Isaiah 23
1 The burden of Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish! for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, none entering in. From the land of Chittim it is revealed to them.
Dies ist die Last über Tyrus: Heulet, ihr Schiffe auf dem Meer, denn sie ist zerstöret, daß kein Haus da ist, noch jemand dahin zeucht. Aus dem Lande Chittim werden sie des gewahr werden.
2 Be still, ye inhabitants of the isle! The merchants of Sidon, that pass over the sea, have replenished thee.
Die Einwohner der Inseln sind stille worden. Die Kaufleute zu Zidon, die durchs Meer zogen, fülleten dich.
3 And on great waters, the seed of Shihor, the harvest of the Nile, was her revenue; and she was the market of the nations.
Und was für Früchte am Sihor und Getreide am Wasser wuchs, brachte man zu ihr hinein durch große Wasser; und du warest der Heiden Markt worden.
4 Be thou ashamed, Sidon, for the sea hath spoken, the strength of the sea, saying, I have not travailed nor brought forth, neither have I nourished young men [nor] brought up virgins.
Du magst wohl erschrecken, Zidon! Denn das Meer, ja die Feste am Meer spricht: Ich bin nicht mehr schwanger, ich gebäre nicht mehr; so ziehe ich keine Jünglinge auf und erziehe keine Jungfrauen.
5 — When the report came into Egypt, they were sorely pained at the news of Tyre.
Gleichwie man erschrak, da man von Ägypten hörete, also wird man auch erschrecken, wenn man von Tyrus hören wird.
6 Pass over to Tarshish; howl, ye inhabitants of the coast!
Fahret hin aufs Meer; heulet, ihr Einwohner der Inseln!
7 Is this your joyous [city], whose antiquity is of ancient days? Her feet shall carry her afar off to sojourn.
Ist das eure fröhliche Stadt, die sich ihres Alters rühmete? Ihre Füße werden sie ferne wegführen zu wallen.
8 Who hath purposed this against Tyre, the distributor of crowns, whose merchants were princes, whose dealers were the honourable of the earth?
Wer hätte das gemeinet, daß es Tyrus, der Krone, so gehen sollte, so doch ihre Kaufleute Fürsten sind und ihre Krämer die HERRLIchsten im Lande?
9 Jehovah of hosts hath purposed it, to profane the pride of all glory, to bring to nought all the honourable of the earth.
Der HERR Zebaoth hat's also gedacht, auf daß er schwächte alle Pracht der lustigen Stadt und verächtlich machte alle HERRLIchen im Lande.
10 Overflow thy land like the Nile, daughter of Tarshish: there is no more restraint.
Fahre hin durch dein Land wie ein Strom, du Tochter des Meers; da ist kein Gurt mehr.
11 He hath stretched out his hand over the sea, he shaketh the kingdoms. Jehovah hath given a commandment concerning Canaan, to destroy the strongholds thereof,
Er reckt seine Hand über das Meer und erschreckt die Königreiche. Der HERR gebeut über Kanaan, zu vertilgen ihre Mächtigen,
12 and hath said, Thou shalt no more exult, [thou] oppressed virgin, daughter of Sidon: get thee up, pass over to Chittim; even there shalt thou have no rest.
und spricht: Du sollst nicht mehr fröhlich sein, du geschändete Jungfrau, du Tochter Zidon! O Chittim, mach dich auf und zeuch fort; denn du mußt da nicht bleiben,
13 Behold the land of the Chaldeans: this people did not exist; the Assyrian founded it for the dwellers in the desert: they set up their towers, they destroyed the palaces thereof; he brought it to ruin.
sondern in der Chaldäer Land, das nicht ein Volk war, sondern Assur hat es angerichtet zu Schiffen und haben feste Türme drinnen aufgerichtet und Paläste aufgebauet. Aber sie ist gesetzt, daß sie geschleift werden soll.
14 Howl, ships of Tarshish! for your fortress is laid waste.
Heulet, ihr Schiffe auf dem Meer; denn eure Macht ist zerstöret.
15 And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king. At the end of seventy years it shall be for Tyre as the harlot's song.
Zu der Zeit wird Tyrus vergessen werden siebenzig Jahre, solange ein König leben mag. Aber nach siebenzig Jahren wird man von Tyrus ein Hurenlied singen:
16 Take a harp, go about the city, thou forgotten harlot! Make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered.
Nimm die Harfe, gehe in der Stadt um, du vergessene Hure; mach es gut auf dem Saitenspiel und singe getrost, auf daß dein wieder gedacht werde.
17 And it shall come to pass at the end of seventy years, that Jehovah will visit Tyre; and she will return to her hire, and will commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the earth upon the face of the ground.
Denn nach siebenzig Jahren wird der HERR Tyrus heimsuchen, daß sie wieder komme zu ihrem Hurenlohn und Hurerei treibe mit allen Königreichen auf Erden.
18 And her merchandise and her hire shall be holy to Jehovah: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before Jehovah, to eat and be sufficed, and for excellent clothing.
Aber ihr Kaufhandel und Hurenlohn werden dem HERRN heilig sein. Man wird sie nicht zu Schatz sammeln noch verbergen, sondern die vor dem HERRN wohnen, werden ihr Kaufgut haben, daß sie essen und satt werden und wohl bekleidet sein.
