Isaiah 21
1 The burden of the desert of the sea. As whirlwinds in the south pass through, so it cometh from the desert, from a terrible land.
La carga del desierto del mar. Como los torbellinos del Sur barren, viene del desierto, de una tierra imponente.
2 A grievous vision is declared unto me: the treacherous dealeth treacherously, and the spoiler spoileth. Go up, Elam! besiege, Media! All the sighing thereof have I made to cease.
Se me declara una visión penosa. El hombre traicionero trata con traición, y el destructor destruye. Sube, Elam; ¡ataca! He detenido todos los suspiros de Media.
3 Therefore are my loins filled with pain; anguish hath taken hold upon me, as the anguish of a woman in travail: I am bowed down so as not to hear, I am dismayed so as not to see.
Por eso mis muslos están llenos de angustia. Los dolores se han apoderado de mí, como los dolores de una mujer de parto. Tengo tanto dolor que no puedo oír. Estoy tan consternada que no puedo ver.
4 My heart panteth, horror affrighteth me: the night of my pleasure hath he turned into trembling unto me.
Mi corazón se agita. El horror me ha asustado. El crepúsculo que deseaba se ha convertido en temblor para mí.
5 Prepare the table, appoint the watch; eat, drink: arise, ye princes, anoint the shield.
Preparan la mesa. Ponen el reloj. Comen. Beben. ¡Levántense, príncipes, engrasen el escudo!
6 For thus hath the Lord said unto me: Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth.
Porque el Señor me dijo: “Ve, pon un vigilante. Que declare lo que ve.
7 And he saw chariots, horsemen by pairs, a chariot with asses, a chariot with camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed.
Cuando vea una tropa, jinetes de a dos, una tropa de asnos, una tropa de camellos, escuchará diligentemente con gran atención.”
8 And he cried [as] a lion, Lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights.
Gritó como un león: “Señor, de día estoy continuamente en la atalaya, y cada noche permanezco en mi puesto.
9 — And behold, there cometh a chariot of men; horsemen by pairs. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.
He aquí que viene una tropa de hombres, de a caballo, en parejas”. Él respondió: “Caída, caída está Babilonia; y todas las imágenes grabadas de sus dioses están rotas en el suelo.
10 O my threshing, and the corn of my floor! What I have heard of Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you.
¡Tú eres mi trilla y el grano de mi suelo!” Lo que he oído de Yahvé de los Ejércitos, el Dios de Israel, te lo he declarado.
11 The burden of Dumah. He calleth to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?
La carga de Dumah. Uno me llama desde Seir: “Vigilante, ¿qué hay de la noche? Vigilante, ¿qué hay de la noche?”
12 The watchman said, The morning cometh, and also the night: if ye will inquire, inquire; return, come.
El vigilante dijo: “Llega la mañana, y también la noche. Si quieres preguntar, pregunta. Vuelve otra vez”.
13 The burden against Arabia. In the forest of Arabia shall ye lodge, [ye] caravans of Dedanites.
El peso de Arabia. Os alojaréis en los matorrales de Arabia, vosotros, caravanas de dedanitas.
14 Bring ye water to meet the thirsty! The inhabitants of the land of Tema come forth with their bread for him that fleeth.
Llevaron agua al que tenía sed. Los habitantes de la tierra de Tema salieron al encuentro de los fugitivos con su pan.
15 For they flee from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war.
Porque huyeron de las espadas, de la espada desenvainada, del arco doblado y del calor de la batalla.
16 For thus hath the Lord said unto me: Within a year, according to the years of a hired servant, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail;
Porque el Señor me dijo: “Dentro de un año, como lo contaría un obrero obligado por contrato, toda la gloria de Cedar se agotará,
17 and the residue of the number of the archers, the mighty men of the sons of Kedar, shall be diminished: for Jehovah, the God of Israel, hath spoken.
y el resto del número de los arqueros, los hombres poderosos de los hijos de Cedar, será escaso; porque el Señor, el Dios de Israel, lo ha dicho.”
