Isaiah 30
1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith Jehovah, who take counsel, but not of me, and who make leagues, but not by my Spirit, that they may heap sin upon sin;
Wehe den abtrünnigen Kindern, spricht der HERR, die Pläne ausführen, die nicht von mir stammen, und Bündnisse abschließen ohne meinen Geist und also eine Sünde zur andern hinzufügen!
2 who walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked of my mouth, — to take refuge under the protection of Pharaoh, and trust in the shadow of Egypt!
Sie ziehen nach Ägypten hinab und fragen mich nicht um Rat und flüchten sich unter den Schutz des Pharao und suchen Zuflucht im Schatten der Ägypter.
3 For to you the protection of Pharaoh shall be a shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt a confusion.
Aber der Schutz des Pharao wird euch zur Schande und die Zuflucht unter dem Schatten der Ägypter zur Schmach dienen!
4 For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.
Denn ihre Obern sind zu Zoan gewesen und ihre Boten bis gen Hanes gekommen.
5 They were all ashamed of a people [that] did not profit them, nor were a help or profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.
Aber sie müssen doch alle zuschanden werden ob einem Volke, das ihnen nichts nützt, das ihnen weder zur Hilfe noch zum Vorteil gereicht, sondern zur Schande und zum Schimpf!
6 — The burden of the beasts of the south: Through a land of trouble and anguish, whence come the lioness and lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they carry their riches upon the shoulders of asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to the people that shall not profit [them].
Weissagung über das Nilpferd des Südens: Durch ein bedrängtes und geängstigtes Land, woher die Löwin kommt und der Löwe, die Otter und der fliegende Drache, schleppen sie auf dem Rücken der Esel ihre Reichtümer und auf dem Höcker der Kamele ihre Schätze zu einem Volke, das nichts nützt!
7 For Egypt shall help in vain, and to no purpose; therefore have I named her, Arrogance, that doeth nothing.
Denn Ägypten ist Dunst und hilft gar nichts. Darum habe ich es genannt: Das stillsitzende Ungetüm.
8 Now go, write it before them on a tablet, and record it in a book, that it may be for the time to come, as a witness for ever,
Gehe du nun hin und schreibe ihnen das auf eine Tafel und verzeichne es in ein Buch, daß es bleibe bis auf den letzten Tag, zum Zeugnis bis in Ewigkeit,
9 that this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of Jehovah;
nämlich: Es ist ein widerspenstiges Volk, lügenhafte Kinder, Kinder, die das Gesetz des HERRN nicht hören wollen;
10 who say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things; speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits;
die zu den Sehern sagen: «Ihr sollt nicht sehen!» und zu den Propheten: «Weissaget uns nicht das Richtige, sondern saget uns angenehme Dinge und weissaget Täuschungen!
11 get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us!
Verlasset den Weg, weichet ab von dem Pfade, lasset uns mit dem Heiligen Israels in Ruhe!»
12 Therefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel: Because ye reject this word, and confide in oppression and wilfulness, and depend thereon,
Deswegen spricht der Heilige Israels also: Weil ihr dieses Wort verwerft und euch auf Gewalttätigkeit und Verdrehung verlasset und euch darauf stützt,
13 therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a towering wall, whose breaking shall come suddenly in an instant.
darum wird euch diese Sünde sein wie ein Bruchstück, das herunterfallen will, das drohend vorspringt an einer hohen Mauer, das plötzlich, unversehens abbricht;
14 And he shall break it as the breaking of a potter's vessel, that is broken in pieces unsparingly; and in the pieces of it there shall not be found a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to scoop water out of the cistern.
und es wird zerbrechen, wie ein Töpfergeschirr zerbricht, das schonungslos in Stücke geschlagen wird, so daß man unter seinen Stücken nicht eine Scherbe findet, mit der man Glut aus dem Feuerherde holen oder Wasser aus dem Brunnen schöpfen könnte.
15 For thus saith the Lord Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel: In returning and rest shall ye be saved, in quietness and confidence shall be your strength; but ye would not.
Denn also spricht Gott, der HERR, der Heilige Israels: Durch Umkehr und Ruhe könnt ihr gerettet werden, im Stillesein und im Vertrauen liegt eure Stärke.
16 And ye said, No, but we will flee upon horses, — therefore shall ye flee; and, We will ride upon the swift, — therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.
Aber ihr wollt nicht, sondern ihr sprechet: «Nein, wir wollen auf Rossen dahinfliegen!» Darum müsset ihr auch fliehen. «Wir wollen schnell davonreiten!» Darum werden eure Verfolger noch schneller sein!
17 One thousand [shall flee] at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as a banner on a hill.
Euer Tausend werden fliehen vor eines Einzigen Schelten; ja, wenn euch Fünfe bedrohen, so werdet ihr alle fliehen, bis euer Überrest geworden ist wie ein Mastbaum oben auf einem Berge und wie eine Fahnenstange auf einem Hügel.
18 And therefore will Jehovah wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he lift himself up, that he may have mercy upon you; for Jehovah is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
Darum wartet der HERR, damit er euch begnadigen kann, und darum ist er hoch erhaben, damit er sich über euch erbarmen kann, denn der HERR ist ein Gott des Gerichts; wohl allen, die auf ihn harren!
