< Isaiah 14 >

1 For Jehovah will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in rest in their own land; and the stranger shall be united to them, and they shall be joined to the house of Jacob.
Yehowa akpɔ nublanui na Yakob, aʋu ʋɔ atia Israel, eye wòatsɔ wo aɖo woawo ŋutɔ ƒe anyigba dzi. Dukɔ bubu me tɔwo akpe ɖe wo ŋuti, eye woawɔ ɖeka kple Yakob ƒe aƒe la.
2 And the peoples shall take them and bring them to their place; and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of Jehovah for servants and handmaids; and they shall take them captive whose captives they were, and they shall rule over their oppressors.
Dukɔwo akplɔ wo va woawo ŋutɔ nɔƒee. Dukɔwo kple dɔlanyɔnuwo le Yehowa ƒe aƒe la dzi. Ale woalé ame siwo ɖe aboyo wo la, eye woaɖu gã ɖe ame siwo te wo ɖe to la dzi.
3 And it shall come to pass in the day that Jehovah shall give thee rest from thy sorrow and from thy trouble and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,
Gbe si gbe Yehowa ana mi gbɔdzɔe tso miaƒe fukpekpewo, hiãkamewo kple dɔ sesẽ siwo miewɔ le aboyo me la,
4 that thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased, — the exactress of gold ceased!
ado hamelo sia na Babilonia fia be, Ale funyafunyawɔame la wu nue nye esi! Ale eƒe ŋutasesẽ hã wu nue nye esi!
5 Jehovah hath broken the staff of the wicked, the sceptre of the rulers.
Yehowa ŋe ame vɔ̃ɖi ƒe ameƒoti, eye wòŋe fiawo ƒe tsiamiti
6 He that smote the peoples in wrath with a relentless stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted unsparingly.
siwo wotsɔ ƒo dukɔwo atraɖii, eye le woƒe dɔmedzoe me, wobɔbɔ dukɔwo ɖe anyi heti wo yome kutɔkutɔe.
7 The whole earth is at rest, is quiet: they break forth into singing.
Anyigbawo katã gbɔ ɖe eme le ŋutifafa me, eye wode asi hadzidzi kple dzidzɔkpɔkpɔ me.
8 Even the cypresses rejoice at thee, the cedars of Lebanon, [saying, ] Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.
Logotiwo kple Lebanon ƒe sedatiwo le dzidzɔ kpɔm ɖe ŋu wò, eye wogblɔ be, “Azɔ esi wolã wo ƒu anyi la, atidzela aɖeke magava lã mi aƒu anyi o.”
9 Sheol from beneath is moved for thee to meet [thee] at thy coming, stirring up the dead for thee, all the he-goats of the earth; making to rise from their thrones all the kings of the nations. (Sheol h7585)
Tsĩeƒe le dzadzraɖo wɔm be woado go wò ne èva. Ènyɔ ame kukuwo ƒe gbɔgbɔwo be woado go wò, ame siwo nye dziɖulawo le xexe sia me kpɔ. Èna ame siwo ɖu fia ɖe xexemedukɔwo dzi kpɔla tso le woƒe fiazikpuiwo dzi. (Sheol h7585)
10 All of them shall answer and say unto thee, Art thou also become powerless as we; art thou become like unto us!
Wo katã woaɖo eŋu na wò kple gbe ɖeka be, “Wò hã èzu ame beli abe míawo ke ene; èle abe mia dometɔ ɖeka ene azɔ.”
11 — Thy pomp is brought down to Sheol, the noise of thy lyres: the maggot is spread under thee, and worms cover thee. (Sheol h7585)
Wotsɔ wò atsyɔ̃ɖoɖo katã ɖi ɖe yɔ me kpe ɖe wò kasaŋkuwo ƒe ɖiɖi ŋuti. Nyẽwo le dodom le tewò, eye ŋɔviwo le tatam le dziwò. (Sheol h7585)
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, Lucifer, son of the morning! Thou art cut down to the ground, that didst prostrate the nations!
Aleke nèhege tso dziƒoe, o ŋukeɣletivi! Wokɔ wò ƒu gbe ɖe anyigba dzi; wò ame si te dukɔwo ɖe anyi kpɔ!
13 And thou that didst say in thy heart, I will ascend into the heavens, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, and I will sit upon the mount of assembly, in the recesses of the north;
Ègblɔ le wò dzi me be, “Malia nu ayi ɖe dziƒo. Mali nye fiazikpui ɖe Mawu ƒe ɣletiviwo tame. Manɔ nye fiazikpui dzi le takpekpeto la dzi, le to kɔkɔe la tame ʋĩi ke.
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High:
Malia ayi ɖe lilikpowo tame ke, eye mawɔ ɖokuinye be masɔ ta kple Dziƒoʋĩtɔ la.”
15 none the less art thou brought down to Sheol, to the recesses of the pit. (Sheol h7585)
Ke wohe wò ƒu gbe ɖe yɔ me, ɖe tsiẽƒe ƒe gogloƒe ke. (Sheol h7585)
16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee; they shall consider thee, [saying, ] Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that shook kingdoms;
Ame siwo kpɔ wò la, woafɔ ŋku ɖe dziwò, eye woabu nu si dzɔ ɖe dziwò la ŋuti ahabia be, “Ɖe menye ame siae nye ame si ʋuʋu anyigba la, eye wòna fiaɖuƒewo dzo nyanyanya,
17 [that] made the world as a wilderness, and overthrew the cities thereof; [that] dismissed not his prisoners homewards?
ame si na xexea me zu gbegbe, ame si gbã du gãwo, eye wòɖe aboyo emenɔlawo oa?”
