Isaiah 13
1 The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz saw.
Povara Babilonului, pe care Isaia, fiul lui Amoţ, a văzut-o.
2 Lift up a banner upon a bare mountain, raise the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may enter the gates of the nobles.
Ridicaţi un steag pe muntele înalt, înălţaţi vocea către ei, scuturaţi mâna, ca ei să intre pe porţile nobililor.
3 I have commanded my hallowed ones, I have also called my mighty men for mine anger, them that rejoice in my highness.
Am poruncit celor sfinţiţi ai mei, am chemat de asemenea pe cei tari ai mei pentru furia mea, [adică] pe cei ce se bucură în înălţimea mea.
4 The noise of a multitude on the mountains, as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations assembled together: Jehovah of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.
Zgomotul unei mulţimi în munţi, ca al unui popor mare; un zgomot tumultuos al împărăţiilor naţiunilor adunate împreună: DOMNUL oştirilor adună armata pentru bătălie.
5 They come from a far country, from the end of the heavens — Jehovah, and the weapons of his indignation — to destroy the whole land.
Ei vin dintr-o ţară îndepărtată, de la marginea cerului, DOMNUL şi armele indignării lui, pentru a nimici toată ţara.
6 Howl, for the day of Jehovah is at hand; it cometh as destruction from the Almighty.
Urlaţi, căci ziua DOMNULUI este aproape; va veni ca o nimicire de la cel Atotputernic.
7 Therefore shall all hands be feeble, and every heart of man shall melt,
De aceea toate mâinile vor slăbi şi inima fiecărui om se va topi;
8 and they shall be terrified: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them, they shall writhe as a woman that travaileth; they shall be amazed one at another, their faces shall be as flames.
Şi vor fi înspăimântaţi; junghiuri şi întristări îi vor apuca; vor fi în durere ca o femeie în travaliu; se vor uimi unul pe altul; feţele lor vor fi ca flăcările.
9 Behold, the day of Jehovah cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the earth desolate; and he will destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
Iată, ziua DOMNULUI vine, crudă, deopotrivă cu furie şi mânie înverşunată, pentru a lăsa ţara pustiită, iar el îi va nimici pe păcătoşii din ea.
10 For the stars of the heavens and the constellations thereof shall not give their light; the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
Fiindcă stelele cerului şi constelaţiile acestuia nu îşi vor da lumina, soarele va fi întunecat în mersul lui şi luna nu va face ca lumina ei să strălucească.
11 And I will punish the world for evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will make the arrogance of the proud to cease, and will bring low the haughtiness of the violent.
Şi voi pedepsi lumea pentru răul oamenilor şi pe cei stricaţi pentru nelegiuirea lor; şi voi face ca aroganţa celor mândri să înceteze şi voi doborî trufia tiranilor.
12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold, even man than the gold of Ophir.
Voi face pe om mai preţios decât aurul fin, pe om mai preţios decât lingoul de aur din Ofir.
13 Therefore I will make the heavens to shake, and the earth shall be removed out of her place, at the wrath of Jehovah of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
De aceea voi scutura cerurile şi pământul se va clinti din locul său, în furia DOMNULUI oştirilor şi în ziua mâniei lui înverşunate.
14 And it shall be as with a chased roe, and as with a flock that no man gathereth together; every one shall turn to his own people, and every one flee into his own land.
Şi va fi ca o căprioară urmărită şi ca o oaie pe care nimeni nu o ia; fiecare se va întoarce la poporul său şi va fugi fiecare în propria ţară.
15 All that are found shall be thrust through; and every one that is in league [with them] shall fall by the sword.
Fiecare ce este găsit va fi străpuns; şi fiecare ce li se alătură va cădea prin sabie.
16 And their infants shall be dashed in pieces before their eyes, their houses shall be rifled, and their women ravished.
Copiii lor de asemenea vor fi zdrobiţi în bucăţi înaintea ochilor lor; casele lor vor fi prădate şi soţiile lor violate.
17 Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, who do not regard silver, and as for gold, they have no delight in it.
Iată, voi stârni împotriva lor pe mezi, care nu vor lua aminte la argint; şi cât despre aur, nu se vor desfăta în el.
18 And [their] bows shall dash the young men to pieces, and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb: their eye shall not spare children.
Arcurile lor de asemenea vor zdrobi pe tineri în bucăţi; şi nu vor avea milă de rodul pântecelui; ochiul lor nu va cruţa copiii.
19 And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldeans' pride, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
Şi Babilonul, gloria împărăţiilor, frumuseţea maiestăţii caldeilor, va fi ca atunci când Dumnezeu a dărâmat Sodoma şi Gomora.
20 It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in, even to generation and generation; nor shall Arabian pitch tent there, nor shepherds make fold there.
Acesta nu va fi locuit niciodată, nici nu va fi locuit din generaţie în generaţie, nici arabul nu îşi va înălţa cortul acolo; nici păstorii nu îşi vor face staul acolo.
21 But beasts of the desert shall lie there, and their houses shall be full of owls; and ostriches shall dwell there, and wild goats shall dance there.
Ci fiare sălbatice ale deşertului se vor culca acolo; şi casele lor vor fi pline de creaturi jalnice; şi bufniţe vor locui acolo şi satiri vor dansa acolo.
22 And jackals shall cry to one another in their palaces, and wild dogs in the pleasant castles. And her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.
Şi fiarele sălbatice ale insulelor vor ţipa în casele lor pustii şi dragoni în palatele lor plăcute şi timpul lui este aproape să vină şi zilele lui nu vor fi prelungite.
