Isaiah 48
1 Hear ye this, house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, who swear by the name of Jehovah, and make mention of the God of Israel, not in truth, nor in righteousness.

2 For they are named after the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel: Jehovah of hosts is his name.
Fa milaza ny tenany ho avy amin’ ny tanana masìna izy ka miankina amin’ Andriamanitry ny Isiraely; Jehovah, Tompon’ ny maro, no anarany.
3 I have declared the former things long ago; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I caused them to be heard: I wrought suddenly, and they came to pass.
Ny zavatra taloha dia efa voalazako hatramin’ ny fahiny, ary naloaky ny vavako izany sady nambarako; Tampoka no nanaovako izany, ary tonga izany.
4 Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass,
Satria fantatro fa maditra ianao, ka ozaby ny hatokao, ary varahina ny handrinao,
5 so I have long ago declared [them] to thee; before they came to pass I caused thee to hear [them]; lest thou shouldest say, Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, or my molten image hath commanded them.
Dia nambarako taminao hatramin’ ny fahiny izany, eny, fony tsy mbola tonga aza izany, dia efa nambarako taminao rahateo, fandrao hataonao hoe: Ny sampiko no nanao izany, ary ny sarin-javatra voasokitra sy ny sarin-javatra an-idina no nandidy izany.
6 Thou heardest, see all this; — and ye, will not ye declare [it]? I have caused thee to hear new things from this time, and things hidden, and that thou knewest not:
Efa renao, ka dia jereo izany rehetra izany, moa ianareo tsy hanambara izany va? Mampandre anao zava-baovao kosa Aho hatramin’ izao, dia zavatra miafina izay tsy fantatrao.
7 they are created now, and not long ago; and before this day thou hast not heard them, lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them.
Vao izao no namoronana azy, fa tsy hatramin’ ny fahiny, ary tsy mbola nandre azy ianao talohan’ ny andro anio, fandrao ianao hanao hoe: Indro, ny efa fantatro ihany izany.
8 Yea, thou heardest not, yea, thou knewest not, yea, from of old thine ear was not opened; for I knew that thou wouldest ever deal treacherously, and thou wast called a transgressor from the womb.
Fa tsy nandre na nahalala ianao; Eny, hatramin’ ny fahiny aza no tsy mbola nisokatra ny sofinao; fa fantatro fa tena mpivadika ianao sady natao hoe mpiodina hatrany an-kibo.
9 For my name's sake I will defer mine anger, and [for] my praise will I refrain as to thee, that I cut thee not off.
Noho ny anarako dia ononiko ny fahatezerako, ary mba hiderana ahy dia manindry fo aminao Aho, mba tsy hamongorana anao.
10 Behold, I have refined thee, but not as silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.
Indro, nodioviko ianao, nefa tsy toy ny volafotsy; Efa nizaha toetra anao tao amin’ ny memy fahoriana Aho.
11 For mine own sake, for mine own sake, will I do [it]; for how should [my name] be profaned? and I will not give my glory unto another.
Noho ny tenako, eny, noho ny tenako ihany no anaovako izany; indrisy, lotoina ny anarako! Ary ny voninahitro tsy homeko ny hafa.
12 Hearken unto me, Jacob, and [thou] Israel, my called. I [am] HE; I, the first, and I, the last.
Mihainoa Ahy, ry Jakoba, sy y Isiraely izay nantsoiko: Tsy miova Aho; Izaho no voalohany, ary Izaho koa no farany.
13 Yea, my hand hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spread abroad the heavens: I call unto them, they stand up together.
Eny, ny tanako no nanorina ny fanambanin’ ny tany, ary ny tanako ankavanana no namelatra ny lanitra; Raha antsoiko ireo, dia indray miseho avokoa.
14 All ye, gather yourselves together, and hear: which among them hath declared these things? He whom Jehovah hath loved shall execute his pleasure on Babylon, and his arm [shall be on] the Chaldeans.
Mivoria ianareo rehetra, ka mihainoa: Iza moa amin’ ireny no mba efa nanambara izany; ilay tian’ i Jehovah no hahefa ny sitrapony amin’ i Babylona ary ny sandriny ho amin’ ny Kaldeana.
15 I, [even] I, have spoken; yea, I have called him; I have brought him, and his way shall be prosperous.
Izaho dia Izaho ihany no miteny sady miantso azy, nitondra azy Aho, ka hambinina ny lalany.
16 Come near unto me, hear ye this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I; and now the Lord Jehovah hath sent me, and his Spirit.
Manatona Ahy ianareo, ka mihainoa; hatramin’ ny taloha no efa tsy nitenenako tamin’ ny mangingina, hatry ny fony vao nisian’ ireo dia teo Aho, ary ankehitriny Jehovah Tompo no naniraka Ahy sy ny Fanahiny.
17 Thus saith Jehovah, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I [am] Jehovah thy God, who teacheth thee for [thy] profit, who leadeth thee in the way that thou shouldest go.
Izao no lazain’ i Jehovah, Mpanavotra anao, dia ny Iray Masin’ ny Isiraely: Izaho, Jehovah Andriamanitrao, no nampianatra anao hahita soa sady mitarika anao amin’ ny lalana tokony halehanao.
18 Oh that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! Then would thy peace have been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea;
Toy izay anie ianao mba nihaino ny didiko! Dia ho tonga tahaka ny ony ny fiadananao, ary ho tahaka ny onjan-dranomasina ny fahamarinanao,
19 and thy seed would have been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels like the gravel thereof: their name should not have been cut off nor destroyed from before me.
Ary ho tahaka ny fasika ny taranakao, ary ny aloaky ny kibonao ho tahaka ny sombim-pasika; Ny anarany tsy ho tapaka na ho foana eo anatrehako.
20 Go ye forth from Babylon, flee from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing; declare, cause this to be heard, utter it to the end of the earth; say ye, Jehovah hath redeemed his servant Jacob.
Mivoaha hiala any Babylona; miezaha avy any amin’ ny Kaldeana; torio amin’ ny feo mahafaly, ary ambarao, ka aelezo hatrany amin’ ny faran’ ny tany, lazao hoe: Jehovah efa nanavotra an’ i Jakoba mpanompony.
21 And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts; he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them; yea, he clave the rock, and the waters gushed out.
Ary tsy nangetaheta ireo tamin’ ny nitondrany azy tany an-efitra; Nampiboiboika rano ho azy avy tamin’ ny vatolampy Izy, Eny, nampitresaka ny vatolampy Izy, ka dia nigororoana ny rano.
22 There is no peace, saith Jehovah, unto the wicked.
