Isaiah 42
1 Behold my servant whom I uphold, mine elect [in whom] my soul delighteth! I will put my Spirit upon him; he shall bring forth judgment to the nations.
১দেখ, আমার দাস, যাঁকে আমি সাহায্য করি; আমার মনোনীত লোক, যাঁর উপর আমি সন্তুষ্ট। আমি তাঁর উপরে আমার আত্মা দেব; তিনি জাতিদের কাছে ন্যায়বিচার নিয়ে আসবেন।
2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
২তিনি চিৎকার করবেন না বা জোরে কথা বলবেন না; তিনি রাস্তায় রাস্তায় তাঁর গলার স্বর শোনাবেন না।
3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment according to truth.
৩তিনি থেঁৎলে যাওয়া নল ভাঙবেন না আর মিটমিট করে জ্বলতে থাকা সলতে নিভাবেন না। তিনি সততার সঙ্গে ন্যায়বিচার চালু করবেন।
4 He shall not faint nor be in haste, till he have set justice in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.
৪পৃথিবীতে ন্যায়বিচার স্থাপন না করা পর্যন্ত তিনি দুর্বল হবেন না বা নিরুত্সাহ হবেন না। উপকূলের লোকেরা তাঁর নিয়মের অপেক্ষায় থাকবে।
5 Thus saith God, Jehovah, he that created the heavens and stretched them out, he that spread forth the earth and its productions, he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
৫সদাপ্রভু ঈশ্বর আকাশ সৃষ্টি করে বিস্তার করেছেন; তিনি পৃথিবী ও তাতে যা জন্মায় তা সব ছড়িয়ে দিয়েছেন; তিনি সেখানকার লোকদের নিঃশ্বাস দেন আর যারা সেখানে যারা বাস করে তাদের জীবন দেন। তিনি বলেন,
6 I, Jehovah, have called thee in righteousness, and will take hold of thy hand; and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the nations,
৬আমি, সদাপ্রভু, তোমাকে ধার্ম্মিকতায় ডেকেছি এবং আমি তোমার হাত ধরে রাখব। আমি তোমাকে রক্ষা করব এবং আমার লোকদের জন্য তোমাকে একটা ব্যবস্থার মত করব আর অন্যান্য জাতিদের জন্য আলোর মত করব।
7 to open the blind eyes, to bring forth the prisoner from the prison, them that sit in darkness out of the house of restraint.
৭তুমি অন্ধদের চোখ খুলে দেবে, জেলখানা থেকে বন্দীদের মুক্ত করবে, কারাকূপ থেকে বন্দীদের মুক্ত করবে এবং কারাবাস থেকে যারা অন্ধকারে বসে তাদেরকে মুক্ত করবে।
8 I am Jehovah, that is my name; and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
৮“আমি সদাপ্রভু, এই আমার নাম এবং আমি অন্যকে আমার গৌরব কিংবা প্রতিমাকে আমার প্রশংসা পেতে দেব না।
9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth will I cause you to hear them.
৯দেখ, আগেকার ঘটনাগুলো ঘটে গেছে আর এখন আমি নতুন ঘটনার কথা ঘোষণা করব; সেগুলো ঘটবার আগেই তোমাদের কাছে তা জানাচ্ছি।”
10 Sing unto Jehovah a new song, his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein, the isles and their inhabitants.
১০হে সাগরে চলাচলকারীরা, সাগরের মধ্যেকার সব প্রাণী, হে উপকূল সব আর তার মধ্যেকার বাসিন্দারা, তোমরা সবাই সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে একটা নতুন গান কর, পৃথিবীর শেষ সীমা থেকে তাঁর প্রশংসার গান গাও।
11 Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up [their voice], the villages that Kedar doth inhabit; let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains:
১১মরুভূমি ও তার শহরগুলো জোরে জোরে প্রশংসা করুক; কেদরীয়দের গ্রামগুলোও আনন্দের জন্য চিত্কার করুক, শেলার লোকেরা গান করুক, পাহাড়ের চূড়াগুলো থেকে চিৎকার করুক।
12 let them give glory unto Jehovah, and declare his praise in the islands.
১২তারা সদাপ্রভুর গৌরব করুক; উপকূলগুলোর মধ্যে তাঁর প্রশংসা ঘোষণা করুক।
13 Jehovah will go forth as a mighty man, he will stir up jealousy like a man of war: he will cry, yea, he will shout; he will shew himself mighty against his enemies.
