট, যে আমার বাক্যে কম্পিত হয়।
3 He that slaughtereth an ox, smiteth a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, breaketh a dog's neck; he that offereth an oblation, [it is as] swine's blood; he that presenteth a memorial of incense, [is as] he that blesseth an idol. As they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations,
কিন্তু যে কেউ ষাঁড় বলিদান করে, সে এক নরঘাতকের তুল্য, যে কেউ মেষশাবক উৎসর্গ করে, সে যেন কুকুরের ঘাড় ভাঙে; যে কেউ শস্য-নৈবেদ্য উৎসর্গ করে, সে শূকরের রক্ত উপহার দেয়, আর যে কেউ সুগন্ধি ধূপ উৎসর্গ করে, সে যেন প্রতিমাপুজো করে। তারা সবাই নিজের নিজের পথ বেছে নিয়েছে, তাদের ঘৃণ্য বস্তুগুলিতে তাদের প্রাণ আমোদিত হয়;
4 I also will choose their calamities, and will bring their fears upon them; because I called, and none answered, I spoke, and they did not hear, but did that which was evil in mine eyes, and chose that wherein I delight not.
সেই কারণে, আমিও তাদের প্রতি কঠোর আচরণ করব, তাদের আতঙ্কের বিষয়ই তাদের উপরে নিয়ে আসব। কারণ আমি ডাকলে একজনও উত্তর দেয়নি, আমি কথা বললে কেউই শোনেনি। তারা আমার দৃষ্টিতে কেবলই অন্যায় করেছে, আমার অসন্তুষ্টিজনক যত কাজ করেছে।”
5 Hear the word of Jehovah, ye that tremble at his word: Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let Jehovah be glorified, and let us see your joy! but they shall be ashamed.
তোমরা সদাপ্রভুর বাক্য শ্রবণ করো, তোমরা তাঁর বাক্যে কাঁপতে থাকো: “তোমাদের যে ভাইয়েরা তোমাদের ঘৃণা করে, আমার নামের জন্য যারা তোমাদের সমাজচ্যুত করে, তারা বলেছে, ‘সদাপ্রভু মহিমান্বিত হোন যেন আমরা তোমাদের আনন্দ দেখতে পাই!’ তবুও তারা লজ্জিত হবে।
6 A voice of tumult from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of Jehovah that rendereth recompence to his enemies!
নগর থেকে ওই হট্টগোলের শব্দ শোনো, মন্দির থেকে গণ্ডগোলের শব্দ শোনো! এ হল সদাপ্রভুর রব, তাঁর শত্রুদের প্রাপ্য প্রতিফল তিনি তাদের দিচ্ছেন।
7 Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man-child.
“প্রসব ব্যথা ওঠার আগেই সে প্রসব করল; গর্ভযন্ত্রণা আসার পূর্বেই সে এক পুত্রসন্তানের জন্ম দিল।
8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Can a land be made to bring forth in one day? shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her sons.
কেউ কি এরকম কথা কখনও শুনেছে? কে এরকম বিষয় কখনও দেখেছে? কোনো দেশের জন্ম কি একদিনে হতে পারে, কিংবা এক মুহূর্তের মধ্যে কোনো জাতির উদ্ভব কি হতে পারে? তবুও, সিয়োনের গর্ভযন্ত্রণা হতে না হতেই, সে তার ছেলেমেয়েদের জন্ম দিল।”
9 Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith Jehovah; I who cause to bring forth, shall I shut [the womb]? saith thy God.
সদাপ্রভু বলেন, “প্রসবকাল উপস্থিত করে, আমি কি প্রসব হতে দেব না? প্রসব হওয়ার সময় উপস্থিত করে আমি কি গর্ভ রুদ্ধ করব?” তোমার ঈশ্বর একথা বলেন।
10 Rejoice with Jerusalem, and be glad for her, all ye that love her; rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn over her:
“জেরুশালেমের সঙ্গে উল্লসিত হও ও তার সঙ্গে আনন্দ করো; তোমরা যারা তাকে ভালোবাসো; তোমরা যারা তার জন্য শোক করেছ, তার সঙ্গে অতিমাত্রায় উল্লাস করো।
11 because ye shall suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; because ye shall drink out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.
তোমরা তার সান্ত্বনাদায়ী স্তনযুগল থেকে দুধ পান করে তৃপ্ত হবে; তোমরা গভীরভাবে সেই স্তন চুষে খাবে ও তার উপচে পড়া প্রাচুর্যে আনন্দিত হবে।”
12 For thus saith Jehovah: Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing torrent; and ye shall suck, ye shall be carried upon the side, and be dandled upon the knees.
কারণ সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “আমি নদীস্রোতের মতো তার প্রতি শান্তি প্রবাহিত করব, জাতিসমূহের ঐশ্বর্য বন্যার স্রোতের মতো নিয়ে আসব; তার স্তনযুগল থেকে তার সন্তানেরা পুষ্টি লাভ করবে, তাদের দুই হাতে বহন করা হবে, কোলে তুলে তাদের খেলানো হবে।
13 As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
যেভাবে মা তার শিশুকে সান্ত্বনা দেয়, তেমনই আমি তোমাদের সান্ত্বনা দেব; আর তোমরা জেরুশালেমেই সান্ত্বনা লাভ করবে।”
14 And ye shall see [this], and your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like the grass; and the hand of Jehovah shall be known toward his servants, and he will have indignation toward his enemies.
