Isaiah 2
1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
Das Wort, das Jeschajahu, Amoz Sohn, erschaute über Judah und Jerusalem.
2 And it shall come to pass in the end of days, [that] the mountain of Jehovah's house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills; and all the nations shall flow unto it.
Und wird geschehen in den letzten Tagen, daß der Berg von Jehovahs Haus befestigt wird als Haupt der Berge, und erhaben über den Hügeln, und zu ihm alle Völkerschaften strömen werden.
3 And many peoples shall go and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and Jehovah's word from Jerusalem.
Und viele Völker werden gehen und sprechen: Lasset uns gehen und hinaufziehen zum Berg Jehovahs, zum Haus des Gottes Jakobs, daß Er uns weise Seine Wege und wir wandeln in Seinen Pfaden, denn von Zion geht aus das Gesetz, und das Wort Jehovahs von Jerusalem.
4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall reprove many peoples; and they shall forge their swords into ploughshares, and their spears into pruning-knives: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
Und richten wird Er zwischen den Völkerschaften und strafen viele Völker. Und sie werden ihre Schwerter zu Hacken und ihre Spieße zu Winzermessern schmieden. Nicht wird Völkerschaft wider Völkerschaft das Schwert erheben, nicht wird man fürder streiten lernen.
5 House of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of Jehovah.
Gehet, o Haus Jakobs, laßt uns im Lichte Jehovahs wandeln!
6 For thou hast cast off thy people, the house of Jacob, because they are filled [with what comes] from the east, and use auguries like the Philistines, and ally themselves with the children of foreigners.
Denn Du gabst dahin Dein Volk, das Haus Jakobs, weil es voll vom Morgenland, und Zeichendeuter sind gleich den Philistern und fallen den Kindern des Auslandes bei.
7 And their land is full of silver and gold, and there is no end of their treasures: their land also is full of horses, and there is no end of their chariots.
Und voll ward sein Land von Silber und von Gold, und seiner Schätze war kein Ende, und sein Land ward voller Rosse, und seiner Streitwagen war kein Ende.
8 And their land is full of idols; they bow themselves down to the work of their own hands, to that which their fingers have made.
Und sein Land ward voller Götzen; vor seiner Hände Werk, das ihre Finger machten, beugten sie sich nieder.
9 And the mean man shall be bowed down, and the great man shall be brought low: and do not thou forgive them!
Und der Mensch beugt sich nieder und der Mann erniedrigt sich davor, das wirst Du ihnen nicht vergeben.
10 Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, from before the terror of Jehovah, and from the glory of his majesty.
Gehe ein in den Felsen und verkrieche dich in den Staub vor Jehovahs Schauer und vor der Ehre Seiner Hoheit.
11 The lofty eyes of man shall be brought low, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and Jehovah alone shall be exalted in that day.
Die hoffärtigen Augen des Menschen müssen erniedrigt werden, der Männer Überhebung sich bücken; und allein hoch wird an jenem Tage Jehovah sein.
12 For there shall be a day of Jehovah of hosts upon everything proud and lofty, and upon everything lifted up, and it shall be brought low;
Denn der Tag Jehovahs ist über alles Hochmütige und Erhöhte und über alles Erhabene, und es wird erniedrigt werden.
13 and upon all the cedars of Lebanon, high and lifted up, and upon all the oaks of Bashan;
Und über alle Zedern Libanons, die Erhöhten und die Erhabenen, und über alle Eichen Baschans;
14 and upon all the lofty mountains, and upon all the hills that are lifted up;
Und über alle erhöhten Berge und über alle erhabenen Hügel;
15 and upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall;
Und über jeden emporragenden Turm und über jegliche befestigte Mauer,
16 and upon all the ships of Tarshish, and upon all pleasant works of art.
Und über alle Schiffe von Tharschisch und über alle Bilder des Begehrens.
17 And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be brought low; and Jehovah alone shall be exalted in that day:
Und die Hoheit des Menschen muß sich beugen, sich erniedrigen der Männer Überhebung; und allein hoch wird an jenem Tage Jehovah sein.
18 and the idols shall utterly pass away.
Und mit den Götzen wird es ganz und gar vorbei sein.
19 And they shall go into the caves of the rocks, and into the holes of the earth, from before the terror of Jehovah, and from the glory of his majesty, when he shall arise to terrify the earth.
Und sie gehen ein in die Höhlen der Felsen und in des Staubes Löcher vor dem Schauer Jehovahs und vor der Ehre Seiner Hoheit, wenn Er Sich aufmacht, die Erde zu schrecken.
20 In that day men shall cast away their idols of silver and their idols of gold, which they made [each] for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;
An jenem Tage wirft der Mensch die Götzen von seinem Silber und Götzen von seinem Gold, die sie zur Anbetung sich gemacht, den Maulwürfen und Fledermäusen hin.
21 to go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the fissures of the cliffs, from before the terror of Jehovah, and from the glory of his majesty, when he shall arise to terrify the earth.
Daß er eingehe in die Klüfte der Felsen und in das Geklüfte der Felsenklippen vor dem Schauer Jehovahs, und vor der Ehre Seiner Hoheit, wenn Er Sich aufmacht, die Erde zu schrecken.
22 Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for what account is to be made of him?
Höret auf auch vom Menschen, in dessen Nase der Odem ist; denn für was ist er zu achten?