১৩একজন শক্তিশালী লোকের মত করে সদাপ্রভু বের হয়ে আসবেন; তিনি যোদ্ধার মত তাঁর আগ্রহকে উত্তেজিত করবেন; তিনি চিৎকার করে যুবক হাঁক দেবেন আর শত্রুদের ওপর তার ক্ষমতা দেখাবেন।
14 Long time have I holden my peace; I have been still, I have restrained myself: I will cry like a woman that travaileth; I will blow and pant at once.
১৪আমি সদাপ্রভু অনেক দিন চুপ করেছিলাম; আমি শান্ত থেকে নিজেকে দমন করে রেখেছিলাম। কিন্তু এখন প্রসবকারিণী স্ত্রীলোকের মত আমি চিৎকার করছি, হ্যাঁ করে শ্বাস নিচ্ছি ও হাঁপাচ্ছি।
15 I will lay waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.
১৫আমি পাহাড়-পর্বতগুলো গাছপালাহীন করব আর সেখানকার সমস্ত গাছপালা শুকিয়ে ফেলব এবং আমি নদীগুলোকে দ্বীপ বানাব আর জলাশয়গুলো শুকিয়ে ফেলব।
16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they know not, in paths that they know not will I lead them; I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.
১৬আমি অন্ধদের এক রাস্তা দিয়ে নিয়ে আসব যা তারা জানে না; যে পথ তারা জানে না সেই পথে তাদের চালাব। তাদের আগে আগে আমি অন্ধকারকে আলো করব আর অসমান জায়গাকে সমান করে দেব। এ সবই আমি করব, আমি তাদেরকে পরিত্যক্ত করব না।
17 They shall be turned back, they shall be covered with shame, that confide in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye are our gods.
১৭কিন্তু যারা খোদাই করা প্রতিমার উপর নির্ভর করে, যারা ছাঁচে ঢালা মুর্ত্তিগুলোকে বলে, “তোমরা আমাদের দেবতা,” আমি তাদের ভীষণ লজ্জায় ফেলে ফিরিয়ে দেব।
18 — Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see.
১৮“ওহে বধির লোকেরা, শোন, আর অন্ধেরা, তোমরা তাকিয়ে দেখ।
19 Who is blind, but my servant? and deaf, as my messenger whom I sent? Who is blind as he in whom I have trusted, and blind as Jehovah's servant,
১৯আমার দাস ছাড়া অন্ধ আর কে? আমার পাঠানো দূতের মত বধির আর কে? আমার উপর মিত্রের মত অন্ধ আর কে? সদাপ্রভুর দাসের মত অন্ধকে?
20 — seeing many things, and thou observest not? With opened ears, he heareth not.
২০তুমি অনেক কিছু দেখেও মনোযোগ দিচ্ছ না; তোমার কান খোলা থাকলেও কিছু শুনছ না।”
21 Jehovah had delight [in him] for his righteousness' sake: he hath magnified the law, and made it honourable.
২১সদাপ্রভু নিজের ধর্মশীলতার অনুরোধে নিয়মকে মহৎ ও গৌরবযুক্ত করলেন।
22 But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and hidden in prison-houses; they are become a prey, and none delivereth, — a spoil, and none saith, Restore.
২২কিন্তু এই লোকদের সব কিছু নিয়ে যাওয়া ও লুট করা হয়েছে, তাদের সবাইকে গর্তে ফেলা হয়েছে আর জেলখানায় লুকিয়ে রাখা হয়েছে। তারা লুটের জিনিসের মত হয়েছে, তাদের উদ্ধার করবার কেউ নেই এবং কেউ বলে না, “তাদের ফিরিয়ে দাও।”
23 Who among you will give ear to this, [who] will hearken and hear what is to come?
২৩তোমাদের মধ্যে কে আমার কথা শুনবে? আর যে দিন আসছে সেই দিনের র জন্য কে আমার কথা শুনবে?
24 Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? Did not Jehovah, he against whom we have sinned? And they would not walk in his ways, neither did they hearken unto his law.
২৪যাকোবকে কে লুট হতে দিয়েছেন? আর ইস্রায়েলকে কে লুটেরাদের হাতে তুলে দিয়েছেন? তিনি কি সদাপ্রভু নন, যাঁর বিরুদ্ধে আমরা পাপ করেছি? যারা তাঁর পথে চলতে চায়নি, তাঁর নির্দেশ পালন করে নি।
25 And he hath poured upon him the fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he took it not to heart.
২৫তাই তিনি তাঁর জ্বলন্ত ক্রোধ ও যুদ্ধের ভয়ংকরতা ইস্রায়েলের উপর ঢেলে দিয়েছেন। তাতে সেই আগুন তার চারদিকে জ্বলে উঠল, তবুও সে বুঝতে পারল না; তাদের পুড়িয়ে দিল, কিন্তু তাতে সে মনোযোগ দিল না।
