Isaiah 54
1 Exult, thou barren, that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and shout for joy, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith Jehovah.
Juble, du Kinderlose, die nicht Mutter geworden ist; brich in Jubel aus und jauchze, die du keine Geburtsschmerzen hast kennengelernt! Denn »die Kinder der Einsamen werden zahlreicher sein als die Kinder der Verehelichten«, ist der Ausspruch des HERRN.
2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thy habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes.
Erweitere den Raum deines Zeltes, und man spanne die Decken deiner Wohnräume weit auseinander, ohne zu sparen! Mache deine Zeltseile lang und schlage deine Zeltpflöcke fest ein!
3 For thou shalt spread abroad on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall possess nations, and they shall make desolate cities to be inhabited.
Denn nach rechts und nach links wirst du dich ausbreiten, und deine Nachkommenschaft wird ganze Völker beerben und verödete Städte neu bevölkern.
4 Fear not, for thou shalt not be ashamed; neither be thou confounded, for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.
Fürchte dich nicht, denn du sollst nicht enttäuscht werden, und schäme dich nicht, denn du wirst nicht wieder zu erröten brauchen, sondern sollst die Schande deiner Jugendzeit vergessen und der Schmach deines Witwenstandes nicht länger gedenken müssen.
5 For thy Maker is thy husband: Jehovah of hosts is his name, and thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: the God of the whole earth shall he be called.
Denn der dich geschaffen hat, ist dein Eheherr: ›HERR der Heerscharen‹ ist sein Name; und dein Erlöser ist der Heilige Israels: er heißt ›der Gott der ganzen Erde‹.
6 For Jehovah hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and as a wife of youth, that hath been refused, saith thy God.
Denn als die verlassene und im Herzen tiefbekümmerte Gattin ruft dich der HERR zurück: »Wie könnte man auch die Jugendgeliebte verstoßen?« spricht dein Gott.
7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.
»Nur einen kurzen Augenblick lang habe ich dich verlassen, aber mit herzlichem Erbarmen will ich dich wieder heimholen;
8 In the outpouring of wrath have I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting loving-kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith Jehovah, thy Redeemer.
in überwallendem Zorn habe ich mein Angesicht einen Augenblick lang vor dir verhüllt, aber mit unendlicher Huld will ich mich deiner nun wieder erbarmen«, spricht der HERR, dein Erlöser.
9 For this is [as] the waters of Noah unto me, since I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth: so have I sworn that I will no more be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.
»Denn hierbei will ich’s halten wie einst bei der Flut Noahs: Wie ich (damals) geschworen habe, daß die Flut Noahs nie wieder die Erde überschwemmen solle, ebenso habe ich jetzt geschworen, daß ich nicht länger Zorn gegen dich hegen und dich nicht wieder schelten will.
10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my loving-kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall my covenant of peace be removed, saith Jehovah, that hath mercy on thee.
Denn mögen auch die Berge weichen und die Hügel wanken, so soll doch meine Gnade nicht von dir weichen und mein Friedensbund nicht wanken«, spricht der HERR, dein Erbarmer.
11 [Thou] afflicted, tossed with tempest, not comforted! Behold, I will set thy stones in antimony, and lay thy foundations with sapphires;
»Du Gebeugte, Sturmbewegte, nie Getröstete! Fürwahr, ich will deine Steine in Bleiglanz einlagern und dich mit Saphirsteinen gründen
12 and I will make thy battlements of rubies, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of precious stones.
und will deine Mauerzinnen aus Rubinen herstellen und deine Tore aus Karfunkelsteinen und deine ganze Umfriedung aus Edelgestein.
13 And all thy children [shall be] taught of Jehovah, and great shall be the peace of thy children.
Alle deine Söhne werden vom HERRN unterwiesen und das Wohlbefinden deiner Söhne wird reich gesegnet sein.
14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression, for thou shalt not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near thee.
Durch Gerechtigkeit wirst du fest gegründet werden: entschlage dich der Angst, denn du hast nichts mehr zu fürchten, und halte dich fern von Schrecken, denn er soll an dich nicht herankommen!
15 Behold, they shall surely gather together, [but] not by me: whosoever gathereth together against thee shall fall because of thee.
Wisse wohl: wenn man Angriffe auf dich macht, so geht das nicht von mir aus; wer zum Angriff gegen dich vorgeht, soll um deinetwillen zu Fall kommen.
16 Behold, it is I who have created the smith that bloweth in the fire of coal, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the destroyer to ravage.
Ich habe ja doch den Schmied geschaffen, der das Kohlenfeuer zur Glut entfacht und eine Waffe mit seiner Kunstfertigkeit herstellt; und ich bin es auch, der den Verderber geschaffen hat, um zu vernichten.
17 No weapon that is prepared against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that riseth against thee in judgment, thou shalt condemn. This is the inheritance of the servants of Jehovah; and their righteousness is of me, saith Jehovah.
Keine Waffe, die gegen dich geschmiedet wird, soll etwas ausrichten, und jede Zunge, die zum Rechtsstreit gegen dich auftritt, wirst du Lügen strafen: dies ist das Erbteil der Knechte des HERRN und die Gerechtigkeit, die ihnen von mir zuteil wird« – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN.