18 — All the kings of the nations, all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house;
Dukɔwo katã ƒe fiawo mlɔ anyi ɖe woƒe yɔdowo me le bubu me.
19 but thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, covered with the slain — those thrust through with the sword, that go down to the stones of the pit: like a carcase trodden under foot.
Ke wo ya la, wokɔ wò ƒu gbe ɖe wò yɔdo me abe atilɔ si gbɔ wogbe nu le la ene. Wolɔ ame siwo wowu kple ame siwo tsi yi nu la li kɔe ɖe dziwò, ame siwo woɖi ɖe agakpetowo ƒe gogloƒe ke, eye wole abe ŋutilã kuku siwo wofanya kple afɔ la ene.
20 Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial; for thou hast destroyed thy land, hast slain thy people. Of the seed of evildoers no mention shall be made for ever.
Womaɖi wò abe woawo ene o, elabena ègblẽ wò anyigba, eye nèwu wò amewo. Womagayɔ ame vɔ̃ɖiwo ƒe dzidzimeviwo ƒe ŋkɔ azɔ o.
21 Prepare ye slaughter for his children, because of the iniquity of their fathers; that they may not rise up and possess the earth, nor fill the face of the world with cities.
Dzra teƒe ɖo ne nàwu ŋutsuwo le afi ma, ɖe wo fofowo ƒe nu vɔ̃wo ta. Womatsi tsitre be woanyi anyigba la ƒe dome, eye woatso du gãwo, wòaxɔ anyigba la dzi o.
22 For I will rise up against them, saith Jehovah of hosts, and cut off from Babylon name and remnant, and scion and descendant, saith Jehovah.
Yehowa, Dziƒoʋakɔwo ƒe Aƒetɔ la gblɔ be, “Matso ɖe wo ŋuti. Maɖe Babilonia ƒe ŋkɔ, ame siwo tsi agbe, viawo kple eƒe dzidzimeviwo ɖa” Yehowae gblɔe.
23 And I will make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water; and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith Jehovah of hosts.
“Mana wòazu hlɔ̃madɛwo nɔƒe, eye matsɔ gbegblẽ ƒe xa akplɔ woe.” Yehowa, Dziƒoʋakɔwo ƒe Aƒetɔ lae gblɔe.
24 Jehovah of hosts hath sworn saying, Assuredly as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, it shall stand:
Nyagblɔɖi la ɖi Asiria ŋu. Yehowa, Dziƒoʋakɔwo ƒe Aƒetɔ la, ka atam be, “Le nyateƒe me, ale si meɖoe la, nenemae wòanɔ, eye ale si meɖo ɖe ta me la, nenema wòava emee.
25 to break the Assyrian in my land; and upon my mountains will I tread him under foot; and his yoke shall depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.
Magbã Asiriatɔwo le nye anyigba dzi, eye mafanya wo le nye towo tame. Maɖe kɔkuti ɖa le nye amewo ƒe kɔ, eye maɖe eƒe agba kpekpe ɖa le woƒe abɔta.”
26 This is the counsel which is purposed concerning the whole earth; and this is the hand which is stretched out upon all the nations.
Esia nye ɖoɖo si mewɔ ɖe xexea me katã ŋu, nye asi si mekɔ ɖe dukɔwo katã dzi,
27 For Jehovah of hosts hath purposed, and who shall frustrate [it]? And his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?
elabena esiae Yehowa, Dziƒoʋakɔwo katã ƒe Aƒetɔ la ɖo. Ame kae ate ŋu agblẽ eme? Ekɔ eƒe asiwo dzi, ame kae ate ŋu aɖiɖii?
28 In the year of the death of king Ahaz was this burden:
Mexɔ nyagblɔɖi sia le ƒe si me fia Ahaz ku.
29 Rejoice not thou, Philistia, all of thee, because the rod that smote thee is broken; for out of the serpent's root shall come forth a viper, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.
Mi Filistitɔwo, migakpɔ dzidzɔ be ameƒoti si wotsɔ ƒo mi la ŋe o, elabena da vɔ̃ɖi ado tso da ma ke me, eye eƒe metsonu nye da vɔ̃ɖi si noa aɖi, eƒe kutsetse anye da to aʋala si yɔ fũu kple aɖi.
30 And the firstborn of the poor shall feed, and the needy shall lie down in safety; but I will kill thy root with famine, and thy remnant shall be slain.
Ame dahewo ƒe ame dahe akpɔ nyuiƒe, eye hiãtɔwo atsyɔ akɔ anyi le dedinɔnɔ me. Ke matsɔ dɔtoto atsrɔ̃ wò ame siwo tsi agbe la.
31 Howl, O gate! cry, O city! thou, Philistia, art wholly dissolved; for there cometh from the north a smoke, and none remaineth apart in his gatherings [of troops].
Fa avi, o agbo! Do ɣli, o du! Mi Filistitɔwo katã milolõ. Dzudzɔ babla tso anyiehe, eye ame beli aɖeke mele woƒe aʋakɔwo dome o.
32 And what shall be answered to the messengers of the nation? That Jehovah hath founded Zion, and the afflicted of his people find refuge in it.
Ŋuɖoɖo kae woana dukɔ ma ƒe ame dɔdɔawo? “Yehowa gaɖo Zion te, eye le afi ma hiãtɔ akpɔ sitsoƒe.”
