Isaiah 16
1 Send the lamb of the ruler of the land from the rock to the wilderness, — unto the mount of the daughter of Zion.
Enviai o cordeiro ao dominador da terra desde Sela, ao deserto, até ao monte da filha de Sião.
2 And it shall be [that] as a wandering bird, [as] a scattered nest, so shall the daughters of Moab be at the fords of the Arnon.
De outro modo sucederá que serão as filhas de Moab junto aos vaus de Arnon como o pássaro vagueante, lançado do ninho.
3 Bring in counsel, execute justice; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of noonday; hide the outcasts, discover not the fugitive.
Toma conselho, faze juízo, põe a tua sombra no pino do meio dia como a noite; esconde os desterrados, e não descubras os vagueantes.
4 Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the waster. For the extortioner is at an end, the wasting hath ceased, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.
Habitem entre ti os meus desterrados, ó Moab: serve-lhes de refúgio perante a face do destruidor; porque o opressor tem fim; a destruição é desfeita, e os atropeladores já são consumidos sobre a terra
5 And a throne shall be established in mercy: and in the tent of David there shall sit upon it, in truth, one judging and seeking justice and hastening righteousness.
Porque o trono se confirmará em benignidade, e sobre ele no tabernáculo de David em verdade se assentará um que julgue, e busque o juízo, e se apresse à justiça.
6 We have heard of the arrogance of Moab, — [he is] very proud, — of his pride, and his arrogance, and his wrath: his pratings are vain.
Já ouvimos a soberba de Moab, que é soberbíssimo: a sua altivez, e a sua soberba, e o seu furor; os seus ferrolhos não são tão seguros.
7 Therefore shall Moab howl for Moab; every one of them shall howl. For the foundations of Kirhareseth shall ye mourn, verily afflicted.
Portanto Moab uivará por Moab; todos uivarão: gemereis pelos fundamentos de Kir-Hareseth, pois já estão quebrados.
8 For the fields of Heshbon languish, the vine of Sibmah; the lords of the nations have broken down its choice plants: they reached unto Jaazer, they wandered [through] the wilderness; its shoots stretched out, they went beyond the sea.
Porque já os campos de hesbon enfraqueceram, como também a vide de Sibma; já os senhores das nações atropelaram as suas melhores plantas; vão chegando a Jazer; andam vagueando pelo deserto: os seus renovos se estenderam e já passaram além do mar
9 Therefore I will weep with the weeping of Jaazer for the vine of Sibmah; with my tears will I water thee, Heshbon, and Elealeh, for a cry is fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy harvest.
Pelo que prantearei, com o pranto de Jazer, a vide de Sibma; regar-te-ei com as minhas lágrimas, ó Hesbon e Eleale; porque já o júbilo dos teus frutos de verão e da tua sega caiu.
10 And joy and gladness is taken away out of the fruitful field; and in the vineyards there is no singing, neither is there shouting: the treaders tread out no wine in the presses, I have made the cry [of the winepress] to cease.
Assim que já se tirou o folguedo e a alegria do fértil campo, e já nas vinhas se não canta, nem júbilo algum se faz: já o pisador não pisará as uvas nos lagares; já fiz cessar o júbilo
11 Therefore my bowels sound like a harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kirheres.
Pelo que minhas entranhas fazem ruído por Moab como harpa, e o meu interior por Kirheres.
12 And it shall come to pass, when Moab shall appear, shall weary himself on the high place, and enter into his sanctuary to pray, that he shall not prevail.
E será que, quando virem que já Moab está cançado nos altos, então entrará no seu santuário a orar, porém nada alcançará.
13 This is the word which Jehovah hath spoken from of old concerning Moab.
Esta é a palavra que falou o Senhor desde então contra Moab.
14 And now Jehovah speaketh saying, Within three years, as the years of a hired servant, and the glory of Moab shall be brought to nothing, with all that great multitude; and the remnant shall be small, few, of no account.
Porém agora falou o Senhor, dizendo: Dentro em três anos (tais quais os anos de jornaleiros), então se virá a envilecer a glória de Moab, com toda a sua grande multidão; e o resíduo será pouco, pequeno e impotente.
