Isaiah 61
1 The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is upon me, because Jehovah hath anointed me to announce glad tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and opening of the prison to them that are bound;
Der Geist Gottes des HERRN ruht auf mir, weil der HERR mich gesalbt hat, um den Elenden frohe Botschaft zu bringen; er hat mich ja gesandt, um die, welche gebrochenen Herzens sind, zu verbinden, den Gefangenen die Freilassung anzukündigen und den Gebundenen die Entfesselung,
2 to proclaim the acceptable year of Jehovah, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
ein Gnadenjahr des HERRN und einen Tag der Rache unsers Gottes auszurufen, um allen Trauernden Trost zu bringen,
3 to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, that beauty should be given unto them instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of the spirit of heaviness: that they might be called terebinths of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified.
den um Zion Trauernden als Gnadengeschenk zu verleihen Kopfschmuck statt der schmutzigen Asche, Freudenöl statt des Trauergewandes, Lobgesang statt eines verzagten Geistes, damit man sie nenne ›Eichen der Gerechtigkeit‹, ›die Pflanzung des HERRN ihm zur Verherrlichung‹.
4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the places desolate from generation to generation.
Dann werden sie die uralten Trümmerstätten wieder aufbauen und, was in früheren Zeiten zerstört worden ist, wieder aufrichten; sie werden die verödeten Städte wiederherstellen, Plätze, die wüst dagelegen haben von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht.
5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your ploughmen and your vinedressers.
Und fremde Leute werden antreten, um eure Herden zu weiden, und Ausländer werden eure Ackerleute und Weingärtner sein;
6 But as for you, ye shall be called priests of Jehovah; it shall be said of you: Ministers of our God. Ye shall eat the wealth of the nations, and into their glory shall ye enter.
ihr aber werdet ›Priester des HERRN‹ heißen, und ›Diener unsers Gottes‹ wird man euch nennen; den Reichtum der Heidenvölker werdet ihr genießen und in ihre Herrlichkeit eintreten.
7 Instead of your shame [ye shall have] double; instead of confusion they shall celebrate with joy their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double; everlasting joy shall be unto them.
Die erlittene Schmach wird euch doppelt ersetzt werden, und zum Entgelt für erfahrene Schmähung werden sie über ihren Anteil jubeln; daher sollen sie doppelten Besitz in ihrem Lande erhalten, und ewige Freude wird ihnen zuteil werden.
8 For I, Jehovah, love judgment, I hate robbery with wrong; and I will give their recompence in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
Denn ich, der HERR, liebe das Recht und hasse frevelhaften Raub; so will ich ihnen denn ihren Lohn getreulich geben und einen ewigen Bund mit ihnen schließen.
9 And their seed shall be known among the nations, and their offspring among the peoples: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are a seed that Jehovah hath blessed.
Ihre Nachkommenschaft soll unter den Völkerschaften wohlbekannt sein und ihre Sprößlinge inmitten der Völker: alle, die sie sehen, werden sie anerkennen als ein vom HERRN gesegnetes Geschlecht.
10 I will greatly rejoice in Jehovah, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with the priestly turban, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
»Laut frohlocken will ich über den HERRN, jubeln soll meine Seele über meinen Gott! Denn er hat mich in Gewänder des Heils gekleidet, mir den Mantel der Gerechtigkeit umgelegt wie einem Bräutigam, der sich den Kopfschmuck nach Priesterart zurichtet, und wie eine Braut, die ihr Geschmeide anlegt.
11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as a garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth, so the Lord Jehovah will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.
Denn wie die Erde ihr Gesproß hervorbringt und wie ein Garten seine Aussaat sprossen läßt, so wird Gott der HERR Gerechtigkeit sprossen lassen und Ruhm angesichts aller Völker.«
