Isaiah 65
1 I am sought out of them that inquired not [for me], I am found of them that sought me not; I have said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name.
Io sono stato ricercato da quelli che prima non chiedevano di me, sono stato trovato da quelli che prima non mi cercavano; ho detto: “Eccomi, eccomi”, a una nazione che non portava il mio nome.
2 I have stretched out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, who walk in a way not good, after their own thoughts;
Ho stese tutto il giorno le mani verso un popolo ribelle che cammina per una via non buona, seguendo i propri pensieri;
3 the people that provoke me to anger continually to my face, sacrificing in gardens and burning incense upon the bricks;
verso un popolo che del continuo mi provoca sfacciatamente ad ira, che offre sacrifizi nei giardini e fa fumare profumi sui mattoni;
4 who sit down among the graves, and lodge in the secret places; who eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things [is in] their vessels;
che sta fra i sepolcri e passa le notti nelle caverne, che mangia carne di porco ed ha nei suoi vasi vivande impure;
5 who say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.
che dice: “Fatti in là non t’accostare perch’io son più santo di te”. Cose siffatte, sono per me un fumo nel naso, un fuoco che arde da mane a sera.
6 Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom,
Ecco, tutto ciò sta scritto dinanzi a me; io non mi tacerò, anzi vi darò la retribuzione, sì, vi verserò in seno la retribuzione
7 your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith Jehovah, who have burned incense upon the mountains, and outraged me upon the hills; and I will measure their former work into their bosom.
delle iniquità vostre, dice l’Eterno, e al tempo stesso delle iniquità dei vostri padri, che hanno fatto fumare profumi sui monti e mi hanno oltraggiato sui colli; io misurerò loro in seno il salario della loro condotta passata.
8 Thus saith Jehovah: As the new wine is found in the cluster, and it is said, Destroy it not, for a blessing is in it; so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy [them] all.
Così parla l’Eterno: Come quando si trova del succo nel grappolo si dice: “Non lo distruggere perché lì v’è una benedizione”, così farò io, per amor de’ miei servi, e non distruggerò tutto.
9 And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah a possessor of my mountains; and mine elect shall possess it, and my servants shall dwell there.
Io farò uscire da Giacobbe una progenie e da Giuda un erede dei miei monti; e i eletti possederanno il paese, e i miei servi v’abiteranno.
10 And the Sharon shall be a fold for flocks, and the valley of Achor a couching-place of the herds, for my people that have sought me.
Saron sarà un chiuso di greggi, e la valle d’Acor, un luogo di riposo alle mandre, per il mio popolo che m’avrà cercato.
11 But ye who forsake Jehovah, who forget my holy mountain, who prepare a table for Gad, and fill up mixed wine unto Meni:
Ma voi, che abbandonate l’Eterno, che dimenticate il monte mio santo, che apparecchiate la mensa a Gad ed empite la coppa del vin profumato a Meni,
12 I will even assign you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down in the slaughter; because I called, and ye did not answer, I spoke, and ye did not hear; but ye did what was evil in mine eyes, and chose that wherein I delight not.
io vi destino alla spada, e vi chinerete tutti per essere scannati; poiché io ho chiamato, e voi non avete risposto; ho parlato, e voi non avete dato ascolto; ma avete fatto ciò ch’è male agli occhi miei, e avete preferito ciò che mi dispiace.
13 Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, my servants shall eat, and ye shall be hungry; behold, my servants shall drink, and ye shall be thirsty; behold, my servants shall rejoice, and ye shall be ashamed;
Perciò, così parla il Signore, l’Eterno: Ecco, i miei servi mangeranno, ma voi avrete fame; ecco, i miei servi berranno, ma voi avrete sete; ecco, i miei servi gioiranno, ma voi sarete confusi;
14 behold, my servants shall sing aloud for gladness of heart, and ye shall cry out for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit.
ecco, i miei servi canteranno per la gioia del loro cuore, ma voi griderete per l’angoscia del cuor vostro, e urlerete perché avrete lo spirito affranto.
15 And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto mine elect; for the Lord Jehovah will slay thee, and will call his servants by another name:
E lascerete il vostro nome come una imprecazione fra i miei eletti: “Così il Signore, l’Eterno, faccia morir te!”; ma Egli darà ai suoi servi un altro nome,
16 so that he who blesseth himself in the land shall bless himself by the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the land shall swear by the God of truth: because the former troubles shall be forgotten, and because they shall be hidden from mine eyes.
in guisa che chi s’augurerà d’esser benedetto nel paese, lo farà per l’Iddio di verità, e colui che giurerà nel paese, giurerà per l’Iddio di verità; perché le afflizioni di prima saran dimenticate, e saranno nascoste agli occhi miei.
17 For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
Poiché, ecco, io creo de’ nuovi cieli e una nuova terra; non ci si ricorderà più delle cose di prima; esse non torneranno più in memoria.
18 But be glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create. For behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
Rallegratevi, sì, festeggiate in perpetuo per quanto io sto per creare; poiché, ecco, io creo Gerusalemme per il gaudio, e il suo popolo per la gioia.
19 And I will rejoice over Jerusalem, and will joy in my people; and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
Ed io festeggerò a motivo di Gerusalemme, e gioirò del mio popolo; quivi non si udran più voci di pianto né gridi d’angoscia;
20 There shall be no more thenceforth an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not completed his days; for the youth shall die a hundred years old, and the sinner being a hundred years old shall be accursed.
non vi sarà più, in avvenire, bimbo nato per pochi giorni, né vecchio che non compia il numero de’ suoi anni; chi morrà a cent’anni morrà giovane, e il peccatore sarà colpito dalla maledizione a cent’anni.
21 And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit thereof:
Essi costruiranno case e le abiteranno; pianteranno vigne e ne mangeranno il frutto.
22 they shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree shall be the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
Non costruiranno più perché un altro abiti, non pianteranno più perché un altro mangi; poiché i giorni del mio popolo saran come i giorni degli alberi; e i miei eletti godranno a lungo dell’opera delle loro mani.
23 They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for terror; for they are the seed of the blessed of Jehovah, and their offspring with them.
Non si affaticheranno invano, e non avranno più figliuoli per vederli morire a un tratto; poiché saranno la progenie dei benedetti dall’Eterno, e i loro rampolli staran con essi.
24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
E avverrà che, prima che mi invochino, io risponderò; parleranno ancora, che già li avrò esauditi.
25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the ox; and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith Jehovah.
Il lupo e l’agnello pasceranno assieme, il leone mangerà la paglia come il bue, e il serpente si nutrirà di polvere. Non si farà più danno né guasto su tutto il mio monte santo, dice l’Eterno.