এসব দেখে তোমাদের অন্তর আনন্দিত হবে, আর তোমরা ঘাসের মতোই বেড়ে উঠবে; সদাপ্রভুর হাত তাঁর দাসদের কাছে নিজের পরিচয় দেবে, কিন্তু তাঁর ক্রোধ তাঁর শত্রুদের কাছে প্রদর্শিত হবে।
15 For behold, Jehovah will come with fire, and his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.
দেখো, সদাপ্রভু আগুন নিয়ে আসছেন, তার রথগুলি আসছে ঘূর্ণিবায়ুর মতো; তিনি সক্রোধে তাঁর কোপ ঢেলে দেবেন, আগুনের শিখায় ঢেলে দেবেন তাঁর তিরস্কার।
16 For by fire and by his sword will Jehovah enter into judgment with all flesh: and the slain of Jehovah shall be many.
কারণ আগুন ও তাঁর তরোয়াল নিয়ে সদাপ্রভু সব মানুষের বিচার করবেন, অনেকেই সদাপ্রভুর দ্বারা নিহত হবে।
17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one in the midst; that eat swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall perish together, saith Jehovah.
“যারা নিজেদের পবিত্র ও শুচিশুদ্ধ করে, পবিত্র উদ্যানের মধ্যে প্রতিমার পিছনে যায়—শূকর, ইঁদুর ও অন্যান্য ঘৃণ্য মাংস খায়—একসঙ্গে তাদের ভয়ংকর পরিসমাপ্তি হবে,” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন।
18 And I, — their works and their thoughts [are before me]. ...[The time] cometh for the gathering of all nations and tongues; and they shall come, and see my glory.
“আর আমি, তাদের ক্রিয়াকলাপ ও তাদের কল্পনার জন্য আসতে চলেছি। আমি সব দেশ ও ভাষাভাষীকে সংগ্রহ করব। তারা এসে আমার মহিমা দেখবে।
19 And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those that escape of them unto the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow; to Tubal and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory: and they shall declare my glory among the nations.
“আমি তাদের মধ্যে এক চিহ্ন স্থাপন করব। অবশিষ্ট যারা বেঁচে থাকবে, তাদের কয়েকজনকে আমি বিভিন্ন দেশে প্রেরণ করব—তর্শীশে, লিবিয়ায়, লূদে (যারা তিরন্দাজির জন্য বিখ্যাত), তূবল ও গ্রীসে ও দূরবর্তী দ্বীপগুলিতে, যারা আমার খ্যাতির কথা শোনেনি বা আমার মহিমা দেখেনি। তারা জাতিসমূহের কাছে আমার মহিমার কথা ঘোষণা করবে।
20 And they shall bring all your brethren out of all the nations as an oblation unto Jehovah, upon horses, and in chariots, and in covered waggons, and upon mules, and upon dromedaries, to my holy mountain, to Jerusalem, saith Jehovah, as the children of Israel bring an oblation in a clean vessel into the house of Jehovah.
তারা সমস্ত দেশ থেকে তোমার ভাইদের সদাপ্রভুর কাছে উপহাররূপে জেরুশালেমে আমার পবিত্র পর্বতে নিয়ে আসবে—ঘোড়ায়, রথে ও শকটে, খচ্চরে ও উটের উপরে চাপিয়ে তাদের নিয়ে আসা হবে,” একথা সদাপ্রভু বলেন। “তারা তাদের নিয়ে আসবে, যেভাবে ইস্রায়েলীরা তাদের শস্য-নৈবেদ্য সংস্কারগতভাবে শুচিশুদ্ধ পাত্রে সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরে নিয়ে আসে।
21 And I will also take of them for priests [and] for Levites, saith Jehovah.
আর আমি তাদের মধ্যে কাউকে কাউকে যাজক ও লেবীয় হওয়ার জন্য মনোনীত করব,” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন।
22 For as the new heavens and the new earth which I will make shall remain before me, saith Jehovah, so shall your seed and your name remain.
সদাপ্রভু বলেন, “যেভাবে নতুন আকাশমণ্ডল ও নতুন পৃথিবী আমার সাক্ষাতে অটল থাকবে, তেমনই তোমার নাম ও তোমার সন্তানেরা চিরস্থায়ী হবে।
23 And it shall come to pass from new moon to new moon, and from sabbath to sabbath, all flesh shall come to worship before me, saith Jehovah.
এক অমাবস্যা থেকে অন্য অমাবস্যা ও এক সাব্বাথ-দিন থেকে অন্য সাব্বাথ-দিন পর্যন্ত সমস্ত মানবজাতি এসে আমার সামনে প্রণিপাত করবে,” সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন।
24 And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorrence unto all flesh.
“তারা গিয়ে, যারা আমার বিদ্রোহী হয়েছিল, তাদের মৃতদেহ দেখবে; যে কীট তাদের খেয়েছিল তারা কখনও মরবে না, তাদের আগুন কখনও নিভবে না। তারা সমস্ত মানবজাতির কাছে বিতৃষ্ণার পাত্র হবে।”
