Isaiah 26
1 In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city; salvation doth he appoint for walls and bulwarks.
Naquele dia se cantará este cântico na terra de Judá: Uma forte cidade temos, Deus lhe pôs a salvação por muros e antemuros.
2 Open ye the gates, and the righteous nation which keepeth faithfulness shall enter in.
Abri as portas, para que entre nelas a nação justa, que observa a verdade.
3 Thou wilt keep in perfect peace the mind stayed [on thee], for he confideth in thee.
Tu conservarás em paz aquele cuja mente está firme em ti, porque confiará em ti
4 Confide ye in Jehovah for ever; for in Jah, Jehovah, is the rock of ages.
Confiai no Senhor perpetuamente; porque em Deus Senhor há uma rocha eterna.
5 For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he layeth it low, he layeth it low to the ground, he bringeth it even to the dust.
Porque ele abate os que habitam em lugares sublimes, como também a cidade exalçada humilhará até ao chão, e a derribará até ao pó
6 The foot shall tread it down, — the feet of the afflicted, the steps of the poor.
O pé a atropelará; os pés dos aflitos, e os passos dos pobres.
7 The way of the just is uprightness: thou, the Upright, dost make the path of the just even.
O caminho do justo é todo plano: tu retamente pesas o andar do justo.
8 Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O Jehovah, have we waited for thee; the desire of [our] soul is to thy name, and to thy memorial.
Até no caminho dos teus juízos, Senhor, te esperamos, no teu nome e na tua lembrança está o desejo da nossa alma.
9 With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
Na minha alma te desejei de noite, e com o meu espírito, que está dentro de mim, madrugarei a buscar-te; porque, havendo os teus juízos na terra, os moradores do mundo aprendem justiça.
10 If favour be shewn to the wicked, he doth not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness he dealeth unjustly, and beholdeth not the majesty of Jehovah.
Ainda que se faça favor ao ímpio, nem por isso aprende a justiça; até na terra da retidão obra iniquidade, e não olha para a alteza do Senhor.
11 Jehovah, thy hand is lifted up, but they do not see: [yet] they shall see [thy] jealousy [for] the people, and be ashamed; yea, the fire which is for thine adversaries shall devour them.
Ó Senhor, ainda que esteja exaltada a tua mão, nem por isso a veem: vê-la-ão, porém, e confundir-se-ão por causa do zelo que tens do teu povo; e o fogo consumirá a teus adversários.
12 Jehovah, thou wilt ordain peace for us; for thou also hast wrought all our works for us.
Ó Senhor, tu nos darás a paz, porque tu és o que fizeste em nós todas as nossas obras.
13 Jehovah our God, other lords than thee have had dominion over us; by thee only will we make mention of thy name.
Ó Senhor Deus nosso, já outros senhores tem tido domínio sobre nós; porém, por ti só, nos lembramos do teu nome
14 [They are] dead, they shall not live; deceased, they shall not rise: for thou hast visited and destroyed them, and made all memory of them to perish.
Morrendo eles, não tornarão a viver; falecendo, não ressuscitarão; por isso os visitaste e destruíste, e apagaste toda a sua memória.
15 Thou hast increased the nation, Jehovah, thou hast increased the nation: thou art glorified. Thou hadst removed [it] far [unto] all the ends of the earth.
Tu, Senhor, aumentaste a esta gente, tu aumentaste a esta gente, fizeste-te glorioso; mas longe os lançaste, a todos os fins da terra.
16 Jehovah, in trouble they sought thee; they poured out [their] whispered prayer when thy chastening was upon them.
Ó Senhor, no aperto te visitaram; vindo sobre eles a tua correção, derramaram a sua oração secreta.
17 As a woman with child, that draweth near her delivery, is in travail, [and] crieth out in her pangs; so have we been before thee, Jehovah.
Como a mulher grávida, quando está próxima ao parto, tem dores do parto, e dá gritos nas suas dores, assim fomos nós por causa da tua face, ó Senhor!
18 We have been with child, we have been in travail, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought the deliverance of the land, neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen.
Bem concebemos nós, e tivemos dores de parto, porém parimos só vento: livramento não trouxemos à terra, nem cairam os moradores do mundo
19 Thy dead shall live, my dead bodies shall arise. Awake and sing in triumph, ye that dwell in dust; for thy dew is the dew of the morning, and the earth shall cast forth the dead.
Os teus mortos viverão, como também o meu corpo morto, e assim ressuscitarão; despertai e exultai, os que habitais no pó, porque o teu orvalho será como o orvalho de hortaliças, e a terra lançará de si os mortos
20 Come, my people, enter into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee; hide thyself just for a little moment, until the indignation be past.
Vai pois, povo meu, entra nos teus quartos, e fecha as tuas portas sobre ti: esconde-te por um só momento, até que passe a ira.
21 For behold, Jehovah cometh out of his place to visit the iniquity of the inhabitants of the earth upon them; and the earth shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.
Porque eis que o Senhor sairá do seu lugar, para castigar os moradores da terra, por causa da sua iniquidade, e a terra descobrirá o seu sangue, e não encobrirá mais os seus mortos à espada.