19 For the people shall dwell in Zion, at Jerusalem. Thou shalt weep no more; he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; as he heareth it, he will answer thee.
Denn du Volk, das zu Zion wohnen wird, in Jerusalem, du sollst nicht weinen; er wird sich über dich erbarmen, sobald du schreist; sobald er's hört, antwortet er dir!
20 And the Lord will give you the bread of adversity, and the water of oppression; yet thy teachers shall not be hidden any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers.
Der Herr hat euch zwar Kerkerbrot zu essen und Wasser der Gefangenschaft zu trinken gegeben; aber dein Lehrer wird sich nicht länger verborgen halten, sondern deine Augen werden deinen Lehrer sehen;
21 And when ye turn to the right hand or when ye turn to the left, thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it.
deine Ohren werden hören das Wort, das hinter dir her also spricht: «Dies ist der Weg, denselben geht», wenn ihr zur Rechten oder zur Linken abbiegen wollt.
22 And ye shall defile the silver covering of your graven images, and the gold overlaying of your molten images; thou shalt cast them away as a menstruous cloth: Out! shalt thou say unto it.
Und ihr werdet eure mit Silber überzogenen Götzen und die goldene Bekleidung eurer gegossenen Bilder entweihen; du wirst sie wegwerfen wie etwas Unflätiges und zu ihnen sagen: Hinaus!
23 And he will give the rain of thy seed with which thou shalt sow the ground; and bread, the produce of the ground, and it shall be fat and rich. In that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures;
Und er wird deiner Saat, mit der du den Acker bestellst, Regen spenden, daß das Getreide, der Ertrag deines Ackers, saftig und nahrhaft wird; dein Vieh wird zu jener Zeit auf weiter Aue weiden.
24 and the oxen and the asses that till the ground shall eat salted provender, which hath been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.
Die Ochsen und Esel, welche das Feld bearbeiten, werden gesalzenes Mengfutter fressen, welches mit der Worfschaufel und Wanne geworfelt ist.
25 And there shall be upon every high mountain and upon every hill that is lifted up, brooks [and] water-courses, in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.
Auf allen hohen Bergen und auf allen erhabenen Hügeln werden Bäche, Wasserströme entspringen am Tag der großen Schlacht, wenn die Türme fallen werden.
26 And the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that Jehovah bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the wound of their stroke.
Und das Licht des Mondes wird dem Licht der Sonne gleichen, das Licht der Sonne aber wird siebenmal stärker sein, wie das Licht von sieben Tagen, zu der Zeit, da der HERR den Schaden seines Volkes verbinden und die ihm geschlagenen Wunden heilen wird.
27 Behold, the name of Jehovah cometh from far, burning [with] his anger — a grievous conflagration; his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a consuming fire;
Siehe, der Name des HERRN kommt von ferne! Sein Zorn brennt, mächtiger Rauch steigt auf; seine Lippen sind voll Grimm und seine Zunge wie ein verzehrendes Feuer,
28 and his breath as an overflowing torrent, which reacheth even to the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of destruction, and [to put] a bridle into the jaws of the peoples, that causeth them to go astray.
sein Odem wie ein überfließender Wasserstrom, der bis an den Hals reicht, daß er die Hohlheit der Heiden durch das Sieb erweise und an die Kinnbacken der Völker den irreführenden Zaum lege.
29 Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a feast is sanctified; and joy of heart, as of one who goeth with a pipe to come unto the mountain of Jehovah, to the Rock of Israel.
Ihr aber werdet singen wie in der Nacht, da man sich auf ein Fest heiligt, ihr werdet von Herzen fröhlich sein, wie die Wallfahrer, die unter Flötenspiel auf den Berg des HERRN, zum Felsen Israels ziehen.
30 And Jehovah will cause the majesty of his voice to be heard, and will shew the lighting down of his arm with indignation of anger, and a flame of consuming fire, with waterflood and storm and hailstones.
Der HERR wird seine majestätische Stimme hören lassen und seinen drohenden Arm sehen lassen mit Zornesbrausen und verzehrenden Feuerflammen, Wolkenbruch, Platzregen und Hagelsteinen.
31 For through the voice of Jehovah shall the Assyrian be broken down: he will smite [him] with the rod.
Da wird der Assyrer sich fürchten vor der Stimme des HERRN, welcher ihn mit der Rute schlagen wird.
32 And wherever shall pass the appointed staff, which Jehovah shall lay upon him, it shall be with tambours and harps; and with tumultuous battles will he fight with it.
Und jeder Streich der verordneten Schläge, die der HERR auf ihn herabsausen läßt, wird unter Pauken und Harfenspiel erfolgen, und in Kämpfen mit geschwungenem Arm wird er gegen ihn kämpfen.
33 For Topheth is prepared of old; for the king also it is prepared: he hath made it deep and large; its pile is fire and much wood; the breath of Jehovah, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.
Denn das Tophet ist längst bereit, auch für den König ist es hergerichtet; man hat den Scheiterhaufen tief und weit gemacht; Feuer und Holz ist genug vorhanden; wie ein Schwefelstrom wird der Odem des HERRN ihn anzünden.
