Hosea 5
1 Hear this, ye priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ear, O house of the king: for this judgment is for you; for ye have been a snare at Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.
Écoutez ceci, prêtres, et soyez attentive, maison d’Israël; et, maison du roi, prêtez l’oreille; parce que c’est contre vous que le jugement est préparé, parce que vous êtes devenus un lacs dans un lieu d’observation, et un rets tendu sur le Thabor.
2 And they have plunged themselves in the corruption of apostasy, but I will be a chastiser of them all.
Et vous avez détourné des victimes en les faisant tomber dans un endroit profond; et moi je les ai tous instruits.
3 I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me; for now, Ephraim, thou hast committed whoredom; Israel is defiled.
Moi, je connais Ephraïm, et Israël ne m’est point caché; je sais que maintenant Ephraïm a forniqué, qu’Israël s’est souillé.
4 Their doings do not allow them to return unto their God; for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they know not Jehovah.
Ils n’appliqueront pas leurs pensées à revenir à leur Dieu, parce que l’esprit de fornication est au milieu d’eux, et qu’ils n’ont pas connu le Seigneur.
5 And Israel's pride doth testify to his face; and Israel and Ephraim shall fall by their iniquity: Judah also shall fall with them.
Et l’arrogance d’Israël lui répondra en face; et Israël et Ephraïm tomberont par leur iniquité, et Juda tombera avec eux.
6 They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek Jehovah; but they shall not find [him]: he hath withdrawn himself from them.
Avec leurs troupeaux de menu et de gros bétail, ils iront pour chercher le Seigneur et ils ne le trouveront pas; il s’est retiré d’eux.
7 They have dealt treacherously against Jehovah; for they have begotten strange children: now shall the new moon devour them, with their allotted possessions.
C’est contre le Seigneur qu’ils ont prévariqué, parce qu’ils ont engendré des enfants étrangers; maintenant un mois les dévorera avec leurs biens.
8 Blow the horn in Gibeah, the trumpet in Ramah; cry aloud [at] Beth-aven: behind thee, O Benjamin!
Sonnez du cor dans Gabaa, de la trompette à Rama; hurlez à Bethaven, et arrière, toi, ô Benjamin.
9 Ephraim shall be a desolation in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which is sure.
Ephraïm sera dans la désolation au jour du châtiment; dans les tribus d’Israël j’ai montré ma fidélité.
10 The princes of Judah are become like them that remove the landmark: I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.
Les princes de Juda sont devenus comme ceux qui enlèvent une borne; sur eux je répandrai comme l’eau ma colère.
11 Ephraim is oppressed, crushed in judgment, because in selfwill he walked after the commandment [of man].
Ephraïm souffre l’oppression, brisé par le jugement, parce qu’il s’est mis à aller après les ordures.
12 And I will be unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.
Et moi, je suis pour Ephraïm comme la teigne, et comme la gangrène pour la maison de Juda.
13 When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah his sore, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb; but he was unable to heal you, nor hath he removed your sore.
Et Ephraïm a vu sa langueur, et Juda ses liens; et Ephraïm est allé vers Assur, et il a envoyé vers un roi vengeur, et lui-même ne pourra vous guérir, et ne pourra rompre vos liens.
14 For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah. I, I will tear and go away; I will carry off, and there shall be none to deliver.
Parce que moi, je suis comme une lionne à Ephraïm, et comme le petit d’un lion à la maison de Juda; moi, moi, je saisirai et je m’en irai; j’emporterai et il n’y a personne qui arrachera de mes mains.
15 I will go away, I will return to my place, till they acknowledge their trespass, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.
Allant, je retournerai en mon lieu, jusqu’à ce que vous tombiez en défaillance et que vous cherchiez ma face.
